Content: Breathe the peace of the Meiji Jingu, the most important Shrine of Tokyo, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife. Pass the huge torii gates at the entrance and walk surrounded by the sound of nature. We are in the center of the city, but we didn’t feel at all! To pray, clap your hand twice, bow twice, and then again clap your hand. You can also write an ema, a wooden votive tablet, buy an omamori (lucky charm) o choose an omikuji (a fortune teller paper) Free entrance.

Content: It’s so nice strolling around this huge park! Ueno Park is also one of the most popular spot for hanami, the cherry blossom viewing, so don’t miss it if you’re traveling to Tokyo in late March. There are temples and shrines and also many museum, including the Ueno National Museum rich in art and Japanese handcrafts. Great place to stroll around or sit on a bench drinking a matcha latte.

Content: Asakusa is the most traditional area of Tokyo, house of Sensoji, the biggest and oldest temple of Tokyo, famous for its big red lantern. The street that leads to the temple is Nakamise Dori and many shops are aligned here. Now they sell mainly souvenirs and sweet, but most of the shops are owned by the same family than the past, when they use to sell clothes and things for pilgrimage that use to come here to pay a visit at this important temple.
