Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) (Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría)

Content: We arrived to the airport and our druver was waiting for us. The public transport in Costa Rica is not very efficient so we recommend to rent a car or a private guide/driver to visit several areas around the country. Our first stop was tortuguero.

La Pavona

Content: We drove from San Jose to La Pavona pier. There we took a boat to our hotel in Tortuguero. This part of the country is amazing, full of nature, but it rains a lot. During the boat trip we saw amazing landscapes.

Pachira Lodge

Content: We arrived to the hotel and the welcome us with a typical drink from Costa Rica, aguasapo (with lemon and mint). They have cite cabins in the middle of the rain forest where you can hear and see the monkeys in the trees.

Tortuguero

Content: We went (using the boat of the hotel) to the main town. The streets are colorful with fruit shops and the beach is wild but nice.

Parque Nacional Tortuguero

Content: We took a boat with a guide to explore the National Park and see the wild life. In these kind of tours you can see a lot of different birds, monkeys, crocodiles and sloths.
