Content: Travelling with Sri Lankan Airlines from India is a cozy experience. The Sri Lanka Airport is pretty smooth, after arriving I had a drive arranged from my hostel in Negombo. Negombo is actually closer to the airport than Colombo.

Content: Negombo is a town less chaotic than Colombo so I come here directly from the airport. Negombo lagoon is the closest with its lake but the beach is also nearby.
Day 2 - 20 Jan 2022
Content: Because of places like this I will return to Sri Lanka. This cozy hostel in Bentota is pretty creative designed, the coconut tree grows inside the house. Several caves, beautiful garden near the river with free breakfast and dinner to pay give the fantastic place to stay. It's a bit outside of the centre but I took tuk-tuk from the train station.
Content: Our host Himesh took us the Bentota beach where we enjoy sunrise and watching the surfing. We're getting new guests soon and they're joining us at the beach.

Content: Brief garden is located 10 km away from Bentota so we went with the hostel's tuk-tuk. It's the country home of Bevis Bawa which is a place full of fantasy. The large variety of trees merge with the fantastic landscape design.The exotic plants and meadows are the home to fascinating sculptures. We can also see some paintings depicting Sri Lanka history indoors.
Content: Kande Viharaya Temple is the main Buddhist temple near Aluthgama town. It's built on a top of a hill where big Buddha dominates, one of the tallest in the world. Established in the 1734, now this is a popular archaeological site.
Day 4 - 22 Jan 2022
Content: Unawatuna is my next destination and Camp Kush is located near the train station. Breakfast is free, dinner and lunch are available at affordable prices. Lovely tipis, tree houses and nice bungalows are set in this idyllic place. Yoga classes are held daily as well as other activities like Saturday parties.
Content: Unawatuna is so charming and full of street art. It's my favourite coastal town at Sri Lanka. So many souvenir shops and cozy bars are located near the beach.

Content: Galle is a historic town filled with Dutch heritage, it's very close to Unawatuna around 20 minutes. Galle lighthouse is its most recognizable sign.

Content: Dalawella is a stunning beach within 45 minutes walking from the Unawatuna centre. The crystal clear sea makes it one of the best beaches in the area. It's known by Dalawela swing which flows from one palm tree.

Content: It's such a lovely hostel near the beach, cozy garden and free breakfast. Love the images on the walls and atmosphere.

Content: The actual name of this place is Palm Villa Peacock, located on the road towards Coconut Hill in Mirissa. I couldn't find the right name on Travogram. It's the most impressive mural in Mirissa which is filled with beautiful street art.

Content: Coconut Hill is one of the most famous spots in Mirissa. It takes 20 minutes by walking from the centre, either by road or near the beach. If you go near the beach, at some places you need to cross the water. Many people gather here to watch the sunset. Don't miss it if you're in Mirissa.

Content: The Secret beach is not so secret anymore but maybe because of the location is called Secret. It's a bit secluded, around 30 minutes walking from the centre of Mirissa. There to two ways to reach it, following the central beach in Mirissa through the forest (you will see the signs) or on the other side which takes the asphalt road pretty near. You can buy some coconuts here and just enjoy the crystal clear sea.

Content: Lovely hostel is near the train station and beautiful hill with tea plantations. Love the cozy backyard and free plantations, it's also pretty cheap.
Content: Ella is a cute mountain town which fascinates at the first view. It's filled with the famous tea plantations of Sri Lanka. This hill is placed near train station and my hostel.

Content: Little Adam's Peak is a fabulous viewpoint in Ella. The hike is not difficult and surpasses the Zip Adventure spot, amazing tea plantations and coconut sellers.

Content: This attractive hotel is located near the entrance point to the Little Adam's Peak. It features the fabulous pool, hot tubes and cozy rooms. The hotel embraced by the flowers, who would resist to the stunning views?
Content: Nine Arch Bridge is the most famous landmark of Ella. You can follow the road from Little Adam's Peak (30-40 minutes) or the rail line after the train station. Everybody's walking on the bridge which looks just fabulous.

Content: Ella Rock is one of the beautiful viewpoints at Sri Lanka, it takes 3-5 hours and isn't very difficult. There are not clear directions on the road but happy locals will help around. It's about 10km mostly straight

Content: Excellent restaurant near the train station always has the large line to enter. I ate the delicious cauliflower curry. They even have a cooking workshops.

Content: Don't miss the legendary Ella-Kandy train or viceversa. People always lean by the window and crowds are common. That's why go at first at 7h from Ella. Fascinating landscape follow the way.

Content: Kandy backpackers is located 1km from the Kandy Lake. The outdoor pool is pretty lovely and solar green energy is here. Cooking classes are also available.
Content: Peradeniya Gardens are located on the surburbs of Kandy, pretty rich with botanical treasure. They're known by the collection of orchids. Unfortunately, didn't have much time to explore Kandy.
Day 10 - 28 Jan 2022
Content: Goodbye Sri Lanka, hopefully I will visit soon again. I missed so much and wanted to stay longer.
