At the edge of the lake, in which it is also forbidden to fish, you will see the Mauritians depositing their offerings. There are lots of fish, and even eels of impressive sizes! The monkeys that we see even before arriving at the lake feed on the offerings. You will have the opportunity to stop by the side of the road to take a picture of them.

Content: We started the second day of our trip with a visit to the Pamplemousse garden, an unmissable site in Mauritius! There are many species of plants and trees from all over the world, but also endemic species. It is best to take a guided tour in order to understand the history of the garden and these plants. In addition, do not miss the giant water lilies! The guided tour ended, we stayed in the garden to explore it a little more and we did well, because we came across an enclosure where Java deer lived.

Content: For the third day, we stayed in Flic en Flac to relax on the beach. We did not go in the water because in July it is a bit cold. It is the Austral Winter (the temperature varies between 17°C and 25°C). However, rest assured the winter remains very mild and if you are not as chilly as us, you can enjoy the water. At lunch time, we consumed local. For that, nothing could be simpler because there are many snacks along the beach. The offer is quite varied (kebab, sandwich, local meal) and not expensive.

Content: On the fifth day of our trip, we spent the day at Casela Park. Casela Park is one of the must-see places in Mauritius. The entrance costs 850 rupees or twenty euros and includes access to the park as well as the safari tour. The park also offers a feline corner and various activities with them: photos with lion cubs, walking with lions, interaction with cheetahs, etc. There are several questions about the well-being of felines (are they drugged or not?) which we do not claim to be able to answer, everyone is free to make up their own mind and whether or not to practice this type of interaction. Our impressions of the park are mixed, because if we enjoyed certain activities such as feeding the giraffes, the visit to the giant aviary, the safari tour, other activities seem to us a little less respectful of the well-being of the animals, for example the interaction with farm animals. We have noticed that this corner of the park lacks personnel, thus leaving the field open to certain tourists (young and old) who do not hesitate to disturb the tranquility of the animals, touch them and feed them with anything and everything. despite warning signs. To end your day in style, we recommend that you take a walk in the park, get away from the crowds and take a little height to admire a superb view and why not take the opportunity to take pictures of the sunset.

Content: Our day at Ile aux Cerfs was one of our most beautiful days in Mauritius but also one of the most unpredictable. To get to Ile aux Cerfs from Flic en Flac we took a bus to go to the capital Port Louis. Then we did Port Louis/Trou d'Eau Douce in a brown taxi (individuals who taxi with their vehicles) So we had to get up early because the journey is long (4 hours). Once there, you need to find a nautical agency in order to be able to go to Ile aux Cerfs by speedboat. The sea crossing takes about ten minutes. You will have no trouble finding an agency, there are plenty! Through a friend we opted for the WaterSport agency.
