Content: Jordan is an Arab country full of wonderful scenery and views. After landing in Amman international airport I went directly to the heart of the Wadi Rum Desert where I spent two magic days in a traditional tent.
Content: Sleeping a night in a tent under the wonderful starry sky and watching Bedouin-style food being prepared are certainly among the best things to do and see in Jordan.

Content: Nestled in the heart of the Shara Mountains, Petra is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Built by the Nabataeans more than 2000 years ago, the city was one of the main connecting routes between Mesopotamia and Egypt. The archaeological site of Petra is immense and to visit everything inside it you will need at least 4/5 hours. From the entrance to the monastery (furthest point) there are 8 kilometers and, in the final stretch, about 800 steps. The Treasury (most famous point) is located about 2 kilometers from the main entrance.

Content: Petra la Blanca is located about 14 kilometers away from the more famous Petra, called la Rossa, and is much less known than its older "sister". Nestled within a 450-meter-long canyon, Little Petra is a Nabataean site featuring several buildings carved into the walls and three open areas. Admission is free and its beauty is truly picturesque.

Content: Among the main things to see in Amman, the capital of Jordan, stand out the Citadel (historical site where there are artifacts dating back to different eras and populations) with the Temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace and the Nymphaeum (ancient Roman public fountain).
Content: The ingredients of traditional jordanian cuisine revolve around legumes (chickpeas are very popular), vegetables, herbs, spices and meats, especially red meat and chicken. Don’t miss to taste falafel and hummus, Jordan's national dishes!

Content: There are three Desert Castles in Jordan and they are all located near Amman, about 30-40 minutes from the city center. These are the Kharana Castle (Qasr al-Kharana), the Amra Castle (Quasayr Amra) and the Walid Castle (Qasr Azraq).

Content: Gesara (Jerash) is fully among the must-see things in Jordan and, according to the latest tourist data, is one of the most visited archaeological sites in the country, second only in Petra. The period of maximum splendor of Gerasa dates back to Roman times when in the area there was a vigorous urbanization work with the construction of paved streets, colonnades, temples, thermal baths, theaters, squares and walls with towers and city gates.

Content: Located at a height of 817 meters, Monte Nebo is an important religious site linked to the Jewish-Christian tradition. It is here in fact that, according to the scriptures of Deuteronomy, the prophet Moses had the vision of the Promised Land that God had destined for the chosen people. It is also said that God then buried Moses on this mountain.

Content: Among the things to see in Jordan also stands out Madaba, a town that stands on the ancient Via Regia where once there was the biblical site Medba (Medeba), about half an hour's drive from Amman and not far from Mount Nebo.

Content: Also called the "Sea of Salt", the Dead Sea is actually an immense salt lake located on the border of Jordan, Israel and the West Bank, about 1.5 hours by road from Amman. Characterized by a very high salinity, the Dead Sea is also the lowest point on our earth as it is located about 415 meters below the sea level. In short, among the things to do and see in Jordan, the excursion with bath and mud to the Dead Sea is one of those truly unmissable.

Content: After spending my last day relaxing and swimming in Dead Sea, I returned to Italy. Although it was the end of the amazing Itinerary in Jordan, I was really grateful for all experiences through this lovely country ❤️
