Day 1 - 15 Jul 2019
Content: There is an airport in Ljubljana which is easily accessible. I didn’t come to Slovenia with this airport, I came by flixbus to the train station from Venice but I think it would be easier to get a flight into the main airport I. Ljubljana if you are thinking of visiting Slovenia!
Day 1 - 15 Jul 2019
Content: After getting settled at our Airbnb, we discovered the beautiful city centre! I love the river that goes right through the city.
Day 2 - 16 Jul 2019
Content: This café is right on the waters edge and not far from the dragon bridge. They had a wide range of hot drinks and pastries at a good price.
Content: This view is only a few minutes away from the café, it’s a perfect place to start walking around the beautiful city centre!
Content: When you walk up the Main Street you will arrive at the town square! I recommend getting here early if you want to enjoy the square alone (on my photos the square is empty but this is because it was midday and 35 degrees Celsius!!! Everyone was hiding from the heat haha!)
Content: The castle in Ljubljana is a must see, the views over the city are like no other! Tips: I would recommend getting the funicular up the hill (around 2€ one way) and then walking back down after! The path going down is very pretty and shaded with lots of trees.
Content: Another must-see in Ljubljana! There are lots of old tales about the dragon that used to live on the hill in this city!
Day 3 - 17 Jul 2019
Content: After our stay in the capital city, we hired a car at the train station (sixt cars) and started our road trip around the country!
Day 3 - 17 Jul 2019
Content: Our first stop was the Bohinj lake! This lake is perfect for swimming and walking around. At the far end of the lake we found a walking trail (seen on photo) and we decided to discover where the path led to!
Content: After 20 minutes walk we arrived at this beautiful spot. The water was turquoise blue.
Content: After our walk we came back to the lake and had some lunch at the camping site on the lake. The prices were reasonable and the food was simple but tasty !
Day 3 - 17 Jul 2019
Content: Then we headed to our guest house which was situated in the middle of the countryside! The green valleys there are absolutely stunning.
Day 3 - 17 Jul 2019
Content: This guest house was very reasonable, clean and with beautiful views! There is no noise whatsoever seeing the calm surroundings. The man who owns the guest house was also very helpful and kind. We had breakfast there everyday and it was delicious! When I go back to Slovenia I am definitely staying at this place again!
Day 4 - 18 Jul 2019

Day 6 - 20 Jul 2019
Content: This morning we woke up very early and went to the famous lake Bled! I would recommend getting there early like we did in order to enjoy the morning peace and quiet.
Content: We rented a boat for 1h30 (it was 15 to 20€ for 3 people) and we towed to Bled island!
Content: I loved visiting Bled island! It doesn’t take long to walk around as it is quite small, so we enjoyed some ice cream in the coffee shop there.
Content: The views from the island are beautiful especially on a sunny day.
Content: After we returned the boat we decided to get a better view of the lake. Near the camp site in Bled there is a path (very steep) that takes you to the top of a small hill. There are signs and sometimes a lot of people so don’t worry about getting lost.
Day 7 - 21 Jul 2019
Content: We left our guest house that morning and continued our road trip to the southern part of the country. The Predjama castle is very unique and worth a visit.
Content: We found a great restaurant with the best views over the castle. Food was delicious and not expensive.
