Content: After you arrive in Colombia you can use the buses to get around the city. You’ll also use these buses to get from beach to beach on this list. Just stand near the road to hail them.
Content: Along this shopping street you’ll find lots of fun wares as well as the red mosque. You could spend the whole day eating and shopping in this market.
Content: This is the best Kottu in Colombo. Grab a plate to share and some fresh lime juice to wash it down. Also it’s not a “hotel” per say. Very authentic local restaurant.

Content: You can also get around the city via train. Be sure to check out the lotus tower while you’re exploring.

Content: A family-friendly beach area with lovely beachside restaurants and cheap treehouse cabanas. We booked the cheap regular room but if it’s available you should spring for the treehouse.

Content: A great French restaurant for after you spend the day on the beach. You take a fun little man-powered raft across the moat at high tide.
Content: This teeny local spot is one of the rare beaches that’s good for swimming in the area. Great to watch the sunset. The walk through the jungle is nice too.

Content: Good not great sushi. But the best you’ll get in Sri Lanka.
Content: The best sunset spot. Only accessible via low tide unless you want to wade through the waves.
Content: AMAZING FOOD. & the nicest owners. Definitely worth the walk.
Day 10 - 1 Mar 2020
Content: Spend your early morning watching for grey and fin whales with this amazing tour company. They are the only ethical choice in the area for whale watching.
Content: Not much of a secret and pretty Rocky. But it’s a nice walk and a scenic beach.
Content: Come early or late for sunrise/sunset and get photos without loads of people in them.

Content: Rent snorkel gear here to get up close to turtles and sting rays.

Content: Explore the fort, shopping district and lighthouse area. Galle is on the water but not super beachy.

Content: Come at sunrise to watch all the fish get laid out from the hundreds of boats that come ashore. Quite the spectacle.
