Content: It was a small domestic airport. It was situated at the highest altitude. It was well connected with the major cities in the country. We had breakfast from one of the restaurants at the airport.

Content: We checked in to Panorama Hotel, which was close to Shanti Stupa on Changspa Road. It was a little far from the city so we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Hot water was available whenever required. Their service was good enough. We relaxed for a few hours and by afternoon we visited some nearby places. We spend some time for getting permit for places in Ladakh. It was mandatory to get a permit to visit some remote places.

Content: After lunch, we headed to Leh Palace. It is the most iconic building in the city. Royal Shrine was one room not to be missed. It was a place where the royal family worshipped; moreover it was a highlighted part of the palace.

Content: We headed towards Shanti Stupa, which was very close to Leh Palace. We clicked amazing pictures on the backdrop of the surrounding mountains. The architectural style makes it a unique attraction in Leh. The Stupa has the image of Lord Buddha and the walls are carved with colorful relics that depict some events of Lord Buddha's life. We saw the sight of the Stupa at night, with the lights kept on, is a splendid one and should not be missed.

Content: We visited a small market near Shanti Stupa. It was a street market with many shops lined. We find shoes, clothes, jewelry, and local street foods. We brought Tibetan shawls and some dry fruits.

Content: It was an open-air restaurant, which serves tasty and budget-friendly food. There are local varieties of dishes, we had momos and thukpa. We returned to the hotel.

Content: After breakfast, we headed towards the Sham region. It is also known as Apricot valley. We planned for a quick visit to the attractions on the way.

Content: The monastery was located at Fiang Village. It was also home to a 900 years old museum. In the museum, we found a lot of idols and varieties of weapons.

Content: We headed to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, which was right on the Srinagar Leh Highway. It was a Gurudwara constructed and maintained by the Indian Army.

Magnetic Hill

Content: The Magnetic Hill was located between the Himalayan and Karakoram ranges. There is a large board put up by the Indian Army to spot Magnetic Hill. It was believed that this part has some sort of magnetic property that pulls the car towards, even if the car was in neutral. We had a great experience.

Content: We headed towards Nimmu Village; there are plenty of local shops on the roadside. We had some local food. We ate samosa from a small shop which crispy and crunchy.

Sangam Point

Content: We moved to Sangam Point which is near to Nimmu Village. It was a significant point where the famous confluence of two rivers, the Indus River coming from the left and the Zanskar River coming from the right. It was attractive as green water comes from Indus and muddy water from the Zanskar merged here.

Content: We headed to Basgo monastery, which is a nice place to visit. The building includes the ruins of the castle and a Monastery and is noted for the Buddha statues and old Murals. A small walk took us to Monastery were three Buddha temples located. It was too dark so we stopped and return to car.

Content: We returned to the hotel. As per the request they kept food at the room. Today we opt for vegetarian food. The food was not up to our expectation.

Content: We checked out the hotel and headed towards Nubra Valley via Khardung La. We took an early start from Leh so that we got much time to explore the valley. Our first destination was Khardung La.

Content: We reached Khardung La Pass, known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys in the Ladakh region. We saw many tourists crossing over from Leh and stopped here to click photos. At the top of Khardung La Pass, there is a small cafeteria, which offers black tea. We enjoyed a cup of tea and beautiful Himalayan peaks around.

Content: We reached Nubra Valley which is so mysterious place with beautiful valleys. The road was very challenging for us. The pleasant and little warm climate made our journey comfortable. We saw many double hump camels. We enjoyed the pleasant valley. Due to lack of time, we headed to the next destination.

Diskit Gompa

Content: We reached Diskit, the main attraction of the place is Diskit Gompa. There is a Deity in the Gompa holding a mummified human forearm and head. It was a popular tourist destination from where we viewed a spectacular view of Nubra Valley from its roof.

Content: We checked in to Hunder Sarai Resort. The accommodation was warm and comfortable. The beds are in good quality and hot water facilities are there. It was located at the base of the mountains with a river running through. The hotel was well maintained. We had dinner from the hotel itself.

Content: We had a continental breakfast from the hotel and headed towards Hunder Sand Dunes. It is known as “The Desert in the Sky”. These sand dunes are located between Hunder and Diskit villages. We saw an amazing site of white sands.

Content: Our first activity at Hunder Sand Dunes was camel safari. We saw two-humped camels which is a rare animal, only in Nubra valley, in India. We enjoyed camel safari.

Content: Panamik Village located on the bank of Nubra River makes the place look even more attractive. This place is famous for its Pashmina goats and two humps Bactrian camels.

Content: We had some snacks and headed towards Hot spring. The spring water contains high amount of sulphur and it is believed best for curing rheumatism. The villagers have built small bathrooms around the spring where you can take a dip in the refreshing water.

Ensa Gompa

Content: It is an old Monastery, located near Panamik on top of a rock that overlooks the snow-filled mountains of Nubra valley. The Gompa has Buddhist murals, which are the main attractions of the monastery.

Content: After breakfast, we headed towards Leh old town. Throughout valley we stopped at some places and took photos.

Content: We reached Leh and checked in the hotel. The hotel was simple and elegant offered beautiful views of the valleys all around us. The rooms were clean and neat. Their food was simple and tasty. We explored the beauty of hotel and surroundings. We had lunch from the hotel.

Content: After lunch from the hotel we headed towards the Central Asian Museum. This museum was located at the heart of Leh town. It is a good place to learn the culture and history of Ladakh and a must-visit when you are in Leh. The museum is located in a courtyard along with a traditional Ladakhi show-kitchen and the oldest mosque, Masjid Sharif in Leh. The complex is also famous for the old sacred tree also known as the Datun Sahib.

Content: We decided to taste Tibetan food. We reached The Tibetan Kitchen, which was near to the airport. They offer a good range of Tibertian ethical food. The thukpa was amazing and ordered the spicy lamb from the Tibetan menu page. The food was impressive and tasty.

Content: This day was so exciting, we started from the hotel early in the morning. This day was dedicated to a road trip to the most famous and attractive place in Leh Ladakh. We traveled for 6 hours to reach Pangong Lake but the trip was so excited not entertaining.

Content: When we entered the valley, we could see small beautiful villages. The old Ladhaki houses are beautiful architecture. It was made of stone and brick wall with a wooden ceiling. We reached Changla la which is the third highest motorable road in India. We reached Pangong Lake that was a major attraction in the Ladhak region. We reached the lake which was so beautiful and mind-blowing. It was enclosed by tall mountain peaks. The lake was looking extraordinary. The main feature of the lake is the mix of colors. It has deep water that changes color every moment from deep blue to light blue to green to gray. We took many pictures on the backdrop of mountains and lakes. We spend only 3 hours but that was so worthwhile on our trip.

Content: We reached airport on time. It was situated at the highest altitude. It was well connected with the major cities in the country. We spend holiday together. We wished to visit once again.
