Content: The following day we visited this enchanted little town in the middle of Provence.. It’s considered one of the "most beautiful villages of France"! The church, the old village walls, the chapels, the aqueduct, the fountains represent an alliance of water and stone. The pastel colours of the tiles and the lime stones create a living architectural whole. The main characteristic is that above the town, a gold-painted star hangs on a 225m-long chain suspended between two cliffs. Its origin, according to a legend popularised by Provençal poet Frédéric Mistral, lies in the 10th century; the original star and chain have been replaced several times since then. The current star is about 50 years old.

At the end of the canyon, the Verdon flows into the Lake of Sainte-Croix. The gorge is very popular with tourists, who can drive around its rim, rent kayaks to travel on the river, or hike. We rented a pedal boat for 2 hours (30€) and sailing along these blue waters was just so beautiful! You can’t miss this experience!
