The town stands on a spur of rock located over 820m from the sea, on the slopes of nearby Mount San. Remained just as it once was, with stone houses and very narrow streets that run through the village around the remains of an ancient medieval castle π°, once built in defense of the nearby Abbey of Santa Maria in Vallefucina. Elcito enjoys a breathtaking view overlooking the valley, in fact it is surrounded only by nature and for this reason it is also called the village of silence, being almost completely uninhabited. The only inhabitants are some elderly people who, born and lived here, have no intention of abandoning their place of the heart π€
