Content: We arrived to Amman midday and as soon as we got cleared out of the airport got a rented car. Highly recommend doing so to get alot faster around the country. Then we drove directly straight to The dead sea where we were going to explore the next day.

Content: On this day, we took the car from the Hilton and drove to the Canyon Wadi Mujib where we spend the whole day. It was probably the highly of the trip! Super fun! Highly recommend it, it is only open in summer time.

Content: After a whole day swimming in the natural canyon we went back to the hotel to relax.

Content: We departed early from the Hilton near the dead sea, the lowest point on earth towards Petra the Lost City.

Content: We decided to arrive to Petra at evening to beat the crowds. I informed myself well in advance that the best time to go is actually after 2.00 pm. And as you can see there were not that many people. The walk to get there is around 30 min from the entrance. Please purchase tickets in advance.

Content: Then be aware that if you want to see Petra by night, they do not do the show every day. Only happens twice a week and we decided to go on that Wednesday. We waited in line for 1 hour in order to be the first ones and we managed !!! It is an incredible experience! You have to buy a separate ticket for this one. Completly worth it. It is magical.

Content: We also wanted to go to the Monastery in the Lost city. However it is a 2 hour hike from the Entrance. So in perspective you have to do the same circute throught Petra to get to the monastery and then head back the same way. As we are adventurous people. We were talking to some locals and they said there was another way so we dont have to go back the same hike. We did not hesitate for one second taking on the other route. So this guy contacted a friend of his so he could drives us at 6 am throught the back entrance of the Lost City. At 6 am we were picked up by this guy. Little did we know what we got into.. So we were dropped in the middle of no where and there was absolutly no one. No signs, nothing. The taxi guy just said « go ahead, hike up, when you see a curve head to the right». Well so we started walking and walking without any signs, no signal, just nothing. There was a point where we started to get worry, because it was in the middle of the wildness. If something happened, no one would know. At the end, after walking straight into some bushes and some pretty scary mountain ( which we hiked all the way up) we saw a sign. I must say the hike was scary at first but beautiful. We walked with stones in our hands in case some animal came up to us. I do not recommend taking on this route. Took us 1 h and a half but we were the first ones arriving to the monastery.

Content: We woke up early and explore the city of Aqaba. We also visited the Gran Mosque in Aqaba. There we met some locals and got offered the most delicious and fresh dates I’ve ever tried.

Content: Then we continue our drive into the Wadi Rum desert, which is also called Mars on Earth.

Content: Then we headed to do some Glamping in the middle of Mars at Wadi Rum. The hotel is absolutly stunning !! We spended the rest of the evening there.
