Content: Once we arrived in Dubai, we knew there was a possibility to be tested for free at the airport, but for some reasons the security agents didn't allow us to take the test at the airport, hence we had to find by ourselves an alternative. Finally, we found a sample collection point close to the airport, and we went for the PCR paid by ourselves. Results have been sent by SMS the day after.

Content: The day after, we took a taxi to have breakfast in one of the coolest cafeterias of Dubai! Saya Café (located in Al Wasl 51) is the most beautiful coffee shop I have ever seen. The particularity of this place is that in the same area you can experience two drastic environments. 💗From one side, a completely pink fairy world: walls made of flowers and roses, pink blossoms touches all around, plush velvet pink chairs. 🤍 The other side of Saya Café, in contrary, offers a completely different environment. The area is decorated in a 2D design, with amazing drawings, paper plants, black&white chairs and tables. A real paradise for Instagrammers!

Content: The best way to get around the city is to move by taxi, which is reasonable cheap, fast and convenient. Public transportation doesn't work really well as it does not connect every corner of the city. The best app to call for a cab is Careem or Uber (I heard the latter is a bit more expensive). However, if you didn't get a local SIM card to download the app on your phone, do not worry because you can find WiFi almost everywhere in the city. Alternatively, at the airport the passport check they provided us with a tourist SIM card for free, offering 1GB to use within 24h.

Expo is the biggest international exhibition where countries from all over the world showcase their creative minds, innovations and inventions. Expo was supposed to take place in Dubai in 2020 but it was postponed due to the Covid pandemy. It is now open from October 2021 until March 2022. The three main topics are sustainability, Opportunity and mobility. For your information, there is a free bus from the Dubai airport to the Expo2020 and from Expo to Dubai Mall or to the Airport.

Content: One day may certainly not be enough to explore the city, but this was the amount of time I had available, so my advice is to include the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Mosque as the first stop on your visit. Built entirely with Carrara marble from Italy and Macedonia, the mosque is made up of 82 domes and 1100 columns. Inside is the largest carpet in the world - 5000 m2 - created by 1800 women of Iranian origin. And it took 8 years to complete! The architectural design is superb! The domes and columns are decorated with white murble, gold and semi-precious stones. In the main hall is placed the largest chandelier decorated with Swarovski.

Content: It only opened in 2007, and it took 10 years to complete. The mosque today welcomes 42,000 worshipers and is the largest in the UAE and, without a doubt, the most fascinating in my opinion. The most interesting thing is that the mosque is synchronized to follow the phases of the moon. When there is a full moon, the mosque is 100% illuminated.

This misconception is largely diffused among people, but I want to reassure my readers by informing you that admission to this Majestic Mosque is completely free! However, when planning your visit to the Mosque, take into consideration that a strict dress code and rules of conduct apply to all visitors (for women head, wrists and ankles must be covered and it’s allowed to take photos only in specific places marked with a sign).

Content: The last day, we sailed to Sir Bani Yas Island before returning to Dubai and complete our wonderful holiday in the UAE. Unfortunately, the initial plans were to sail to Oman and Qatar to visit Muscat and Doha, but at the beginning on January 2022, the government took new measures to limit covid infections, hence we could not leave the UAE.

Content: Our 24h on the Island were, anyway, pleasant because we had a Jeep Safari to see the wildlife on the island. We could see the natural reserve - the Arabian Wildlife Park - with its roaming giraffes, cheetahs and gazelles. Alternatively, other e interesting activities you can do in the island is Kayaking among the Mangroves trees. In conclusion, visiting the United Arab Emirates is a great opportunity to learn more about Islamic countries, discover their beauty and interesting culture. The best time to visit the UAE is between October and April, as during the summer the weather is extremely hot and unpleasantly humid. Meaning, you would not enjoy your stay. In contrary, I went there in January, which was amazing due to the cool temperatures not exceeding 26 degrees.
