Athens Airport

Content: Traveling from the Athens airport to your hotel/Airbnb is super easy. Athens has amazing public transport such as buses + trams, therefore before arrival checkout google maps to see which bus and tram you need to catch to arrive to your destination. Most importantly it’s a fraction of the price!

Content: The cost of traveling to big cities in Europe doesn’t have to be expensive. If you plan everything well and spend enough time researching the place you want to visit, you can find some good offers and spend your money wisely. The total cost of our trip to Athens was approximately £900, this includes the flights(they were pretty expensive - £180, but you can get them cheaper than this), accommodation (airbnb apartment £200), bus from the airport and back - €22(taxi cost was between €35-€40 one way) entrances to the all tourist attractions, (I think it was about €88), luggage storage €8, food and drinks. We mainly had breakfasts in our apartment, lunch out and evening meal in the apartment. The food and drinks part is of course down to everyone’s preference so you don’t have to spend as much or maybe you will spend more than this. So all this works out as approximately £450 pp for a week in Athens(6 nights). If you would like to get it cheaper, I am sure that you can find a cheaper accommodation and save money on the combain tickets for entrances like I mentioned in a previous post. I hope this will give you a better idea of how much it costs to visit Athens. Do you think it’s a decent price?

Content: I always wanted to visit the city of gods. Acropolis was absolutely amazing, a lot better than I expected it to be. Few tips, go in the morning to avoid crowds, make sure your hair is in a ponytail otherwise it will go all over like mine 🤣 put sunscreen on, don’t go when it’s very hot as the temperature will be unbearable(sun will reflect against the marble), now we had about 22 degrees and it felt hot. Entrance cost is 20€. Don’t miss it, it’s an amazing place. 🤪

Content: After a long day of exploring Acropolis our bellies needed food. This is a place we visited a couple of times. They have a wide selection of food in their menu and I really loved it. The best part is that we never paid more than €25 for our meal which included starters, mains and drinks.

Content: Another must see temple! This is a place that needs time to enjoy and fully explore. I personally spent there about 4 hours admiring the greenery, sun and taking a lot of photos! €8 entrance! You can bring youw own packed lunch and drinks and enjoy the outside with the beautiful views and nature. I am not sure if I mentioned before, but You can purchase a ticket that will allow you entrances to multiple attractions, please check the details on tourist info website. This is providing you have enough time in Athens.

Temple of Hephaestus

Athens, Temple of Hephaestus

Content: Another must see while in Athens. Walking around ancient buildings makes me feel really relaxed and I enjoy it so much, that it’s hard do describe. This temple can be seen while visiting ancient agora. All temples in Athens need a good few hours to be able to fully appreciate their beauty as well as read all the information on boards.

Content: Another wonderful place worth visiting in Athens, temple of Zeus 🙌🏻£8 well spent. It was amazing to experience lack of people (although Im not happy about the reasons behind it). We took some really good photos and spent relaxing morning enjoying the views and beautiful weather. Have you visitied it during your trip to Athens? While traveling do you enjoy visiting monuments? Or what is your favorite thing to do while traveling?

Content: When reading Athens guides, this was one of the places that was recommended to visit. To be completely honest, it’s nice to walk pass but the actual Market had no value to me. It was full of uselss stuff, but for somebody else it could be a treasure. Personally if you are just walking pass it it’s ok, but I wouldn’t make it a special trip.

Content: This is a really cool place to visit for not only car lovers but everyone. They have more than 110 cars to look at price of €10. It’s a bit of a walk from the town centre, but we stopped a couple of times for a little drink. 🤩 Exploring streets of Athens can be an amazing day out and the car museum being the last stop!

Hadrian's Library

Athina, Hadrian's Library

Content: For some- important place to visit- for me not so much. I decided not to pay for the entrance to go in, however maybe another time when I am in Athens I will visit the above. I still managed to take a photo outside 🤪 I just think that €8 was a lot to ask for a very small place.

You can spend there as little and as much time as you wish. I loved just relaxing there and taking a tone of photos.
