Content: Start early today by taking the Circumvesuviana train line to Pompeii! This is a local train line and will cost you €2 one way. The trip will take ~45min and take you directly to the entrance of the Pompeii archeological site. Make sure to get off at Pompeii Scavi Villa dei Misteri and not Pompeii as that will take you to the modern city which is a 20min walk away

Content: If you're coming during peak summer time, make sure to book tickets in advance to save yourself having to wait in line for hours! An adult ticket is €15 and you can buy audio guides for €8 each. I would recommend going on a paid tour to get a locals perspective on the place and to learn about the history from an expert. Listening to a small device (as part of the audio guide) was hard to hear in the heat was hard to stay motivated and interested in my opinion. If you're traveling with your bags you can store your luggage there for €4. Stay and explore for the next few hours but after that we're heading to the coast!

Content: After visiting the ruins, walk ~20mins to get to the Pompeii station serviced by TrenItalia to get to Salerno. You could also take the same train as you did in the morning (Circumvesuviana) to go to Sorrento and make your way to Amalfi from there but Salerno was faster to get to Amalfi *Not my photo

Content: Walk 7mins to the ferry terminal and buy your one way tickets to Amalfi! The company I would recommend is TravelMar whcih run all public ferries along the coast for €8 a trip

Content: Head to Le Sirenuse for a quick break and enjoy the views from their bar lounge area. It's $$$$ to spend a night here but you'll still be able to visit their lounge without staying

You can also take the time to get custom made leather sandals from a number of stores. I visited Antica da Carmine Positano and had a great experience. There will be a man and his Thai wife who run the store. Say hello! And grab yourself a hand made pair of leather sandals for €55

Content: Today is our full day walking tour with Walks of Italy or you can do it yourself and follow along to see all these sights. However I love taking tours like this as you can learn so much more from a guide sometimes. First stop is the colosseum where gladiators used to fight. It's an incredible structure and I would recommend coming during sunset as well

Content: Come early if you want to get a photo by yourself without the crowds! Like before sunrise early haha otherwise enjoy it as a stop with your tour group. Don't forget to toss a coin over your left shoulder so you can return ;)
