Content: Hello from Bologna ! We arrived to this “red city” by our car in the evening. We were very excited for this trip since we know that we are going to eat a lot here. Bologna is named after as fat, red and wise city. So we are looking forward to explore this city. Since we arrived here a bit late, after a long drive, we stayed in our room and get ready for the new day. Day 2 - 31 Aug 2021
Content: We started our day in this great place. It is really at the heart of the city and such a nice place. There is a huge variety of a food selection. Our choice was a an avocado toast and then we had some choco-croissant. If you come to Bologna, this place should definitely on your list. Content: After having our breakfast, we started our tour from the most known place in Bologna. Two Towers are the symbol of this city. Both of these two towers are leaned and one of them is almost as leaned as Pisa Tower so they had to cut its top part, otherwise they could crash each other. Don’t forget to take a selfie with these towers.
Content: Our next stop is Piazza Maggiore. Here is the main square of Bologna we can say. There’s the Cathedral of Bologna (Basilica di San Petronio), Fountain of Neptune and Salsa Borsa libraries are worth to see in this place. It’s really an impressive place. Content: After having coffee and rest for a bit we went to the famous library Archigiannisio. It’s a place which makes you feel that you are in a wise city and why it has the oldest university in the world. It’s a must see Museum for sure for everyone who visit Bologna. It’s free to enter but for the Library room (you cannot enter the library but still see some parts of it) and for the Anatomy Theater you need to buy tickets. It’s definitely worth to enter those rooms. They’re the most impressive amphitheater and library in any of the universities we have ever seen! Content: After the museum we went to the Santo Stefano Square which is the food center of this gourmet city. Our choice is Agricole e Vitale. It’s really a nice place with lots of tables outside. Day 3 - 1 Sep 2021

Content: Our next stop is Finestrella. This window opens to Venice in Bologna. So, if you haven’t been to Venice yet, this can be a sneak peek for you. You need to be a bit patient to have a look and take photos since the window is really small and it’s full of tourists. 📸Bring your camera!
Content: After having a bit air of Venice we went to have our breakfasts at the Gamberini. We think that it’s the best cafe we have tried in Bologna! All the things we have eaten were delicious. Basic Tips: 💵Price: Above the average 📍Location: Perfect 🥘Taste: Excellent
Content: Since we have eaten really good we wanted to have a walk. We walk in the Ugo Bassi street which goes from Gamberini to the Two Towers and it’s the biggest street in Bologna’s Old Town. It’s a very nice place for shopping and/or having some snacks. It’s full of porticos and therefore very comfortable to walk even if it’s rainy or sunny.
Content: Bologna is really a nice city for shopping. You can find not just food but almost everything in this city. The most luxurious brands are located in the Galleria Cavour and it’s surroundings. We went there and experienced all the luxurious brands in here. If you like designer brands of Italy you will especially like this place!
Content: It’s really a hot day and in Italy best way to get refreshed is to have an ice-cream of course. So we made a stop at the Vecchia Stalla ice cream shop. It was a really good one. Basic Tips: 💵Price: Above the average 📍Location: Perfect 🥘Taste: Excellent
Content: Before diner we had a bit more of time. That’s why since we wanted to eat again at the Santo Stefano Square we wanted to see this extraordinary Church. Or maybe we need to say churches, because it’s consisting of 7 different churches. All of them was built in different times so it is looking very unusual and but there is a harmony in chaos. Content: We were really hungry after such a long walks and we went to 051 Osteria to have pasta. We tried this time also Bologna’s traditional pasta: Tortellini. They are all home made in this restaurants. Normally Tortellini’s are filled with Bolognese sauce and it’s always pork meat inside. But in here there is also a veggie version filled with cheese. Content: After breakfast we walked directly to Minghetti Square. It’s very interesting square with a cathedral and the tombs in the square. They belong to the former mayors of the city from Middle Ages. 📸Bring your camera!
Content: We really love city markets. Specially if you are in a gourmet city like Bologna you shouldn’t pass this kind of places. Mercato di Mezzo is a place where you can try real Bolognese food and make food shopping from local farmers. We really loved that place.
Content: And now is the Aperol time. It is a short stop for us to have rest and drink something. We ordered an Aperol and a beer and got a bowl of chips with that. Keep in mind that in Itay when you order drinks, they bring you some chips with that. Content: Now food shopping time! If you are in Bologna, you should definitely buy something to eat back home. Since Bologna is a gourmet city, there are lots of opportunities here. This shop is a family runned business and they have really good olive oil and balsamic. Our choice was a bottle of Olive Oil from Puglia and 8 year-old balsamic. We love them all!! They don’t sell only the goods they produce but all the good products from all over the Italy. Content: Just across the other shop, here is an other one. Here is also a family business. They make fresh pasta and pasta sauce. You can buy famous tortellini here. Keep in mind that Tortellini’s are filled either with cheese or meat. So if you buy you need to keep them cold. It is also such a historical place and full of wonderful products. Content: We wanted to see the oldest republic of the world: San Marino! It’s just 120km away from Bologna and very close to the city of Rimini. You can park your car in several places in the entrance of the city. Inside the city there is no cars allowed.

Content: This place offers very good quality of soaps, cremes and natural cosmetic products. They are all made in San Marino and have very good quality. Prices are also reasonable.
Content: We walked to the main square of San Marino. This city center is just beautiful. It’s very historical, has a beautiful view since it’s located on the hill and very nice to shop or eat&drink. It’s so nice that you wanna discover every tiny street of San Marino. They even have Michelin starred restaurant located in this beautiful square. Content: This restaurant was one of the highlight moments from our trip. It was definitely a great place to eat Italian specialities. We had pasta and some ice-cream. The prices were affordable. Content: Today is our last day in Italy. We really enjoyed being here and trying all the good food. If you are coming to Bologna you should definitely think about to extend your trip to San Marino and Rimini. They are very close to Bologna and both worth to see.
