Content: 🤍Generator Stockholm🤍 I lived in Stockholm for 9 months, which means I’m incredibly excited to share all my cool travel finds in this bustling city! Check out this travel guide if you’re interested in coming to Sweden. 🇸🇪✨🤍 Generator Stockholm is a 3 star hotel/hostel located in Torsgatan. They have hip dorms, private rooms, fast free WiFi, and a restaurant connected to it called “Hilma.” Hilma is a cafe serving alcohol, food, and amazing coffee! Koi

Content: After checking-in to the hotel we grabbed a table in Hilma and had some brunch! 🧡🌥🧃🍔 I had a chickpea veggie burger while my boyfriend had Hilmas styled beef burger. 🤤 I enjoyed how this one didn’t fall apart like most vegan burgers do. 🌿🤪 I definitely recommend Hilma. They have such great service! By the way, everyone in Sweden can speak fluent English so you never have to worry about that!👏 Also, you can enjoy eating your food outside during the colder months since they have heaters. ✨

Content: This is the outside area of Hilma. Gorgeous right? Look at the plants and chairs! I always loved the vibe that each cafe pulled off in Sweden. They always went out of their way to make it so much more enjoyable for customers! These people even offered a free karaoke night for me when I come back to Sweden, to have with my friends! They’re so kind and loving! 🤍🤍👏

Content: Kungsträdgården “Kings garden” 🪴 Undoubtedly the best part about Stockholm! Surrounded by rows of Cherry Blossoms, a beautiful flowing fountain, constructed right in the middle of it all! Behind the rows of cherry blossom trees are cafes and restaurants, even a TGI Fridays!🍔🤪🥘 One of my favorite cafes are right in this area overlooking the fountain, it’s called “Thelins.”

Content: Here’s another angle with Kungsträdgården right behind me! My friend & I, on a different day, had coffee together at this cafe. I recommended it to her and now she’s obsessed with it as well! The coffee isn’t too expensive there maybe around $4.5 USD. This is what’s called a “Fika.” Or “Fika Paus.” My friend Sandra and I paused and enjoyed quality time together while drinking coffee and eating small cakes/pastries. Everyone’s fav is the “kanelbulle” which means “cinnamon bun.”

Content: ✨Good afternoon lovelies✨ Time to explore the city! 🏙 Grab your bestie or partner & let’s go! 👯‍♀️🇸🇪 Sandra and I met up right outside of Kungsträdgården, the place mentioned in day 1 of this trip. The stop on the metro has the same name, so you’ll be able to find it pretty easily! It’s on the blue line. Once we met up we walked maybe 50 meters until we got to this bridge. This section can also overlook toward Gamla Stan. Gamla stan means “Old Town” in Swedish and is the place where everyone wants to go! You’ll see why later on this trip. 🥰😉 First, we’re off to Djurgården! This means “Animal Garden” and it’s also the name of their Fotball and Ice Hockey team for Stockholm! They’re obsessed. 🏒⚽️🥅

Content: In order to get to Djurgården, there’s two ways. We wanted to do the option where you can take a boat right next to the Amusement Park, so we did. 🤪 The amusement park wasn’t open for most of the year due to Covid. However, they opened it up in June! Ferry rides are super cheap ($3usd). ⛴

Content: 🌷 Instagrammable spot 🌷 Calling all instagrammers!😉 Sandra and I decided to bring a few outfits so we could take some pictures on our stroll around the city. Djurgården has a lot more nature vibes including: lakes, boats, flowers, forests, the amusement park, and Skansen. Skansen is a Zoo full of Scandinavian animals! You’ll see pictures of it later on in this trip. 🥰 Djurgården has many activities! You can ride on roller coasters at the amusement park, see Nordic animals in the Zoo, go to the Abba museum, or even their Viking museum!

Nordiska Museet/Vasamuseet (S)

Stockholm, Nordiska Museet/Vasamuseet (S)

Content: Nordisks Museet! The Nordic museum! This museum is also located on Djurgården and it’s dedicated to Swedens cultural history and ethnography. This museum was founded in the 19th century. The interior is stunning; however, we didn’t get to see it due to Covid! You have to check it out on Google and see for yourself. Here you can discover folk art, clothes, textiles, and furniture from the past 500 years! They even have a fashion exhibition which transports you to the golden age of haute couture!

Content: Bron = bridge This is the other entrance to Djurgården or exit! We walked across the bridge and this is what we saw. The bridge is super cool because it actually has four old Norse gods. These are the four: Heimdall blowing in his Gjallarhorn; Odin’s wife Frigg holding a rod; Freyja with a falcon; and Thor with his hammer Mjolnir resting on his shoulder.

This area is a long stretch of cafes, bars, and restaurants all situated along the water! I’ve had a few coffees down here, the price doesn’t change for coffee; however the food and alcohol are definitely more expensive!

Content: Did I get you overly excited?? Good! Be patient… almost there!🙈 But first let’s talk about this delicious meal I had! This is called “Räkasallad” which means shrimp salad. 🥗 It had avocados, shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, and hard boiled eggs! Ok the thing I’ve been dying to tell you about…. This mojito! It’s like the American mojito; however it has more ingredients! It had this orange tang and zest to it topped with a little bit of a cranberry syrup!

Content: Segway Tour This was all thanks to my boyfriends father who payed for this excursion for us! So, there’s no break and there’s no go button on a Segway. In order to go forward, you lean forward. To stop, you lean backwards. But to back up, you also lean backwards, just a lot more lol. It’s super freaky at first! But you get the hang of it. My instructor said, “Whoever is the most afraid should go first.” Which everyone knew was me because I was literally shaking. 🙃 So I hopped on and surely enough, after about 5 minutes I got the hang of it!

Content: Fika time!🥰🥰🥰 Fika is so important in Sweden! In America it’s all about grabbing a coffee and going because you don’t have time to pause and take a break! America is too fast paced for that. Whereas, in Sweden, it’s recommended and suggested you take a pause in your day to relax, have a coffee, and chat with someone. My favorite part about Fika is that any type of desert/pastry you can think of can be eaten. Which is so funny because to me it basically is a pre desert time! Yet Swedes are a lot skinnier compared to Americans! Lol.

Content: Last beach stop 🚗 Okay I had to include this because this swan story was too funny and so unique!!! I had just asked my boyfriend to take photos of me standing next to the water. And as he was doing that, this swan just started coming toward us in the distance. It didn’t stop until it came right up to us and we had to walk away! #rude He stayed near our stuff for a few minutes, then got right back in the water and swam away. How bizarre?!

Lingonberry is found in Scandinavia and used in many dishes! It’s not very sweet, more lime a tart flavor.

Content: Let’s start off the last day right! With more exploring back in Stockholm city! My boyfriend and I once again started from Solna. It’s a 7 minute walk to the train station, “Solna Station.” From there you’ll take the train that says it’s going toward T-Centralen. Which is the center of Stockholm and where most people meet up.

Content: Who’s up for some Fika time?? Me me me!! 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ Here I had an oat milk latte with a kanelbulle. I hope you remember what that is by now. 😉 That’s okay, it’s called a cinnamon roll!🙈 The view was so worth it and we got super lucky!! There’s only 6 tables outside with this view. When I got there looking for a table there were none. The people sitting down saw me looking and told me how they were just about to leave so that we could take their spot! Super sweet. 🙈🙈 It was quite perfect timing!

This area is called “Sergels Torg” which is the name of this square, “torg.” The tall tower lien building lights up into many different vibrant colors at night. Red, purple, blue; it switches staying as one solid color. The last photo and video is in Odenplan which is one stop after Solna station. It’s right before T centralen. (For where I was living). This meant it was less than 5 minutes on the pendeltåg, which is what the train is called.

Content: Hagaparken- where the Royal Princess lives! 👸🏼 Hagaparken is just a 7 minute walk from our apartment. We have it pretty nice! We live next to a Royal park and the subway station as well as the largest mall in all of Scandinavia. At the end of the day we relaxed in hagaparken. It’s absolutely gorgeous in every season. In winter it’s like you’re walking through a fairytale it’s just so incredibly white! A true winter wonderland! ❄️⛄️ Hagapark has a butterfly sanctuary, a cafe to sip coffee and have a Fika, a verrryyyyy large space for exercising, a tennis court, ginormous lake, tent like buildings, a Chinese pagoda, and houses Princess Victoria! 👸🏼
