Day 1 - 1 Nov 2017
Content: Originally we began in Bali, had a stopover in Singapore, and arrived at the Bangkok airport the next morning. The Bangkok airport is such a large airport, it’s easy to arrive from anywhere! From the airport we took a taxi ride into the city. Taxis in Thailand are super affordable!
Day 1 - 1 Nov 2017
Content: After grabbing a quick bite to eat, we first visited this amazing temple. It has so many large golden pillars. Definitely a must see in Bangkok!
Content: Near the temple, we stopped for a quick bite to eat at a ramen place. It was definitely a place that locals went to. The ramen was affordable but so good. Beware, if you don’t like spicy make sure they don’t add the chili on top.
Content: After lunch, we took a while to explore Khao San Road. There’s a lot to see here. You can shop, try all the snacks they sell in carts, and people watch.
Content: In order to get to Koh Phangan, we took an overnight train from Bangkok. It is super affordable. The seats pull out to bunk beds. It’s a long ride but your are able to sleep a lot.

Content: After a night of sleeping on the train, we arrived at the Surat Thani station. The ferry bus met us here to then take us to the ferry station.

Content: We took the ferry from the mainland to Koh Phangan island. The ferry was very comfortable and the water looked amazing. We spent most of the ferry ride outside.
Content: Paragon Resort has tiny bungalows that are super affordable and very comfortable. We took a taxi there that’s super affordable. It’s steps away from a beautiful beach that is not crowded! Plus the wifi is great! We were very content with our stay here.
Content: In front of the Bungalows is a travel Agency where you can rent scooters. Renting scooters makes it easier to get around. They are super affordable.

Content: We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the beach right across from the place we stayed.

Content: For dinner we explored the night food market. There are so many options for traditional Thai food. Plus it’s very affordable!
Day 3 - 3 Nov 2017
Content: Once we woke up, we headed out to get our usual 1 dollar smoothies from the smoothie lady in town. Then we grabbed a coconut and spent the morning chilling and swimming on the beach. It’s never crowded so we had so much space to ourselves

Content: In the afternoon, we explored Mae Haad beach. The beach is covered with the most amazing shells. This was definitely one of our favorite beaches!

Content: This was our most visited restaurant on the whole trip. It’s owned by a Thai family and has amazing and affordable Thai food. Try the masaman curry!

Content: That evening, we met up with friends we had made and went to the full moon party. It’s definitely an experience to go here. It only happens during the full moon, so plan accordingly

Content: After sleeping in, we woke up to take a ferry to the next island, our favorite island, Ko Tao.

Content: I decided to get my open waters diving license while we were in Ko Tao since it is one of the cheapest places to get a diving license. They came and picked me up from the ferry. A hostel room is included while you do your diving license. It’s a couple hundred dollars, but I highly recommend it!
Content: After a long day of scuba diving, we were craving some Mexican food. It definitely wasn’t the best, but we found the food to be pretty good!

Content: In order to get your diving license, it takes a couple of days. So plan for that if you choose this excursion.
Day 6 - 6 Nov 2017
Content: We stayed at this hostel for the rest of our time on Koh Tao. You can’t go wrong with any hostel. They are all affordable!
Content: Hands down the best beach in the world! The water is so clear and warm. We spent a lot of our time there. The walk there is also amazing!

Content: Here they have more European cuisine. It’s also more on the pricy side compared to more of the local food we were eating. The food is really good though!
Day 7 - 7 Nov 2017
Content: This was the usual place we got coffee from in the mornings. We loved it here!
Content: We stayed a total of two weeks on Koh Phangan and one week on Koh Tao. To return to Bangkok, we took the same way back but a bus instead of the night train. From Bangkok we travelled on to Australia. These are just some recommendations from our travels!
