Content: We arrived at Nice Airport, which is the only closest airport to Monaco. There are many destinations available in France for a short vacation. Monaco is the best and one among the great destinations. It is the world's second tiniest country. We had a bad experience at the security check as all the staff was busy chatting. It is France's third busiest airport with two terminals. The airport complex was well-maintained. We got a taxi to Monaco city as soon as we came outside of the airport.

Columbus Hotel Monaco

Content: Monaco is a Principality and it is a sovereign city-state located in the French Riviera. I could experience a great time when we visited Monaco with family and kids. My kids really loved and enjoyed the place. We checked in to one of the mid-range hotels in the city. Columbus Monte-Carlo was very impressive for a reasonable price. The room was attractive with a garden view. The furniture gave a classy look and some rooms with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Restaurant Tavolo is the hotel's restaurant that offered a wide menu. The location of the hotel is set in a pleasant atmosphere and surroundings.

Content: After a short break, we headed to the Prince's Palace. It is the official place of residence of the Prince of Monaco, Albert II. It was a beautiful building located in a nice panoramic view. It is one of the main attractions. It was a beautiful building located on the backdrop of the mountains. Every day at 11:55 AM, in front of the Palace’s main entrance visitors can watch the changing of the guard ceremony performed by the “Carabiniers”. We entered the palace after the security check through the entrance located to the left of the main gate with its guard. After the security check, we received an audio guide. The first attractive thing in the place was the Herkules Gallery. The visitors are allowed only to some parts of the palace including: the gilded "Blue Room," which is used for official state events, the Empire-style Throne Room, and the wooden finished Mazarin Room. We came out of the palace and headed to Stade Louis II.

Content: Stade Louis II was located very close to the palace at walking distance. Actually, it is situated at the southern border of the little state of Monaco. It is the home stadium of football team AS Monaco. Only because of my kids we visited this place. AS Monaco, who compete in the top tier of French football, their home games are played here. The ticket price was cheap so it was ok to spend some time to visit.

Content: Then we went for short walk through the streets to enjoy the night beauty of the city. For dinner we went to Beefbar located at the parallel road to the hotel. We ordered homemade potato smash and salads for kids. We ate beef kebab and pizza, both are good in taste. The staff was very kind and friendly. After dinner we went back to the room.

Content: After breakfast, we headed to explore some major attractions in the city. We arrived at a famous museum which is located on the side of Monaco’s legendary Rocher. The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco comprises two main sections: an array of aquariums and a large permanent exhibition of Natural History. The basement of the building consists of an aquarium, in the second floor we found an observation deck, restaurant, and tortoise garden In which we could see many pools containing thousands of live marine creatures, from both the Mediterranean and tropical seas. Some interesting ones are sharks, jellyfish, giant crustaceans, corals, seahorses, Posidonia beds, venomous tropical fish, sea turtles, and much more. The aquariums are particularly loved by kids, with educational classes and special activities. Kids could touch many species of creatures. Oceanomania, an exhibition that displays stuffed animals, shells, old scientific instruments, fossils, and old books. Walking around the impressive marble walls of this beautiful building was worthwhile and impressive.

Content: The Cathedral of Monaco, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. This destination was most popular in the city for its architectural style. The building was made up of white stone from La Turbie. We came to know the fact that the Great Altar and the bishop’s throne are made of white Carrara marble. In addition to the main altar, the Cathedral includes several side altars. The pillars are very colorful and attractive. It was the main center of the spiritual and cultural life of Monaco and the setting for many national events. From the cathedral, we took a short walk to St Martin Gardens.

Content: We decided to spend some time to relax on the bed of nature. We had packed snacks and drinks. The park was surrounded by trees and shrubs. We spend some in the shades of trees, kids enjoyed wandering around the park.

Content: We headed to Casino Square, Monaco’s most famous square. We had a coffee at the Cafe de Paris and watch the ultra-wealthy shop and pass by on the streets. The streets are rich and surrounded by supercars, jewelry, and many other little things. It was a great place to spend a perfect evening. We headed to hotel and had dinner from the restaurant.

Content: The restaurant was set on an outdoor terrace overlooking the Princess Grace Rose Garden. The foods were very delicious as well as fresh.

Day 3 - 21 May 2017

Content: We had very classy breakfast at the room. We brought some pastry from the supermarket, as well as blueberry jam, butter and some nice crispy bread for the morning. We ordered coffee from the restaurant and enjoyed our breakfast at the balcony watching the garden.

Content: After fresh up, we hired a car from the hotel to the Exotic Garden of Monaco. It is also known as Jardin Exotique de Monaco which is stuffed with a large variety of succulent plants. It is so unique as it was built on a rocky hill, so provides an amazing view of the principality. There is a cave which is a unique place that can be visited without additional cost after entering the Exotic Garden. We saw some magnificent stalactites, stalagmites, and curtains. Using the same ticket, we visited The Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology of Monaco is located next to the Exotic Garden. We could see a complete mammoth skeleton from Siberia. The most beautiful thing in the park was the enormous trees which line the paths of the Exotic Garden.

Content: We hired a taxi from the hotel to the Nice Cote d'Azur Airport. We checked out of the hotel and headed to the airport. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly. They helped to plan our trip as well as transportations. We reached the airport before 3 hours so that we had enough time for the security check.
