Pico Island
Content: Our first stop was the beautiful Pico island. We arrived in the morning to enjoy the full day. The view from the airplane was already amazing.

Content: We stayed in this Bed and Breakfast owned by a lovely lady. The view and the hospitality were amazing!
Pico Mountain Azores - Turismo De Aventura - Unipessoal Lda.
Content: We went to lunch to get energy. At 14h we started climbing the highest mountain in Portugal with support of a guide. The climb took 4-5h with some short breaks to rest, drink water and eat some snacks. It was quite hot at the sun in the beginning so we had to drink a lot of water.

Content: We saw the sunset from the mountain top and it was the best feeling ever. The sunset it’s just out of this world… After the sunset we started our way down, and when we arrived, we went straight to bed to rest.

Content: After lunch we did a wine tasting. It was actually fun and we could learn about wines in Pico. This place was new, they made us a tour around wine house and fields. It was opening soon as an hotel as well!

Content: Afterwards, we caught a flight to change islands. The next destination was São Miguel island. We rented a car, you can find really cheap rentals in Ilha Verde.
Aqua - Pópulo Eco Village
Content: When going to Azores we always stay in this amazing apartments! Célia is the owner and she is super helpful. The breakfast is amazing and they bring to your apartment/ room. The apartment was super modern and big, with really nice bedrooms and bathrooms. It gets better with the pool and jacuzzi (you can use the jacuzzi all year round) at the rooftop!
A Tasca
Content: We went for a “tapas style” dinner, really good to share with friends at “A Tasca”. The food was great (we even start eating before taking pictures ahaha) and cheap!
Ponta Delgada
Content: After dinner we went for a walk in the beautiful city center of São Miguel, to finish the day!

Content: We started the morning driving around and we were stopped by several cows on the road 😂 But also found a beautiful rainbow 🌈

Content: We decided to do one of the most beautiful hikes to find an amazing waterfall. It takes around 2h and has a medium difficulty level (you can find all info on trails on trails.visitazores.com)

Content: For lunch we chose this amazing place with sea view. You can get the famous lapas, cheese with pimenta da terra and several types of fresh fish! Really good food to try.

Content: Afterwards we went to the typical pineapple plantation! You can get a really nice jam and it’s a cute gift to bring to your friends/ family.

Content: We had dinner in this amazing place, with a really cool vibe. You can get good “tapas” to share with typical food and amazing desserts and cocktails!

Parque Terra Nostra
Content: We started our day with a visit to the Parque Terra Nostra since the weather was not really good. You need to pay a fee for entrance and then enjoy the termal waters!

Content: Exploring the island is so much fun and you can find these cute little friends around! You can also swim in those natural pools when it’s good weather, which unfortunately was not the case.
Mosteiros Beach
Content: We went to the beach right next to the natural pools to see the rainbow and have some chill time looking at the beautiful view
Praia do Areal de Santa Bárbara
Content: I really like this beach, it’s so calm and has black sand. Nearby we found a cute place with several cows and we were lucky to have one more rainbow.
Piscinas Naturais "Caneiros"
Content: Beautiful sunset at the natural pools! One of the best views of the trip 😍

Content: Go to the abandoned hotel Monte Palace to have the best view of the Lagoa das Sete Cidades. Sometimes it’s hard to see the lagoon because the weather can be foggy, but if you get the view, its sooo nice!
Miradouro da Boca do Inferno
Content: You can also get a great view of the lagoon by doing a short trail until the Miradouro da Boca do Inferno.

Content: Near the small bridge splitting both lagoons you can find these cute ducks! Also a good restaurant to have lunch is “O Poejo”. The food is good, amazing desserts and the place is so cute.

Content: This beautiful lagoon can be found nearby and you just need to do a short walk! I totally advise you to visit, and it’s near the Lagoa das Sete Cidades. The colors are amazing.

Content: We continued sightseeing lagoons and the next one was Lagoa do Fogo, which I think it’s the harder to see in the winter due to the bad weather! A trick is to use the SpotAzores website, which shows real time footage of the lagoons and if it’s possible to see them.

Content: For dinner we went to this amazing restaurant! All the food was amazing and the meat one of the bests I ever tried! After we went for a walk and found this cute church on top of the village.

Content: This is one of my favorite places of the trip! It’s a huge park and hotel with a lot of waterfalls. You can just stay there walking for hours and see the beautiful flowers and waterfalls.

Content: This is one of the best restaurants ever! You need to book in advance and keep in mind it can be a bit expensive. The menu is fixed and includes 5 courses. The food is delicious!!!

Content: A end of afternoon walk in Ponta Delgada is always a good idea! Look at the sky 😍
