Day 3 - 11 Apr 2022
Content: Discounted entry can be purchased in advance when booking Jordan pass. Site not accessible by private car - must use official shuttle bus with guide. Very interesting area, not just for its historical significance (where Jesus was baptized by John) but also because it is a border area with Israel.
Day 3 - 11 Apr 2022
Content: The river is very much smaller than I imagined.

Day 4 - 12 Apr 2022
Content: Awesome salt deposits along the sea shore. A scenic place for a dip but no showers. Swimming at the hotel beach is definitely more convenient.
Day 4 - 12 Apr 2022
Content: The resort’s private beach is a perfect spot for a float in the Dead Sea. There is also some mud you can lather up with before going in the water. Showers are located both on the beach and on the way up the hill to the resort.
Day 5 - 13 Apr 2022
Content: Petra is fantastic but also quite touristy. The site is huge and the crowds disperse. Prepare for lots of walking, wear comfortable clothes and bring water. Food and drinks are available throughout the site. Jordan pass makes it easy to enter.
Content: There are lots of folks trying to get the tourist dollar. Different modes of transportation is offered: camels, donkeys or golf carts. Of course good old-fashioned walking is also possible. Prepared to get tired. We walked about 16k this day.
Content: The road to the monastery is long and narrow with lots of steps and you will have to share it with (and navigate the droppings of) mules and donkeys. The view of the building at the end of the trail is definitely worth the trek. There is a restaurant to sit and admire the view while having a drink or an ice cream.
Day 5 - 13 Apr 2022
Content: After a long drive from Petra we arrived in Wadi Rum and were met by our guide who took us to the overnight camp. This is definitely glamping with comfy beds, air conditioning and a full bathroom with each “tent“. We had a fantastic dinner and hung out by the fire taking story.
Day 6 - 14 Apr 2022
Content: We opted for a 4-hour desert safari offered by our camp. It was a private tour on the back of a pickup truck (ours came with shade unlike many others we saw) just for the 4 of us. We did some sand boarding which was fun on the way down but pretty tiring climbing back up.
Day 6 - 14 Apr 2022
Content: We got to visit many sites around Wadi Rum, quite a few related to Lawrence of Arabia.
Day 6 - 14 Apr 2022
Content: Mohamed was a great guide, we had a fun time in exploring the desert.
Day 6 - 14 Apr 2022
Content: I highly recommend this place.
Day 7 - 15 Apr 2022
Content: We spent our last full day in Aqaba by the Red Sea. There are a few different beaches to explore though they all look pretty similar.
Content: Our last two nights were spent at this hotel. It’s a good value with a wonderful breakfast buffet. We had connecting rooms here too.
Day 8 - 16 Apr 2022
Content: On our last day we drove back from Aqaba to Amman for our flight. Found this store at a mall with a huge selection of American candy.
