Day 1 - 12 May 2018
Content: our journey commenced in spring season, we took a 12 hour Delta airlines flight from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport to Malta International Airport. The flight was smooth, airport was small and easy to navigate, ground staff is proffestional.
Content: Rented a car from the airport and took a 15 min drive to our hotel where we checked-in. Great location on the edge of Valletta, rooms were huge and spacious, staff was more then helpful and friendly.
Content: Dropping off our bags and with some rest in the evening walking through the streets we headed towards Saint John’s Co-Cathedral. It is a majestic church, the interior consists of beautiful art work. Price is on the higher side.
Content: Walking further we visited a local casual restaurant. The interior was attractive and cozy, we ordered traditional Maltese cuisine which was delicious and loved the service. Portion were small which can be better.
Day 2 - 13 May 2018
Content: After breakfast we started exploring the capital city with a short drive we reached Grandmaster Palace Courtyard also known as Governer's palace is the official residence of the Governor of Malta. It has spectacular interior loaded with great armoury. A place worth starting day with.
Content: With a short drive headed towards Upper Barrakka Garden which offers panoramic view of the Grand Harbour. Here we took part in Valletta tradition which is the saluting battery and its daily cannon shots. which were used to greet foreign vessels.
Content: After the cannon shots ceremony we visited a Italian restaurant for our lunch. Restaurant with decent interior and welcoming staff. Cheese pasta is highly recommended.
Content: Later after our lunch we visited back to explore Lower Barrakka Garden. Siege Bell War Monument was great and photogenic, nice well maintained gadern.
Day 3 - 14 May 2018
Content: We had a delicious buffet breakfast and headed towards Melieha. While enrouting after 20 min drive we took a stop at Vilhena Palace, which is a museum with a great architecture and history, it offers good views of Malta island. A must visit photogenic place.

Content: With a drive of about 15 min we reached Ghajn Tuffieha Bay which is a beach known for its unique rock formations, its a beautiful clean beach. Jelly fish are abundant so need to be taken care off.

Content: Heading further to Mellieha we reached Mellieha Bay which is known for its biggest sandy beach with shallow water. Water were crystal clear and shallow undoubtedly a good place to relax. Kids can access the shallow waters.
Content: Checked-in to a hotel in the city center, staff was very friendly and welcoming, rooms were spacious and clean, balcony offered beautiful view of the city.
Content: Took a short walk through the streets and reached a Mediterranean restaurant. Beautifully located on Mellieha bay, delicious food and staff was very well skilled and helpful. Impressed by the hospitality they offered.
Day 4 - 15 May 2018
Content: After breakfast we took a 10 min drive to Marfa and from there we boarded a shuttle to Comino Island. It is known for its famous blue lagoon. We took a swim in crystal clear blue lagoon water and saw many big boats sailing around. Place was crowded.
Content: Taking a short walk reached Santa Maria Bay which is a beach located on the Comino island itself. It is too much rocky and quiet rather then any other beach. People dumped garbage, not at all recommended.
Day 4 - 15 May 2018
Content: While returning back towards our hotel we took a stop at a local restaurant for lunch. We ordered pizza and pasta, toppings were perfect and taste was amazing. service took a lot of time.
Day 5 - 16 May 2018
Content: Our morning started with a 1 hour drive towards Gozo, after reaching we had our first stop at the Old Prison where we saw some ships carved into the stone wall. Interesting historic place to explore and learn about how the criminals were kept and treated.
Content: It was lunch time so after visiting old prision we took a short drive to a restaurant and ordered octopus curry and tuna which was amazing. Staff was very attentive and friendly.
Content: Taking a short 10 min drive we reached Azure Window also known as Dwejra Window which is collapsed natural arch. Best place for experiencing blend of freshness, where blue water splashes the rocks.
Content: Next to Azure window was Blue Hole. It is a naturally formed water hole sprayed from the open area by a stone barrier. We had a dive beneath the Blue hole which was an amazing experience and scary at the same time. Torch is required.
Content: Checked-in to a hotel in Gozo. Lovely hotel with clean and spacious rooms, furniture was outdated and hospitality was excellent. The view from the hotel was breathtaking. Overall a good place to be inn.
Day 6 - 17 May 2018
Content: We had a excellent breakfast and begin exploring Gozo, after 15 min drive our first stop for the day was Wied Iz-Zebbug which is wedged between high cliffs and a good place for swimming and snorkeling. Here we hiked to the cliff and relaxed, unfortunately the weather was not good so we were not able to snorkel.
Content: Further taking a 20 min drive we reached Marsalforn and took a walk along the salt pans. Its was truly a gem. Nothing much to explore.
Content: Had lunch at a Italian restaurant which offers wonderful view of Marsalforn harbour. Ordered pasta with prawns which was well garnished and taste was fantastic, even though it was crowded the service was great.
Content: Later after having lunch visited Ramla Beach which is quite wide and sandy. It is unique beacause of its golden-reddish sand which makes this beach different from others. Beautiful beach to swim or relax on brown sand.
Content: While returning back visited Ta Cenc Cliffs After a short hike reached the cliff, the place was peaceful. We saw a beautiful sunset and returned back to our hotel.
Day 7 - 18 May 2018
Content: With a quick coffee sip we headed towards Popeye Village which was 1 hour drive from hotel it was built for the popeye movie now it is converted to an amusement park. A beautiful film set and lot of spots to click picture, amazing scenery with an epic view of beach. It is bit costly.

Content: Further with a 30 min drive reached Dingli cliffs. The towering cliffs featuring panoramic views & a chapel, which marks the area's highest point. It is a small hike to cliff which offers some beautiful views, place is not developed or maintained.

Content: While on our way to Marsaxlokk after 15 min of drive we took a stop and visited Blue Grotto, the cave is famous for its intense blue water. Beautiful place with blue water.

Content: Checked-in to hotel at a sea facing location and near to airport, rooms were not spacious but they were clean and comfortable. Hospitality was top notch and loved the sea view from our room.
Content: Walking through the street reached a local seafood restaurant for dinner. It is a heaven for fish lovers, the fish was well cooked and served with a great combination of sauces and wine. service was slow.
Day 8 - 19 May 2018
Content: Skipped our breakfast and took a 10 min drive to Malta International Airport from where we boarded a 17 hour Air Malta flight to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Check-in was quick and smooth and crew onboard was very helpful.
