And then make your way to the famous red and orange houses for some photos

Content: Another 20 min walk to head to a beautiful sunset lookout over the city of Stockholm! This spot is definitely a local find and a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the end of your first travel day

Content: Next stop and we're visiting a spot that you'll be forgiven for thinking you've stepped into Belle's library from Beauty and the Beast! It's free to enter and if you have spare time, grab a book and settle into a chair to read. Otherwise it's a great spot for photos

Content: Next stop you're going back to the old town for lunch at this cafe under the cute yellow and red houses. Make sure to try Princess Cake, sponge cake with pink icing which is famous here

Content: Next stop is the Royal Palace where the Swedish royal family reside. You can do a tour around the palace, watch the changing of the guard or enjoy the views across the river.

Content: Sweden has a word for a feeling of togetherness and socialising by spending quality time with friends and family over cinammon buns, tea or coffee. And this word is fika Try having your own fika with an afternoon cinnamon bun from this nearby cafe

Content: Spend more time wandering around until it's time for sunset here. This was no doubt one of the highlights of Stockholm where I watched sunset with my friends. It's a bit of a climb but the views across the city are stunning and with the background of fiery red skies and cotton candy clouds.

Vasa Museum

Content: Start your day with a visit to the Vasa Musuem to check out a shipwrecked boat that unfortunately sunk in the 1700s after only making it 1km off the shore of Stockholm. Only after 333 years did they have the technology to bring the ship up again to find it almost perfectly preserved. You can spend 2 hours here exploring the exhibitions and learning more about life on the would have been boat and the role of women at this time. Cost: 110kr for students

Content: After soaking up some history, go for a paddle boat around the harbour! It's a really chill way to see the city from the water and is a perfect 4 person activity Cost: 100kr for 1 hour

Content: Finally on your last night it's time to have Swedish meatballs! You get your choice of meatball ranging from reindeer, venison, pork and beef and boar. We tried everything except the reindeer (which we would come to try later in Norway). Cost: 190kr for 6 meatballs, mash, lignon berries

Content: Start your first full morning with a hike! More info about this hike here: https://en.visitbergen.com/things-to-do/stoltzekleiven-p1529323 There is a steep incline up on rocks so be careful But luckily it evens out and it becomes a smooth walk to Fløyen.

Content: About halfway through the walk there's a hut you can take a break at. There's also a visitor book you can write your name down in alongside the names of so many others who have done the hike. Then you've made it to the top! Take your photos before heading back down.

Content: On your way down you can take the furnicular for about 90kr each. Don't forget to get a photo with the troll statue outside, a mythical creature from Norse legends that you'll see everywhere in Norway

A very famous way to get around the fjords (even though it is a bit expensive but everything is very organised) You can also make your own way around if you rent a car and therefore make your own way to other famous hikes such as trolltunga!

Make sure you're prepared for any weather as I got hailed on on the way down haha

Content: Grab some breakfast here and try the popular rye bread combinations here. They make little sandwiches made of rye bread and often a meat and vegetable garnishes. This was recommended by a friend and it was delicious and very affordable for roughly 17kr.

Content: Next is a visit to the Danish royal's residence! You can take a tour of the palace which I recommend. It was explained to us that the design of the house is meant to be a crescendo from a more basic room all the way up to the grand ball room. My favourite room was the last room which was completely made out of marble. It was stunning!

Content: After the tour, make your way to a popular food hall where you can pick from many cuisines for lunch And on your way there you'll walk through some of Copenhagen's beautiful gardens, don't forget to take photos!

Content: While you're in Copenhagen you have to visit Tivoli gardens! A theme park you can visit for rides or even just to explore, they often do themed decorations, in Oct you'll probably get to see their Halloween decorations which are so well done! Entry cost: 120kr for just entry, 250kr for rides and entry

Content: Time to head home! For us we headed back to Amsterdam for the Amsterdam Music Festival but feel free to extend your trip and spread the activities from the day before over a few extra days. It's always sad to leave but there's always more to explore when you come back!
