Content: Staring our journey with approx 10hr Jet Blue Airlines from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Keflavík International Airport. small, practical and easy to transit airport.

Content: Rented a car from airport and took a 1hr drive to hotel. The hotel was far from city center, the rooms were specious and comfy. Staff welcomed us with a fresh juice.

Content: After a quick bite, we took a 10min ride and reached Reykjavik's City Hall to take information regarding our trek, this hall is also used for events and concerts.

Content: We had typical Iceland cuisine for our dinner, the menu for dinner offers lot of choice. The food was very delicious and hospitality was top notch, but the deserts are costly.

Content: Gathered information and after a short introduction with others we took a 4hr drive and reached to Landmannalaugar, which is a place in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the highlands of iceland.

Content: Started our hike towards Landmannalaugar, passing through geothermal wonderland, mountains and hot springs. Walking through rough lava fields.

Content: Moving further towards slope of Brennisteinsalda, known for photogenic looks.

Content: Passing through hot spring storihver, reached Hrafntinnusker mountain, which is one of the very few green grounds left. Takes 3 to 4 hours hiking to reach here.

Content: After a long trek, We dropped our luggage at Hrafntinnusker Huts, which are one of the most remote huts in Iceland. Were we will spent our night.

Content: After a breakfast, we walked along Reykjafjoll mountains, decending to Jokultungur area. were we saw yellow and red gullies.

Content: Leaving colourful mountains behind we reached palagonite mountains. The view was breath taking.

Mt. Haskerdingur

Content: As the visiblity was good, we climbed Mt. Haskerdingur. The view of mountain, glaciers, volcanoes was amazing.

Content: Walking through Green landscape and noticing a considerable change, With a great top view from Jokultungur, We finally reached Lake Alftavatn.

Content: After a communal breakfast we left towards Maelifellssandur passing by green volcano Stórasúla and entered the black desert.

Content: Walking through black glacial desert we enjoyed view of Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glaciers.

Content: Before heading towards hut we turned towards Markarfljotsgljufur, it is a deep canyon carved out by the glacial river Markarfljot.

Content: Reached Botnar which was our stop for tonight, the huts were average but after a long walk it seemed like a paradise.

Content: After a breakfast leaving Emstrur behind we headed towards next island which is Thorsmork. Decending towards Almenningar, a few trees can be seen and a sign which denotes that we are getting closer to the coast.

Content: Walking under dense forest and Einhyrningur mountain also known as the unicorn. It is the valley nesting under glaciers.

Content: We left Thorsmork early in the morning and head for the mountain pass between the two glaciers, Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull.
