Our first one had to be cancelled because of bad weather, but the 2nd date worked out. We had to drive 2 hours from Cape Town back to Gansbaii, but the trip was worth it. The tour lasts 2-3 hrs and costs 150 €. If you want you can also just go on the boat without having to go into the cage. I really recommend you to prevent seasickness. Some on the boat had to throw up. Although the sea seemed calm, it has rocked quite violently. 8 people fit in the cage. What I like is that the cage is not completely in the water, so you have the opportunity to dive up and down yourself.

It was rebuilt according to the model of 1923 and exudes an absolute vintage flair. 78 passengers find place here over 2 floors. It is best to book your ticket in advance on the Internet. You travel partly by streetcar and partly by bus, which looks just as nostalgic as the streetcar, from winery to winery. But first you are spoiled for choice. There are many different routes, you must decide in advance for one. Since the lines are always changing, I can not give you a general route. But there are some wineries that you must not miss. You can get off at the wineries that appeal to you and stay as long as you want. Then you look at your schedule and just get back on at the appropriate time. In addition to the wine tastings, you can always order small tasty snacks. Attention: For the tastings at the wineries you have to pay extra. The prices are different but still cheap, means few Euros. Price for the wine streetcar: R260 = approx. 14 €

You can then freely choose the time in this time slot. The ride on the cable car takes about 5 minutes. A bit strange is the feeling that the gondola is 360 degrees inside. So you get a panoramic view. Don't be deterred by bad weather and low clouds. Once at the top, literally wonderful sunshine awaits you above the clouds. If you stay up there long enough, the cloud cover will eventually clear and you will have a great view of Cape Town. You can walk several routes that take different amounts of time. Content: Khayelitsha is one of the largest townships in South Africa about 30 km from Cape Town. I thought a lot about doing this tour. In the end I decided to do it and did a tour with Juma Art Tours. From Siki's Koffe kafe we walked right into the township. Passing a church and a hospital, we turned a corner and entered a large square. Colorfully painted sea containers adorned the square. The main square was a hive of activity. Was I really in a township right now? Loud reggae beats resounded from some containers and ladies got their hair braided by men. For a moment I felt as if I were on the streets of Jamaica. In general, the whole township is bright and colorful. So many great works of art adorn the corrugated iron huts, walls and containers. I am still totally impressed by what talented people live there. The tour was very successful and I felt like I was seeing and experiencing life in the township. We received a friendly welcome and never felt unsafe at any time. How it would have been if we had walked around there without our guide? I can't say. Many different feelings were evoked in me by the tour, good ones, bad ones but also ones that I could not assess. I got to know South Africa from a different and important side. We were deliberately not shown the worst corners and starving children, which I thought was good. They wanted to show us life as it happens. Of course, bad neighborhoods are also part of it, but you don't have to gawk at that.
