Content: We reached our accommodation, the "B&B Gli Archi", in the heart of the Val d'Orcia. A beautiful and peaceful location, in perfect modern Tuscan style. The rooms are spacious, bright, clean and equipped with every comfort.

Content: After check-in in and getting our things sorted we took a walk around the area; but tired from the journey we enjoyed the view in the garden of our B&B. There is also an indoor lounge perfect for relaxing! P.S. : for all 6 days of the itinerary, where I do not specify the places where we had dinner or lunch, it is because we had got something to eat on the street, or once we returned to the B&B (a sandwich, or bought something in the nearby supermarkets, shops typical) to save time and money.

Content: The first stop in Val d'Orcia was one of its "symbols": Farmhouse Poggio Covili, famous for its cypress avenue. It is one of the most iconic and photographed places so, if you want to take good pictures, I recommend that you go there very early in the morning, to avoid finding too many people!

Content: At lunchtime we decided to reach one of the nearby villages and taste the local specialties: Tuscan salami, croutons, cheeses and red wine. We chose "Trattoria Osenna", in the heart of San Quirico d'Orcia. The place was typical, the dishes very good and the prices excellent.

Content: The beautiful village of San Quirico d'Orcia was built on top of a small hill, above the remains of an ancient village. Not to be missed: Palazzo Chigi, Ospedale della Scala, Horti Leonini (a series of very beautiful gardens), Church of Santa Maria Assunta and San Francesco.

Content: Last stop Bagno Vignoni, one of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany. The peculiarity of this place is the thermal water pool, in the center of the main square, a unique thing in Italy! You cannot swim directly in the pool, but you can follow the thermal springs to the "Parco dei Mulini", where you can enjoy the benefits of these waters ... for free! Returning to the village, however, you can get lost in its alleys, full of typical shops, beautiful places where you can taste Tuscan specialties and with many cats.

Content: This day also began with a hearty breakfast at our B&B and after driving to the Val d'Orcia we reached the first stop of the day: Pienza, one of the most famous villages in the area. A beautiful village, which in the Renaissance was defined "the ideal city", but also a romantic place, with its "street of love" and famous for the production of "pecorino di Pienza" cheese.

Content: After walking through the streets of Pienza, having relaxed to enjoy the view of the Val d'Orcia and taken many photos, it's time for lunch. Content: The second stop was in another village, which is less known than all the previous ones. Here you can walk almost alone, even in the most touristy months, through its streets and enjoy the true essence of Tuscany. There is also a small "emporium" that sells typical things at affordable prices, I recommend it to buy souvenirs without spending too much!

Content: We then decide to reach Rocca d'Orcia, a small hamlet of Castiglione d'Orcia. You can choose whether to start from Castiglione on foot (it is close but there is a nice climb to do), or by car (find a free parking). Once you arrive, I recommend that you immediately visit the Rocca which offers a 360 ° view of the Val d'Orcia from above. Ticket price: € 3 Once you have seen the fortress, I advise you to continue along the road, because the "Strada del Vino Orcia" begins from there, you can choose how long to follow it.

Content: We decided to spend the first day here on the beach. The Argentario, in fact, offers a lot of beautiful beaches, you can find something for all tastes, we have opted for "Cala del Gesso". This small pebble beach can be reached by a very scenic paved path. In front of Cala del Gesso stands the islet of Argentarola, which can also be reached by swimming and the remains of an ancient and picturesque Spanish watchtower are visible from the beach.

Content: What to see in Orbetello? Surely the Windmill, which emerges suggestively from the waters at the very beginning of the artificial dam that connects the mainland to Monte Argentario. I recommend this place to see the sunsets, when the sky and the lagoon are tinged with pink. At that time you will find, in the parking lot near the Mill, a truck that prepares all kinds of aperitifs and cocktails.

Content: On the last day in Argentario we decided to visit the villages in the area. The first was Porto Ercole, a small fishing village. The ancient inhabited center is gathered inside the walls at the foot of the Rocca, I suggest you cross the Pisan gate and take a walk in the heart of the village among alleys, stairways and squares overlooking the sea.

Content: After lunch we reached the other famous village of the Argentario: Porto Santo Stefano. In this village, overlooking the sea, you can stroll and reach the main square, stopping in one of the many bar to relax. We drank an iced coffee in a local bar to wait for 3.00 pm, when the aquarium opens.
