Day 1 - 18 Feb 2021
Content: We flew into NBO airport. Get to the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure, especially with all the COVID travel restrictions! We had to show our negative PCR test at multiple locations.
Content: Great airport hotel. We arrived late at night so spent our first night here.
Day 2 - 19 Feb 2021
Content: We flew out of Wilson airport with SafariLink to Amboseli National Park. Get to the airport at least 1 hour before departure. Luggage allowance is 15kgs per person (33lbs) including hand luggage. Pack light and in soft sided bags! (Preferably a duffel bag). The flight was about 45 minutes.
Day 2 - 19 Feb 2021
Content: We started our first game drive as soon as we got off the plane!
Content: After our safari we checked into our camp for the next 3 nights which was about an hour from the Amboseli airstrip. All meals and most drinks were included as well as all game drives. And there was amazing views of Mt Kilimanjaro! You can also choose to do some of the additional activities at camp. We did a bush walk this night
Day 3 - 20 Feb 2021
Content: We did a full day game drive our second day and packed lunch. We saw a ton of animals this day! It was chilly in the morning but warms up in the afternoon. Pack layers!
Day 4 - 21 Feb 2021
Content: Another early morning for a half day game drive! Every day on safari is different
Content: Our stay included a bush sundowner on our last night. This is when you go out into the conservatory’s bush and have cocktails and light snacks. It also included a bottle of champagne. Great way to end our stay in Amboseli!
Day 5 - 22 Feb 2021
Content: From Amboseli we flew back to Nairobi to catch our next flight to Maasai Mara. Each flight was about 45 minutes.

Content: Once we got to the Maasai Mara, our guide for the next 3 days picked us up from the Kichwa Tembo airstrip and we went to our camp which was only 10 minutes away. Kichwa Tembo is an amazing place! Awesome tents, food and views!! So much to do as well. Again, all 3 meals and most drinks were included as well as all game drives. And then you can choose optional excursions to do at an additional cost.
Content: After we stopped at the hotel, our guide picked us back up for an afternoon game drive at 4pm. She asked what we were interested in seeing and we said lions do she took us to some lions!!
Day 6 - 23 Feb 2021
Content: Another early morning game drive. We wanted to see lion Cubs and we couldn’t find them the day before so we went to search again. After no luck, we stopped by the Tanzanian border and had a picnic breakfast. On our way back to camp we were hoping to find the Cubs but found a leopard instead!! Even better :)
Day 6 - 23 Feb 2021
Content: After our morning game drive we relaxed at the pool and got a drink. Make sure to try the Dawa, Kenya’s signature cocktail! We then went on a quick evening game drive. Then that night the Maasai’s were performing by the fire so we hung out there before dinner.
Day 7 - 24 Feb 2021
Content: Our last full day in the Maasai Mara we wanted to see cheetahs so our guide took us out into the outer Mara to find them! It was a full day adventure since it took 2.5 hours just to get to the area they were. But it was so worth it! We saw Cubs too :)
Content: After we saw our cheetahs we had a picnic lunch
Content: As we were heading back to camp we saw 2 more lions and got really close!
Day 8 - 25 Feb 2021
Content: Right before we flew back to Nairobi we went on a hot air balloon safari ride. This is one of the additional excursions you can book at the camp. It was at an extra cost but so worth it! Then we checked out of Kichwa Tembo and said goodbye to the amazing staff, what a wonderful stay!

Content: Once we got to the giraffe manor we checked in, had lunch then checked out the giraffe centre. This is free for guests as well as all meals and most drinks. Then as part of your stay we had afternoon tea with the giraffes where we got to take lots of pictures and have wine, tea or snacks! We stayed in Jock’s room. Great for 2 guests and feeding access from the windows.
Day 9 - 26 Feb 2021
Content: We woke up right before sunrise to feed the giraffes out of our window and then got ready for breakfast with the giraffes! This was an amazing experience! If you don’t get down there first for a good spot don’t worry because you will get your turn. After breakfast we got a bottle of champagne at an additional cost and sat out front with it before checking out

Content: After checking out of the giraffe manor we had some time before our flight to Diani Beach so we stopped at the Karen Blixen Measum for a tour
Content: Then we flew to our last stop, Diani Beach! This flight was about an hour long.

Content: Our resort was 45 minutes from the Ukunda airport. We checked in and spent our afternoon relaxing at the resort by the pool and beach. Great place! All meals are included and a drink package is available for purchase.
Day 10 - 27 Feb 2021
Content: Early in the morning we went to get our COVID tests and then went on the mangroves and sandbank boat tour excursion. There are multiple excursions you can book at the resort for an extra cost!

Day 11 - 28 Feb 2021
Content: Our last day we went on a whale shark excursion. This was another excursion you can book at the hotel for an additional cost. We got to swim with 1 whale shark on this excursion and it was unreal. Whale shark season in Diani Beach is usually mid-February to mid-March. I did get stung my a jelly fish so be careful!
