Day 1 - 11 Apr 2019
Content: Arrived Kathmandu via Istanbul from Dulles through Turkish airlines. The airport itself is quite centrally located for access to Kathmandu itself with transfers to most hotels only taking 15-20 minutes depending upon traffic.
Content: Excellent hotel it was, an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. As from next day was on trek for rest of my trip i took a luxury hotel to take good rest for first day.
Content: After attending pre trip meeting I head to the hotel's restaurant Thamel Kitchen. The Buffet seems to change daily and offers Nepali, Indian and other food.
Day 2 - 12 Apr 2019
Content: It was 35 minutes scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla. I recommand opting for flight rather than any other mode. It was worth paying.
Content: Upon arrival at the airport our guide brief us and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding. After landing we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sorts and loads our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Koshi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar located just above Chaunrikharka. The walking is easy and after passing through the small village of Ghat it is a short walk to Phakding.
Day 2 - 12 Apr 2019
Content: Perfect beginning to the Trek. Beautiful king-sized bed with electric blanket.
Content: Nice little restaurant. Good food. Very friendly service and people.
Day 3 - 13 Apr 2019
Content: We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar known as the Gateway to Everest, is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchanges, internet cafes and a bakeries. Namche is one of the biggest villages along the whole Everest trail.
Content: Never expected to find such a good place to stay high in the mountain. Free hot shower of your own. Electric blanket to keep you warm while you sleep. A flask of hot water in your room to keep you warm.
Content: Kancha Sherpa is the last remaining climbing Sherpa from the 1953 Everest Expedition. Kancha has been on many adventures on Island peak. You can visit Kancha at the Nirvana Lodge in Namche Bazaar and pay 500 rupees for story time with Kancha. One of the guide will join the team to be a translator for Kancha.
Content: Super tasty food they served with very good service. Best were the momos in all.
Day 4 - 14 Apr 2019
Content: We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air. Today we hike up the Syangboche Airport around Everest View Hotel. From this point we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks.
Content: This is the original Namche Bar with T-shirts from Everest Expeditions on the wall. You can watch Everest movies or the amazing Sherpa documentary, have a cake and coffee and play pool. Remember not to have any Everest beer until your way back down the trail.
Content: Take a stroll up to the Sherpa Museum beside the military compound. You can walk through and learn about the Sherpa culture, Sagarmatha National Park and the Everest Region of Nepal. You will find a massive statue of Tenzing Norway with views of Mount Everest in the background and also rocks from the bottom of the world and top of Everest.
Day 5 - 15 Apr 2019
Content: The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi with magnificent views of the mountains. We trek to an altitude of 3,860 meters today. On reaching Tengboche you will see the local monastery. Inside the monastery are incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Content: This was a decent place to stay. Only 3 mins from monastery. Staff was helpful and place was clean
Content: We came to monastery to observe prayer ceremony. It was great experience
Content: I highly recommend anyone to take a stroll to Tomodachi, especially if you’re exhausted from trekking. It serves authentic Japanese food. Must try Tempura set.
Day 6 - 16 Apr 2019
Content: From Tengboche the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We take our time so we avoid getting affected by the altitude. Took us almost 6 hours to reach Dingboche.
Content: Really enjoyed my stay here. The staff is attentive and upbeat. The rooms are pretty warm considering the environment.
Content: Himalya Cafe service is great on many levels. The best view that we can see from Cafe Himalaya. I enjoyed the lovely food. I would recommend all the trekkers to visit Cafe Himalaya located at Dingboche.
Day 7 - 17 Apr 2019
Content: Today is set for acclimatization. Especially, when going on high altitude we need to take a rest in order to adapt in a new environment and prevent altitude sickness. On this day we take a short hike to Nangkartshang peak for astounding views of gorgeous Ama Dablam.
Content: It is advice able to stay at Dingboche rather than going to Duhgla.
Content: In the evening, we stroll around the village or you can take a rest. Along the way, we see farmlands surrounded by stone walls to protect food crops grown there.
Day 8 - 18 Apr 2019
Content: The trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits.We continue to climb as we are heading to the altitude of 4,910 meters at Lobuche which is really just a few huts at the foot of giant Lobuche peak. Some breathing problems may arise today due to the altitude.
Content: The lady running it is incredibly nice and attentive to her clients. Double glazed windows. Really clean and warm compared to the other lodges.
Content: Wonderful food, had roasted chicken after so many days.
Day 9 - 19 Apr 2019
Content: This is another big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 meters, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. There will likely be a team about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak Shep for the night. It was 8 hours long hike.
Day 9 - 19 Apr 2019
Content: The rooms are quite good with more or less clean linens. In day time you have to use toilets which are outside hotel building.
Day 10 - 20 Apr 2019
Content: This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of the morning in this day is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar. The climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest the highest point on the planet. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet at 5,180 meters then trek down to Periche.
Content: Warmer carpeted rooms and nice tea house.Hot shower. At this altitude you gotta stay here. Owner is particular and very clean. And the staff were absolutely hospitable.
Day 11 - 21 Apr 2019
Content: From Periche we take a slightly different route down to Orsho, then to Pangboche village. Here is the oldest monastery in the region which contains what is said to be the scalp and bones of a 'Yeti', or the abominable snowman. Leaving mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Tengboche Monastery before continuing back to the town of Namche Bazaar. We reached in afternoon to Namche Bazaar.
Content: We came back to Namche bazar and stayed to same place as we booked in advance and we had good experience before.
Day 12 - 22 Apr 2019
Content: Finally we return to Lukla where the trek began, which will seem like a lifetime ago; enjoying time to reflect on the solo trek.
Content: Honestly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. No hot water, owner was rude and food was pathetic
Content: Specially after the cold and very high mountain walk every trekkers want to have warm and lovely coffee soup the have a hot drinks and relax. Step Cafe De Basecamp to get the wonderful service and food as well
Day 13 - 23 Apr 2019
Content: Enjoying your last glimpse of the mountains you have recently visited for one last time on the 35 minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
Content: Best time it was as the length of grass was less, making the animals visible easily. Jeep safari and elephant safari available. Both would be super existing, photography is not allowed at checkpoint.
Content: Sun Kosi is a classic and a favourite among rafters and kayakers alike. We had super experience doing white water rafting.
Content: After a day long excursion in Kathmandu had relaxed evening in this wonderful hotel. And dinner served in there restaurant was mind blowing.
Day 14 - 24 Apr 2019
Content: The trip ends. We left for Airport to catch flight which was at 12.30.
