Content: There are only two terminals at Reykjavik airport so it’s super easy to navigate. TIP: if you are looking to purchase hard liquor during your stay, buy it at the airport. It’s really hard to get anything more than beer due to their legalities once you are outside of the city :) head towards shuttle to take you to Hertz so you can pick up your rental car. The only way to visit Iceland is by driving around it!

Content: Arrive at Airbnb around 3pm. It is an hour drive from the airport. This place is right next to the Kerid Crater, so it’s the perfect place. Make sure to grab groceries prior at a nearby store so you have enough snacks to get you through the adventure. After flying all day and with the time zone change, we ended up in bed early, to wake up early the next day!

Content: This place being 10 min from the Airbnb, it’s perfect quick 45 min walk around and down the crater. Depending on where the sun is, the water changes colors and gives it such a unique look.

Content: This beautiful church is sitting right by the coast. With the moody vibes it’s a picture perfect spot.

Content: Arrived for a quick warm up with a view at this cafe. Amazing staff and the views were unbeatable!

Content: These volcanic pillars are an amazing sight to see and so close to the cafe that it’s definitely worth stopping and hiking a bit. Make sure to wear a raincoat since weather in Iceland is very temperamental:)

Content: About a 45 min drive from the last spot, will take you to the most scenic point in Iceland. Make sure you drive behind the mountain, since from the front it surprisingly looks different

Content: Very nice waterfall to check out, but very crowded. Make sure to follow the signs and not step on the moss since it takes thousands of years for it to grow!

Content: A must see! You will be able to walk between two tectonic plates! It’s a nice 40 min hike from the parking lot to the waterfall. You can even scuba dive between the plates!

Content: Another amazing waterfall which is a must see! Not very crowded so it’s a perfect place to escape everyone.

Content: One of the most visited waterfalls in Iceland and you can see why. Try to get here as soon as you can and make sure you also hike up! I believe it’s miles and miles, but if you go for about a mile you will have great views! Bathrooms onsite

Content: If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, you will know exactly of this beach! The amazing stone formation is out of this world. There is a paid parking and a restaurant onsite.

Content: The moss around this church is just the best view. Make sure to be respectful when walking through grounds since it is a church.

Content: As you drive up north, you will want to pull over and stop to take photos of this massive beauty. Make sure to do that so you don’t regret it!

Content: This ice lagoon is one of the best sights we have seen. You can even get on a boat ride if you’d like to get up close to the glacier. Well worth the stop!

Content: Quite a drive but so worth it regardless of what weather you get. We arrived at fog, and the view was still incredible. Plenty of parking and not crowded

Content: Try to be here early, tour buses arrive around 9am so if you can beat them, def do! You will get wet so make sure you wear appropriate attire.

Content: Very cool stop if it’s on your way. Being from USA, Yellowstone definitely makes it a good competition, but well worth seeing :) hike up top to get a good view! It goes off every few minutes.

Content: If you have some time before your flight back make sure to stop by the city and visit the most iconic building in Iceland. Lots to do around here for shopping and food. Iceland should truly be on everyone’s must see list! It is by far the best country we have ever visited. If you love nature and outdoors, you will fall in love with what it has to offer. Just be aware of the nature around you and leave it the way you arrived ❤️
