Day 1 - 25 Nov 2021
Content: Welcome to Phuket 😀 After a long flight we’ve arrived to Phuket. The airport was well organised even during the pandemic. Right outside the airport there was the hotel transfer.
Content: We chose Dewa Resort for our quarantine. We only had to wait for the PCR result. In the meantime, we could enjoy our private pool. The hotel facilities are good although they need some maintenance.
Content: As we were still waiting for our PCR result we ordered dinner and it was really good.
Day 2 - 26 Nov 2021
Content: In the morning we were free to walk around as our PCR was negative 😀 We enjoyed breakfast in our hotel and walked around the facilities.
Day 2 - 26 Nov 2021
Content: Our next hotel was in a different island - Koh Yao Yai. To get there we had to go by car and then by boat. We used the hotel transfers and it could be better organised. The hotel is beautiful and we loved it. A very elegant Thai style hotel. As the hotel is located on a hill they provide free shuttles between the rooms and the public areas.
Content: We had something to eat at the hotel restaurant. Good quality but don’t expect a big dish.
Content: The weather wasn’t that good. It was the end of the rainy season. So we enjoyed our wonderful room and the outside bathtub with a view. The best way to finish the day!
Day 3 - 27 Nov 2021
Content: Nothing better than starting the day with an amazing breakfast enjoying a breathtaking view. Who doesn’t love a good breakfast?
Content: We rented a car at the hotel to explore the island. We went to Laem Had Beach to see the sandbank but found it a bit disappointing. Maybe we should blame the grey weather. We still recommend the experience.
Content: We can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Super fresh fish and seafood. Staff was very friendly. INSIDER TIP: Arrive at noon if you don’t want to wait for a table. The place is very popular.
Day 3 - 27 Nov 2021
Content: As we returned to the hotel we enjoyed some quality time at the beautiful infinity pool of Santhiya and at the beach.
Content: We are sunset lovers so we ended our day watching the sun going down on our balcony having a 🛀 Is there a better way to end the day?!
Day 4 - 28 Nov 2021
Content: On our last morning at Santhiya we explored the rest of the pools. They have this super cute “boats” in the pool. Too cute to handle.
Content: As we left Koh Yao Yai we used the hotel transfers. We took a boat and then a van to the airport where we would pick our rental car.
Day 4 - 28 Nov 2021
Content: We picked up our car at the airport and drove to Patong Beach. We left our luggage and went straight to Bangla Road to explore. Bangla is a very crowded street (even during the pandemic) where you can find shops, places to eat and several bars.
Day 4 - 28 Nov 2021
Content: If you want to have street food you have a bunch of places to choose from. We had great food at Namo and right in front of it you can get your desert - a fresh made chocolate Roti.
Day 4 - 28 Nov 2021
Content: This hotel was brand new and we loved the decor. We had an upgrade and loved it. Thumbs up for the beautiful bathroom.
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: Today is tour day - Phang Nga Bay Tour with Crystal Sea Marine. We were picked up at our hotel by a van that would take us to the pier.
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: In about 30 minutes we arrived to Crystal Sea Marine facilites. We had some snacks and received more informations about our day tour.
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: Our first stop was Panak Island. We walked inside of some caves and saw a lot of interesting rock formations.
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: Second stop: canoeing in Hong Island. The weather wasn’t good at all, very grey and shy. But the bay is still very beautiful.
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: As it started raining we went to Panyee Island. This island is very unique as it’s a floating village originally build by the sea gypsies. The village has houses, shops, a school and it’s own football field. We had lunch in the island. It was a buffet lunch but there weren’t many choices to eat 😞
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: Next stop was James Bond Island. This island gets its name from the fact that a James Bond movie was recorded here. Here you can see the famous rock and also the leaning rock after an earthquake. We were still supposed to stop in Naka Island to relax and swim but it was raining so much that we had to skip it.
Day 5 - 29 Nov 2021
Content: We have this travel tradition 🤫 We always try McDonalds in our trips. Yeah, you can call us crazy 😜
Content: Always end your day by doing sometimes that relaxes you. We can’t resist a bathtub 🛁
Day 6 - 30 Nov 2021
Content: We really recommend you to stay at Skyview. The hotel is very good and the staff is really sweet. This was our farewell breakfast 🥰
Content: We spent the morning in Patong Beach, Phuket’s most popular beach. The beach is very big and the sea is so warm. We were there during the pandemic so it wasn’t crowded as it usually is. In the coming days we would find amazing beaches that can be an alternative if you don’t want many people around 😉
Day 6 - 30 Nov 2021
Content: Our next stop was Coconut Island - an island east from Phuket Island. Honestly, don’t lose your time and don’t stay here! We were looking for a romantic spot and the hotel is very beautiful, but the staff was very rude to us and we had a bunch of problems like no hot water and bugs in the room.
Day 6 - 30 Nov 2021
Content: We tried to make the most of our time there. The beach is also not good in our opinion. The sea is not clear as in Phuket Island and there is garbage in the hotel beach.
Day 6 - 30 Nov 2021
Content: We ordered dinner from room service and it was very good. The food was great 👍🏼
Day 7 - 1 Dec 2021
Content: After breakfast we left our hotel and drove to Phuket Old Town. The Old Town is so worth it. Very colourful and with super photogenic buildings. Here are our highlights: - Golden Dragon - Clock tower - Thalang road - Fountain circle - Sangram Shrine - Yaowarat road - Wat mongkhon nimit - Jui Tui Shrine
Day 7 - 1 Dec 2021
Content: Then we drove to our next location: Chalong Temple. It’s a complex of several Buddhist temples all very golden. Admission: free
Content: Another drive to Big Buddha, the highest panoramic viewpoint where you can have a 360º view of Phuket. Don’t miss it!! You can also see the white marble Buddha statue on the top of the hill. We drove there ourselves but the road is very steep. So if you are not a confident driver, consider taking a taxi ou joining a tour. Admission: free
Day 7 - 1 Dec 2021
Content: The hotel we choose was Aurico and we do recommend it. Comfortable and beautiful facilities. Yes, good cocktails as well 🍹 The surroundings are very safe and we found a lot of restaurants and massage places.
Day 7 - 1 Dec 2021
Content: Never miss a sunset 🌅 This one was at Kata Beach and was beautiful 😍
Day 7 - 1 Dec 2021
Content: We went for a Thai Massage and this place was very good and professional. Price: 200THB for a full body massage (it was a promo price)
Content: For local food and juices go to Red Corner!! We had a red snapper and squid and it was super good. For the juice the lady recommended dragonfruit with mango 🔝
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: After breakfast we headed for a full day exploring beaches and viewpoints. This is Kata beach. It’s a lovely beach and one of our favourite. It has white sand and blue sea. You can enjoy the view on a small swing.
Content: The small sister of Kata is Kata Noi. Even more beautiful and secluded. If you can afford it there is a wonderful hotel there - The Shore. (We only enjoyed the view of the hotel from the beach 😛)
Content: Next stop is a viewpoint where you can see three beaches: Karon, Kata and Kata Noi. As a plus you can see Ko Pu island 😀 INSIDER TIP: climb all the stairs. Up there the view is better and it’s less crowded
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: Next stop was Rawai beach. We don’t advice going here for swimming because the water was not very clear and there are lots of boats. But you should come here for the market. 👇🏽
Content: For us Rawai is all about this market and the seafood. The plan is simple: you buy the fish and the seafood on the right hand side of the market and then you have it cooked in the restaurants on the left hand side. We are at Khun Pha restaurant and loved it 🤤
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: Even though this is one of the most famous viewpoints of Phuket we didn’t like it. When we arrived the gates were closed and we could not enter the cape, but the view wasn’t the best in our opinion.
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: The windmill viewpoint is very beautiful and has its own parking lot. From there you can see Nai Harn beach (right) and Yanui beach (left). Don’t miss it
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: BOOK THIS HOTEL FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE 😀 This is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Honestly. We checked in and we’re given an upgrade. The hotel is beautiful, the room is amazing and the view is priceless. Really nothing to complain about!!
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: We went to this amazing restaurant. We were really happy because it has great quality sushi (we are super picky with sushi) and awesome meat. If you are looking for a different dinner this is the place.
Day 8 - 2 Dec 2021
Content: We ended our night at local market Chillva. There you can shop almost everything and you can also have some food. As we have eaten before we only had a roll icecream.
Day 9 - 3 Dec 2021
Content: We started the day enjoying the tasty breakfast of the Nai Harn and the view from our room. This hotel is so beautiful 😍
Day 9 - 3 Dec 2021
Content: The Nai Harn beach is a must go. It’s a nice bay with warm water. There isn’t many people there except for those staying in the area.
Content: Yanui is a cute beach. It’s specially worth it for it’s natural beauty as it has many rock formations 📸 and for snorkelling lovers 🤿
Content: Karon beach is Phuket’s second largest beach but it’s not crowded as Patong is. It’s a big and beautiful beach with golden sand 😀
Day 9 - 3 Dec 2021
Content: We tried some off the beaten track beaches and went to Merlin Beach. Honestly we didn’t like it and didn’t even stay there. We went when it was low tide and there were so many rocks… maybe when the tide is high it’s a good beach 🤷🏻♀️ 🤷🏻♂️
Day 9 - 3 Dec 2021
Content: Another fail on our itinerary 😞 We went to this waterfall but there wasn’t a lot of water. It’s a good spot if you like trails and being in the nature, but we prefer Phuket beaches. Admission: free
Day 9 - 3 Dec 2021
Content: Kamala is a nice and wide beach. It was not our favourite because the water was not so clear as others.
Day 9 - 3 Dec 2021
Content: We loved Surin Beach and it’s a great spot for sunset. You can’t imagine how many people arrived to see the sun go down 😀 INSIDER TIP: there is a small temple near the beach
Content: We had this amazing dinner at Yuzu. We chose the salmon buffet a la cart. For drinks we had Asahi beer and green tea.
Day 10 - 4 Dec 2021
Content: Today is tour day 😀 DON’T MISS THIS TOUR We woke up at 6AM and the van picked us up at our hotel at 7PM. At 08.30AM we arrived to Fantastic Similan where we had some snacks and a quick briefing. There were bags with beach towels and snorkelling gear for everyone who needed it.
Day 10 - 4 Dec 2021
Content: The Similan Islands archipelago have 9 islands. This is Koh 8 (Koh means island in thai). This is the bluest seas we’ve ever seen. It looks like a filter but it has absolutely no editing 😱
Day 10 - 4 Dec 2021
Content: You can climb 200 meters to the viewpoint where you have this unbelievable view 😍
Day 10 - 4 Dec 2021
Content: The boat was very comfortable and we really recommend Fantastic Similan agency.
Day 10 - 4 Dec 2021

Day 11 - 5 Dec 2021

Day 11 - 5 Dec 2021
Content: Beautiful and secluded beach with pine trees.
Day 11 - 5 Dec 2021
Content: Welcome to Banana Beach, our favourite beach of Phuket. You have to walk about 10 minutes to reach this beach but it’s SO WORTH IT!! It’s a lovely beach to relax, snorkel and eat 😋
Day 11 - 5 Dec 2021
Content: We loved this beach and we had it all to ourselves. The only downside is that there is no shadow at all.
Day 11 - 5 Dec 2021
Content: We drove to the north and left the island os Phuket to visit Khao Lak in the next days. Finally we check in at our hotel. We loved it and the staff is super professional. You can book it and you’ll surely be taken care of.
Day 12 - 6 Dec 2021
Content: We loved the breakfast at Le Meridien Khao Lak. Good quality and variety
Day 12 - 6 Dec 2021
Content: We spent the day relaxing and enjoying the hotel beach. This is not the best beach of Khao Lak but it’s very convenient.
Day 12 - 6 Dec 2021
Content: The hotel facilities are very beautiful. We also had a chance to relax by the pool.
Content: Best moment: sunset + cocktails
Day 12 - 6 Dec 2021
Content: We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the hotel. We recommend the pork ribs bbq and spaghetti carbonara.
Day 13 - 7 Dec 2021
Content: We left our hotel in the morning in order to explore some more beaches in Khao Lak.
Day 13 - 7 Dec 2021
Content: White Sand Beach is very nice but be aware that when the tide is high there is almost no sand to lay down.
Day 13 - 7 Dec 2021
Content: Coconut beach is similar to the previous one. Actually, it’s like an extension.
Day 13 - 7 Dec 2021
Content: This beach is also known as Lighthouse beach and was our favourite beach of Khao Lak. Such a beautiful gold sand and clear and warm sea 😃
Day 13 - 7 Dec 2021
Content: We chose this hotel due to its Thai style. It’s right in front to Natai beach and it’s wonderful for a romantic stay. Check the last picture for the outside area 😍
Content: We spent the rest of the day at the infinity pool and stayed until the sunset
Content: We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and the food was really good 👍🏼
Day 14 - 8 Dec 2021
Content: DON’T MISS THIS!!! This was one of the most wonderful experience we’ve ever had 🥰 We woke up early to catch the sunrise at this viewpoint. We had a rental car so we drove there (it was super easy) but you can go by taxi. Admission: - 30thb if you want to hike by foot (we don’t recommend it because the road is too steep and rocky) - 90thb to go up by van (this is our recommendation)
Day 14 - 8 Dec 2021
Content: We got back to our hotel to have breakfast and rest a bit
Content: The rest of the day we just relaxed at the beach and by the pool as it’s our last day 🥺
Day 15 - 9 Dec 2021
Content: We were requested to have a negative test to enter Portugal so we did it first thing in the morning.
Day 15 - 9 Dec 2021
Content: And all that’s good comes to an end 😢 We enjoyed some time at the beach and had lunch at Santhiya before driving south to Phuket airport. This is the end of our trip and we really feel that we got to know Phuket pretty well, not only the “famous beaches”. Hope you liked it 🤩
