Day 1 - 1 Jun 2021
Content: After a 3 or 4 hour drive from my hometown Wolverhampton, we finally made it to Devon. My partners family always stay at Ladram Bay Holiday Park. This was my first time here and I absolutely loved it ❤️ I’m not usually a fan of pebble beaches but this place just stole my heart 🥰 It reminded me of Thailand with the little cliff remain sitting in the middle of the this beach.
Day 1 - 1 Jun 2021
Content: After a full day of swimming in the sea and the holiday parks swimming pool/slides and outdoor water obstacles, we got ready for dinner. We went to the on site Pebble Restaurant and it was divine! 😋 I had the most terrific time and the food was spot on! I was so surprised at how good the food was! Most camp site food is less than average 😆
Day 2 - 2 Jun 2021
Content: From Ladram Bay Park there is a path amongst the left hand side of the coast which will lead you to Sidmouth town and sea front.
Day 2 - 2 Jun 2021
Content: After wandering around the beach we strolled into the town which is right on the sea front. We saw a cute cafe and a roast in a pasty caught my eye. I have never had a pasty that tasted like this 😍 I would honestly go back just to have it 😂
Content: My friends didn’t have anything from the cafe but they did have a chippy! 🤤 I can’t lie, I did steal a few chips 🤫 but it was a nightmare trying to avoid the seagulls with them 😂
Day 2 - 2 Jun 2021
Content: Towards the bottom of the main sea front I found a small fish stall. I just had to get some prawns and crab! 😝 It seems like all I did on this day was eat and enjoy the views 😂 There are lots of shops that we went into, I just didn’t take many pictures. I brought a shark tooth from Morocco and my friend purchased a crystal 💎
Day 3 - 3 Jun 2021
Content: We got up and ready in our swimwear and drove down to Exmouth beach. It was busier than I thought it would be as there were still restrictions in place. The beach is standard and the sea was brown but a beach is a beach and we made the most out of it 😁
Content: We went to have fish and chips again but it was awful 😞 The chips were oven chips and the fish cake tasted nothing like fish!! I was really disappointed ☹️ However, next to this chippy stand there is a play area for children and sand. Also beware of the seagulls again if you’re eating 🤣
Content: We ended up going to the pub about a 10 minute walk down and having drinks and dessert 😋 The cake was spot on and the pint was good👌
Day 4 - 4 Jun 2021
Content: An early morning to start driving down to Cornwall! It is a 2 hour drive away from Ladram Bay 🚗
Day 4 - 4 Jun 2021
Content: As soon as we arrived at Lizard Point there was a hail storm! ☔️ We we’re stuck inside until the sun finally came out.
Day 4 - 4 Jun 2021
Content: Once the rain cleared up we drove to Kynance cove which is a 10 minute drive from the Holiday park. You will have to pay for parking here or you can park further down the road in the town and walk along the edge which will take about an hour. This is the best beach I have ever been to in England. The water is so blue it makes you feel like you are in a different country. The sand is so soft and a lighter shade. Just be careful that you don’t get caught out in the tide. It’s very easy to go and look in the caves and come back and not realise that the tide has been coming in. We only went to look in those caves for about 25 minutes and by the time we came out to go back around the cove, the tide was up to our shins.
Day 4 - 4 Jun 2021
Content: At the top there is a cafe that serves snacks like muffins, flapjacks and cakes. You can also have a cup of tea, coffee or beverage. The flapjack and muffin were perfect 👍 Lunch with a view 😎
Day 5 - 5 Jun 2021
Content: Today we were heading down to Lizard Point Town which is a 5 minute drive from Kynance Cove. There are some cute shops here where you can grab food/drinks or look at gifts and souvenirs.
Day 5 - 5 Jun 2021
Content: From the village you can carry on walking further down towards the Lizard point view point. This is supposedly the most southern part of the UK. The views were amazing 🤩
Content: There is a cafe you stop and have a bite to eat or have a drink. I have a mixed berry smoothie whilst my friends had a coke and a cider🥤 There also many little birds that live in a bird house right at the restaurant and it’s awesome just watching them fly around whilst looking at the view 🐦 This is where we also saw seals! This is the only part of the coast we saw them on! 🦭
Content: If you come back on yourself and walk along the left side of the coast you will come across a light house. The coastal views are insane along the way.
Day 5 - 5 Jun 2021
Content: Continue walking along the coast until you get to Housel Bay. The coastal view is crazy. You will see signs that say caution ⚠️ because the cliff edge is unstable. You can feel the difference in the ground with each you take so please be careful. We ended up walking down to the sea across it. Oh and you might see a few cows and sheep along the way 🐮
Day 6 - 6 Jun 2021
Content: This is the first view you will see at Ruan Minor Beach. Once you have parked, you will have to walk down towards the sea and there will be a very narrow path up a hill on your right hand side. Only go up it if you fancy looking at this view haha.
Content: Walking further down the beach you find a small puddle formed from the sea and a bridge. Everyone’s dogs were having so much fun in this water.
Content: If you walk up the hill past the beach you will find a bunker!! We had a lot of fun pretending we were soldiers 😂 at least they had a good view whilst they waited.
Day 6 - 6 Jun 2021
Content: On the night I recommend going to Poldhu cove which is less than a 10 minute drive away. It’s perfect to have a picnic and watch the sunset 🧺
Day 7 - 7 Jun 2021
Content: Gunwalloe is a cove near to Poldhu Cove. There is an old church at the end of the cove before the walk to the top of the hill. The grass is really bouncy.
Day 7 - 7 Jun 2021
Content: This is the furthest drive which is about 30 minutes. Portreath is a small town in Cornwall next to the sea. I didn’t get to explore it much as the weather wasn’t great but there are few shops, and at the top of one of the hills/cliffs there is a lighthouse if I remember correctly
Day 7 - 7 Jun 2021
Content: For our last day we had to head back to Kynance Cove! The best beach in England! I miss this place so much 😅
