Day 1 - 3 Jul 2019
Content: We took Scandinavian Airlines from Chicago to Copendagen which was non stop 8 hours flight. Flight was very comfortable and staff was very pleased to serve.
Content: Location of hotel is excellent. The rooms with a view on the harbour are great. A lot of convenient solutions like usb speakers in a bathroom so can listen to own music while taking a shower.
Content: Beautiful castle but we couldnt explore whole thing as we reached there at time of closing. There are many stairs to climb and lights were also dim. The online guide you can get on your phone in the castle.
Content: Lot hype as being a must see place but it really isn’t much more than a tourist trap. The beach walk around the area is very nice.
Content: It is beautifully picturesque. There are various spots along the canal to get a good pic and plenty of bars and cafes to pop into for a drink. Worth to see, especially at night.
Day 2 - 4 Jul 2019
Content: Took flight from Copenhagen to Bergen at 11 am. This hotel was at great location and close to museums of interest. Staff welcomed warmly upon arrival.
Content: Lots of old and new architecture. Really interesting. Walking through the stores and by the old wooden buildings is just magical and an experience you won't soon forget. Look closely at the exterior of the buildings and you can see how many of them have tilted slightly as the land beneath them has shifted and settled.
Content: Small but well preserved museum. The building itself is one of the oldest in that area and gives you a real sense of what it was like living and working here. Reasonable entrance fee for a worthwhile visit. Staff were friendly and the exhibits were all well done.
Content: The place has a little park and a nice view over part of the port. Stunning from outside but sadly closed for renovation when we visited. We saw many locals sitting under the trees chilling. Entrance to the park was free.
Content: This church is opened from 15th May to 15th september. Entrance fees are high but worth a visit. Wood work is amazing. Outside this stave church is an old cross which makes for a good picture.
Content: Warm and cosy place, feels like a home. Experience having dinner in one of the old houses of Bryggen with very fresh and quality fish and sea food including whale as local specialty. Service is also very nice.
Day 3 - 5 Jul 2019
Content: This cruise sets off from Bergen daily and travels all the way along the Norwegian coast to its northernmost point. If you are short of time but want to catch a boat trip I would recommend the half day trip. We got all the info and booked from the tourist info centre. They were very helpful. The scenery was breath taking. The boat had plenty of areas to stand and sit.
Content: A visit to the Bergen Aquarium is a must. Be fascinated by live demonstrations, daily shows, screenings and events in a place that has formed an important part of the local cultural. The food here is not worth the price. Consider bringing your own food and snacks. Overall it was a nice place to be.
Content: The restaurant has a wonderful host and a very relaxing and cozy ambiance. Food was delicious and prices reasonable. We tried the miso ramen and pumpkin quiche which we highly recommend.
Day 4 - 6 Jul 2019
Content: We took overnight train from Bergen which was 7 hours long. This hotel's location is great and it is great value for money. The rooms were rather small yet practical. Definitely recommended.
Content: We had our breakfast at hotel and left for day at Oslo. You do not have to pay to enter the park. Park is really big and beautiful. We loved the place, it's like an outdoor art gallery crisp Scandanavian air instead of stuffy museum atmosphere.
Content: The fact that these ships are centuries old is amazing. The 10 minute film was informative and definitely worth watching. Take my advice and go to see Norwegian history while you can. One and a half hour will be enough to see everything.
Content: A picturesque location in the middle of Oslo, with some nice views over the harbour. It offers a nice panoramic view of the city and the port. The guides were really helpful and knowledgeable. It is an outstanding exam of medieval Norwegian architecture and military design.
Content: Wonderful gardens and tree collections. There are multiple guards in front of the building. The change of guard is fun to watch. The palace isnt too big, but we were really impressed that the public could just walk around the premise like it was a public park.
Content: It is architecturally amazing, with a stone and crystal design outside and the wood design on the inside perfect to take a picture. If you have the time, book and take the tour inside. The belly of the beast is full of surprises.
Content: We would advise to reserve a table as this is not the restaurant you want to miss. Loved their fried bread and oysters. The rest of the dishes are beautifully presented and all the seafood is cooked perfectly.
Day 5 - 7 Jul 2019
Content: Oslo to Karlstad we came by car, 2 hours 45 mins drive. The mansion park is beautiful and there is a shop in old barn that sells locally handcrafted items. The food here are of a small variety and heavily overpriced. Free entry and calm atmosphere.
Content: We went to the small animal zoo, also walked around, dipped our feet in the water at the beach and road the train. Recommending this place to families with kids. It's a great park and most of it is free.
Content: The art gallery wing is worth a visit, but there are vast empty areas in the museum section that deserve a major rethink. One can miss this place as it has nothing interesting.
Content: Fantastic art on display, well worth a visit. A nice museum showing some great paintings, its well worth the price.
Content: This bridge has been subject to renovation but it is probably one of the most photogenic attractions of Karlstad. Apparently the longest stone bridge with 12 arches in Sweden.
Content: Convenient location, comfortable room and excellent staff. We had our dinner in room itself which was also good.
Day 6 - 8 Jul 2019
Content: We took train from Karlstad for Orebro which was 1 hour 40 mins. It was magnificent palace. We went inside and I think its more beautiful from outside. There is also a cafe inside with amazing views. Best part it is located within the city.
Content: This place is not so big, but full of people and lot of little shops. Beautiful atmosphere in this place. We recommend visits before or after holidays as it was very crowded.
Content: Most beautiful place in Orebro. Fantastic nature walks. Be sure to walk the trail that tells the history of the area. There were folk dancing, sausage sales, ice cream and amazing views.
Content: It is ran by 2 to 3 people with great passion for sushi. The sushi was very fresh and tasteful, they prepare the fishes of the season. You will have to wait some time in between the bites. Overall we had an excellent night and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes sushi.
Content: This place was close to energetic downtown with lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping. Rooms were small in size but it was matter of a night so we didnt bother much.
Day 7 - 9 Jul 2019
Content: We took train from Orebro, reached in about 2 hours. Location is good and easy to go around. Its very busy hotel but the staff was very efficient. But the size of rooms were very small.
Content: This museum is a must visit when in Stockholm. It is a very informative guided tour in English. Total of 7 floors, best of them are 1,2,4 and 6, where a replica of the ship's interior is open for everyone to enter. We didn't eat there, but the restaurant looked really nice with a good selection of dishes.
Content: This place makes the Swedish tradition worth remembering. There is lots to see and could easily spend half a day if kids along. We recommend going early hours in day light & enjoy the walk. Animals are well kept & it's a good spot for the kids specially.
Content: It was a great place for a leisure walk around the quaint streets and alleys. Very touristy place. It is better to wear comfortable footwear as some of the paths are quite steep and uneven. It is absolutely beautiful and has so much to offer in terms of sightseeing, shopping and dining. Keep your camera charged as there are lot of picturesque places.
Content: This viking theme restuarant makes it extra fun but you have to be willing to sit at long tables with people you don't know but it makes the experience that much more fun. The bartender was very knowledgeable and it was fun to learn about something from someone who is so passionate. Food was delicious.
Day 8 - 10 Jul 2019
Content: It was enjoyable walk through the castle halls. The treasury has the crowns till date and are very beautiful and worth seeing. Audio tour in the chambers are good and very informative. Would recommend visiting.
Content: The whole museum experience was extremely interactive and you are engaged in activities such as mixing your own music and singing in stage. We recommend springing for the audio guide it is totally worth it. It is by far the most enjoyable museum we have ever been to.
Content: Nice place to go for a walk but be careful walking into the cafes or restaurants in the area as they are quite expensive otherwise of fantastic area of Stockholm city.
Content: Beautifully organized with well designed lighting, it provides a real space to contemplate the current exhibits. The cafe on the top floor has great views across the city.
Content: It is a beautiful park. There is an ice skating ring for those people want to have some fun in winter and in summer it's nice to go look at the sakura and walk around the area. There are lots of restaurants and shopping malls around. They have a public restroom there for free.
Content: The place serves amazing food along with the right beverages. We tried the beef and the vanilla desert with goat cheese foam which was just amazing. The staff is exceptional. The only problem is that it is super hard to make a reservation.
Day 9 - 11 Jul 2019
Content: We took train at 10.15 am from Stockholm. This has smallest rooms i had ever seen, but a good place to stay for a night as whole day will be on sight. Beds were also very tiny. Hotel was very clean and budget friendly.
Content: The ambiance was so nice and cozy. There were lots of meat varieties and food was super tasty. It was perfect dinner date with husband.
Day 10 - 12 Jul 2019
Content: One of the most picturesque streets in Odense city. The house holds a lovely charm as well as part of Andersen's story. It is a must visit. But only disappoint was that when you buy the ticket from the museum it covers 5 other sites. Cant get for only one site.
Content: Recommand for everybody interested in churches and take your time to visit the crypt. There is no fee to enter. Odense has many attractions which are mostly for family with kids, as a couple we could have given it a miss.
Day 10 - 12 Jul 2019
Content: We reached Copenhagen airport in almost 2 hours to catch our flight back to home. Overall we had very memorable trip of Scandinavia.
