Content: The largest airport in Switzerland is generally a comfortable airport but the whole design is a bit dated (70s style). Security checks are ok and efficient. Border control is friendly and competent. Signage is generally ok but can be confusing sometimes. There are tons of luxury shops and duty-free shops around, most overcharge you.
Content: Immaculately clean with super friendly and helpful staff. They really made us feel welcome and made a hassle free stay. Room is nice, not huge, but well equipped and modern. Great location a few minutes walk from the main train station through a park.
Content: The old town is bordered by the central train station (Hauptbahnhof) in the north, Lake Zürich in the south, and spreads east and west several blocks from the Limmat River. It takes several hours to wander through the old town at a leisurely pace.
Content: Niederdorf is a small district located within the old town. This area is the main destination for the city’s nightlife and it is home to many shops, restaurants, and scenic side streets.
Content: The Grossmünster is a Protestant church that is located in the old town. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city. The church is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm
Content: Fraumünster is another main church in Zürich. This church is famous for the stained-glass windows that were designed by Marc Chagall in 1970.
Content: For a beautiful view over Zürich, walk to the top of Lindenhof hill. Find a spot along the sitting wall and enjoy the view.
Content: See 4,000 paintings and sculptures from the Middle Ages to present day. This collection includes art by Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Edouard Manet, and Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti.
Content: Home to Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Prada (just to name a few), this is one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world. This street starts at the central train station (Hauptbahnhof) and ends near Lake Zürich.

Content: This museum contains exhibits on Switzerland’s history, with paintings and sculptures from prehistory through the Middle Ages to the 20th century. See gothic art, carved altars, and coins from the Middle Ages.
Content: A popular thing to do while in Zürich is to take a boat cruise on Lake Zürich. This makes a nice break from walking the city streets and visiting museums.
Content: We ate here and loved it. This Italian restaurant serves delicious pasta dishes that aren’t overly expensive. It is located in the Niederdorf district of the old town so it makes a great lunch spot as you tour the old town.
Content: This museum is located outside of the old town, it is about a 20-minute walk from the old town.
Content: To get here, we took the train from Zürich (about 30 minutes) and then it is a 10-minute uphill walk to the viewpoint.This “mountain” is really just a large hill, but it provides a nice view over the city of Zürich.
Content: This is a must-visit while in Zürich. Downstairs is a shop selling all kinds of treats…pastries, Swiss chocolate, and cookies. Sprüngli is famous for their Luxemburgerli, which are mini macaroons.

Content: Today, we traveled right to the Bernese Oberland, by train, from Zürich. Hotel Alpenblick is a great value for the money you spend and we chose it since it’s a highly rated hotel that was cheaper than many in Mürren
Content: A 10-minute ride on a funicular zips you up to the top of Harder Kulm for a stunning view of the Swiss Alps. Stretched out in front of you are the mountains Mönch, Eiger and Jungfrau as well as views over Lake Brienz and Lake Thun.
Content: This is one of the most famous and the most picturesque towns in the Jungfrau region. Rustic houses, Swiss chalets, hotels, and restaurants all tumble together, while Staubbach Falls cascades down the sheer cliff next to the town.
Content: Mürren is a small town that is perched on a cliff, overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley. From town, you have panoramic views of Mönch, Eiger, and Jungfrau, the mountains that dominate the Bernese Alps. From Mürren, you get one of the best views of this mountain range.
Content: The Mürren via ferrata is a 2.2 km journey, part via ferrata and part hiking trail. You’ll cling to a cliff, climb down steep ladders, walk on a tightrope and a suspension bridge, and zip line across a ravine.

Content: The funicular runs from 9 am to 5 pm, departing every 15 minutes. Round trip tickets from Mürren cost 14 CHF and if you have the Swiss Rail Pass tickets cost 7 CHF
Content: From Mürren, a thrilling cable car ride transports you to the top to Schilthorn. Enjoy 360° views from the mountaintop. The view from here is phenomenal and we thought that this view is better than the view you get at Jungfraujoch.

Content: When you travel from Mürren to Schilthorn, you will transfer cable cars at Birg. On the way up or the way down, spend 30 minutes at Birg to visit the Thrill Walk.Steel platforms and ladders are bolted into the cliffs at Birg, giving visitors a thrilling, bird’s eye view of the Jungfrau massif.
Content: We had dinner and it was one of our favorite meals while in Switzerland. The food is good and the view is even better.

Content: Gimmelwald is a tiny, postcard perfect town located on the cliffs that tower over the Lauterbrunnen Valley. This town is smaller, less touristy version of Mürren. While you are here, don’t miss the Honesty Shop

Content: If you have plans to visit Jungfraujoch, you will pass through Kleine Scheidegg. Trains from Grindelwald, Wengen, and Lauterbrunnen drop off passengers at the railway station here. This is where you transfer onto the Jungfraubahn, the final leg of the journey up to Jungfraujoch.Because of its location high up in the mountains, you have wonderful views across the Lauterbrunnen Valley to Mürren and Gimmelwald.

Content: The only way to get to Jungfraujoch is by train. A trip up to Jungfraujoch is one of the best things to do in the Jungfrau region. Stand on one of the highest points in the Swiss Alps, walk through an ice cave, play in the snow, get panoramic views over the Alps, and hike out to Mönchsjochhütte.

Content: The walk from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg is one of the most popular hikes in the Jungfrau region. This easy, mostly downhill trail offers spectacular views of the mountain peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
Content: This is very similar to the Birg Thrill walk, with metal platforms that are bolted onto the cliffs. You will walk on suspended platforms and narrow bridges, with views of Grindelwald in the valley below.

Content: By train, you can also get to Zermatt on the Glacier Express. This scenic train journey starts in St. Moritz and ends at Zermatt. This hotel is located on a cliff above the town of Zermatt, so you not only get a spectacular view of the town but some rooms offer views of the Matterhorn as well.
Content: From the town of Zermatt, ride the very scenic Gornergrat railway to Gornergrat. Along the way, you are treated to some of the best views of the town

Content: A Michelin recommended restaurant high above Zermatt. The food we had was outstanding. The zander fish was fried just right. The quiche was the best I ever had. A truly unforgettable experience.

Content: It’s a series of gondolas and cable cars to get to Glacier Paradise. From Zermatt, on the southern end of town, ride the gondola to Furi, stay on the gondola to continue to Schwarzsee, and take a second gondola to Trockener Steg. From here, ride the almost brand new cable car to the summit. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is an alpine wonderland of ski slopes, panoramic vistas, ice carvings, and a unique view of the Matterhorn.
Content: From the Sunnegga Viewpoint, you get a great view of the Matterhorn.

Content: It is a 3-part journey to get here. Start with the funicular to Sunnegga. From Sunnegga, ride the gondola to Blauherd. From Blauherd, ride the cable car to Rothorn. The view from Rothorn is one of the most spectacular in Zermatt

Content: It started off great. From Blauherd (the middle station on the way up to Rothorn), we walked to Stellisee. The views of the Matterhorn from the far side of the lake were spectacular.This is one of the most popular hikes in Zermatt. With a visit to five alpine lakes and endless views of the Matterhorn, it sounded awesome.

Content: We took train from Zermatt its 3.5 hours train journey. Central location great value ..obviously a former office building converted...tastefully but the stairway and landings are very clinical
Content: This Spanish restaurant serves the best paella in town.
Content: We think the views across Lake Lucerne are spectacular. A crystal clear lake with a backdrop of the Alps…this is a gorgeous setting for a city.
Content: Kapellbrücke is the largest wooden covered bridge in Europe. Dating back to the 17th century, this medieval bridge contains paintings that depict Lucerne’s history.

Content: We rode the series of panoramic gondolas and cableway from Kriens round trip. We went directly to Pilatus Kulm.
Content: From Kriens, ride a series of two panoramic gondolas and a cableway to get to the top of Mt. Pilatus. Along the way, you will pass through two mountain stations. At the first station, Krienseregg, there is a small ropes course perfect for young children.

Content: We rode the toboggan and it’s awesome! At 1,350 meters in length, it’s a long ride to the bottom. As you are towed back to the top of the run, enjoy the mountain scenery and drift past the nearby cows, munching on grass, their bells creating a sort of alpine music that just seems so…Swiss!

Content: From Fräkmüntegg, we took the cableway to the top of Mt. Pilatus (Pilatus Kulm). This is called the Dragon Ride, since we got the sensation that we are flying.

Content: We climbed up to Esel. From here, you can look down at Lucerne and out across the Alps. I’m a bit bummed that it was so cloudy at the top but sometimes that’s just the way it goes!

Content: Absolutely delicious, handmade ravioli at cheap prices. CHF 13 for a portion is good value for money in Switzerland. The ravioli is seasonal based on the ingredients available at the time of year and the variety is very broad. The restaurant is quite small, but very cosy and the staff are extremely kind and helpful.

Content: We took a train from Lucerne to Zurich airport. it take around an hour to reach airport. From there we boarded our flight to home. It was a wonderful trip.
