Content: Our journey began by reaching our accommodation. We chose an apartment to save money and to have more freedom, especially for cooking. This is a nice modern apartment, right near the center of Perugia.

Content: We then decided to spend the afternoon in Perugia, the capital of the Umbria region. This city has a lot to offer and is particularly famous for its chocolate production. Do not miss the main squares, the churches and get lost in its streets. A stop at the Perugina chocolate factory is mandatory.

Content: On the second day in Umbria we decided to visit one of the symbols of this region: Assisi, a city famous for San Francesco. In addition to visiting the famous and beautiful basilica, Assisi is a wonderful village that I recommend you to walk around very calmly.

Content: On the third day we decided to visit another important city: Spoleto. Spoleto is truly beautiful, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves; visit the historic center, with the beautiful Cathedral, then go up to the Rocca and stroll around the Ponte delle Torri. This place in Italy has become particularly known for the TV series "Don Matteo", in fact you will find many themed souvenirs in the city.

Content: After the visit to Spoleto we reached a nearby place: the Fonti del Clitunno. It is a beautiful private park, which offers many paths through the woods, around a pond with swans.

Content: On the fourth day we decided to go to the Marmore Falls, one of the most beautiful in Italy and among the highest in Europe. Since it is the furthest place from Perugia (it is located in the province of Terni) and that it takes a long time to visit the park, we stayed there all day. The Parco della Cascata includes 6 nature trails, of varying length and difficulty, suitable for the needs of each visitor; if you have the opportunity, I recommend doing them all, to see the 3 jumps of the waterfall up close. Content: WHAT NOT TO MISS ON LAKE TRASIMENO? THE VILLAGES: we visited CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO, a village surrounded by medieval walls, with a historic center that is a gem, a tower from the past and a splendid view of the lake, but there are many small jewels to visit in this area. . THE ISLANDS: in the middle of the Trasimeno there are 3 islands, Isola Maggiore, Isola Polvese and Isola Minore, which you can reach by boat. WALKS: there are many scenic trails to follow, for those who love trekking and for those who want to take a simple walk. I recommend you to spend a whole day here!

Content: On the last day, before returning home, we went to Gubbio, another beautiful Umbrian town. It is a medieval city made up of five parallel streets, located at different levels and connected to each other by steps, alleys and stairs that make it seem almost a labyrinth. Do not miss the main squares, churches, Palazzo dei Consoli, Palazzo Ducale and the famous Fontana dei Matti. I also recommend seeing the Basilica of Sant’Ubaldo, which can be reached with a cable car that leads from the center of Gubbio to Mount Ingino.
