Day 1 - 27 Aug 2021
Content: We landed in Naples on a hot summer’s day and checked into B&B Museum, an apartment right in the heart of Naples. We were greeted by Marco who took the time to show us around the apartment and explain to us some of the must-visits of Naples itself.
Day 1 - 27 Aug 2021
Content: After settling down, we headed to our first destination: the ruins of Pompeii - one of the world’s most rich archaeological experiences. The eruption of Vesuvius buried this city, preserving streets, houses and temples. We only allocated around 2 hours in total there, however we recommend visiting for a much longer time since we definitely did not see everything the site has to offer.
Content: We then drove for around 40 mins to reach Mt Vesuvius itself. It was also early enough for us to be able to hike all the way up to the crater. We were rewarded with some truly breathtaking views :)
Day 1 - 27 Aug 2021
Content: With Naples being famous for its pizza, it was inevitable that we had to try one as soon as possible. We dined at Donna Sofia upon our arrival in Naples during the evening. We were not disappointed! Simple pizza is the best pizza :)
Day 2 - 28 Aug 2021
Content: Our plan for the day was to visit the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. It took us almost two hours to reach our first stop: Positano, however we stopped a few times along the way for some photos. The cities along this coast are all situated on a cliff side, and so it offers for pictoreque photos.
Day 2 - 28 Aug 2021
Content: By the time we reached Positano, we were all famished, so we stopped by a nearby cafeteria for some breakfast. We then spent the morning strolling around the streets of Positano, with stops at the Positano beach, Via dei Gladioli, Costiera Amalfitana Positano and the various shops along the street. For those with a more flexible schedule, we recommend renting a boat to get better views of the entire area.

Day 2 - 28 Aug 2021
Content: We were quite exhausted by the time we made it to Amalfi, so we just made a quick stop at the Duomo before heading for dinner at Marina Grande restaurant. We also stopped for some gelato and photos of the trees during the night before driving back to Naples.
Day 3 - 29 Aug 2021
Content: We planned on spending a full day on the island of Capri. After reaching the port of Naples, we took the ferry to Capri - this took us approximately 1 hour.
Day 3 - 29 Aug 2021
Content: Our first planned stop was the Giardini d’Augusto. The entrance fee to the gardens costs 1 euro per person. You read that right ….. There are several viewpoints at these gardens, however the most beautiful ones are those from which the Faraglioni can be seen. Via Krupp can be admired best from a viewpoint at these gardens.
Content: We then walked along Via del Pizzolungo. The hot weather meant this walk would become challenging, however frequent photo stops and water breaks made this exciting, like walking through a small forest :).
Content: We stopped for a quick lunch at Le Grottelle...
Day 3 - 29 Aug 2021
Content: We then proceeded through Via Arco Naturale, which leads you to a natural rock formation, as the name implies.
Day 3 - 29 Aug 2021
Content: By this time, we all agreed we should go for a refreshing swim before heading back to Naples. We found an empty spot in an otherwise busy Marina Grande, and spent the rest of the afternoon there.
Day 3 - 29 Aug 2021
Content: We had dinner at Donna Sophia once more upon arriving. We recommend spending more than one day in Capri to be able to explore more sites and fully appreciate all the beautiful spots the island has to offer.
Day 4 - 30 Aug 2021
Content: For our last day, we planned to explore Naples a bit more. Our first stop was Via San Gregorio Armeno, full of artisan shops selling Nativity handcrafts. It is truly a unique alley. You will buy something here ;)
Content: We proceeded to Galleria Umberto, which is very similar in style to the more popular Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. This Galleria deserves a visit, even if there is no shopping planned ;).
Day 4 - 30 Aug 2021
Content: Finally, we reached the Quartieri Spagnoli, home of the famous mural of Maradona - a must-visit for all football, especially Napoli / Argentina fans.
Day 4 - 30 Aug 2021
Content: We had a quick lunch at Piazza Dante, and then headed to the airport for our flight back home. In conclusion, we definitely recommend staying for more than a weekend to be able to enjoy all the different sites and pizzas this part of Italy has to offer :) But for a quick holiday, this a place you must visit!
