Content: After Guatemala we took a bus and a boat over to Caye Caulker! This place is much safer to be compared to Belize City. However, we got cat called a lot and some days it was just overwhelming. But don’t let that stop you! This small, yet perfect tropical island has everything you want and need! Snorkeling, diving, coffee shops, loads of seafood restaurants, night club right on the beach, and a table in the ocean to swim and eat food! Crazy cool! They also have chairs. 🤪 So let’s get started. 🥰

Content: Upon arrival we were hot and tired so before even going to the Airbnb we stopped at this restaurant in the sand for food and drinks! I got this cute smoothie lol. If you swipe you’ll see photos of what to expect when you first get to the island. These are little stands you’ll walk past. These stands sell wayyyyy over priced items. For example, my friend bought a sea shell necklace for $40 when in Hawaii she got one for $20.

Content: We sat down at Lazy Lizard to have a place for our things and ordered some fries. While waiting for fries we swam, jumped off this diving spot, and explored the area. Lazy Lizard is where everyone goes at night. It’s bustling with loads of people and it’s definitely loads of fun! They place loud music, so if you’re air bnb is near lazy lizard, and you’re a light sleeper, you’ll probably want to change places. 🤪 This is also the section with the chair and table in the ocean! 🤩

Content: 10/10 recommend this place! They have such delicious lobster for only $6 and they gave you two!!! This other meal was my friends, but I so easily could’ve eaten both. 🤪 Definitely get the lobster if you come to enjoy bar! Also go early, it gets packed!

Content: On the very next day went snorkeling! I don’t remember the name of the company but nearly all of them are the same. However, we chose this company because they only allow a small number on their boat which is great for seeing animals like manatees and sea turtles. That way you don’t scare them off. The max amount of people in this group was about 10. They provided all the snorkeling gear. And give you snacks and water during the trip. They took us to about 5 different places and it was almost a full day trip but not quite. Mostly because it took time getting to the different spots.

Content: What you need to know: The worlds second largest Great Barrier Reef is in Belize, and can be seen here in Caye Caulker. I brought my go pro along for the trip so you’ll get to see some underwater shots of all the sea critters! 🐠🐢🐙🐡

Content: Manatees, turtles, fish, oh my! Our guide stopped the boat in a random location in the ocean. We hopped off and followed him one by one style to where he knew manatees would be. They come to belize to rest and sometimes mate, but mostly just to rest. This was so true because when we did find one, he was basically just sleeping. But he moved around ever so slowly. They’re truly magnificent creatures! I was so happy when we got to see one!:) I also swam next to a sea turtle which wasn’t my first time seeing one, but was my first time swimming up next to one. Content: Feeding sharks!! This is another location where we got to be in the water with nurse sharks! It was definitely a crazy cool and scary situation, but they were harmless! Definitely a near experience for sure! The one thing I didn’t like is that the fish came up to us because they were lured. They put meat in the water and the fish and nurse sharks came after some time.

Content: Not a worry in the world 💕 The motto on this island is “go slow” you’ll even see signs of it everywhere around the island. Even the locals will tell you that if they see you walking fast past them! We were just walking fast past them so they wouldn’t cat call us lol. This spot is located at iguana beach bar and you can use the swing for free! It kind of sucks because it’s far away from the dock so you can’t get a good photo.

Vista del Mar

Content: This was back at the Airbnb that we stayed for the whole week. It’s called vista Del Mar and they have plenty of rooms. You don’t get your own bathroom however, that’s shared. But they have private showers so you take turns using them.

Content: Diving 🤍 My friend wanted to go diving for the rest of the days and I definitely wanted to go with her! But I had an unfortunate event that happened and couldn’t go which needed surgery when I went back to the US So for her she was diving most of the day. Whereas I rested, relaxed, and explored around the island by myself.

Content: Every morning I always came to Ice and Beans Cafe. They knew my order by heart lol. I’d also always get these yummy bagels from them! It was so nice just looking out at the beach every morning. Ice and Beans have vegan options for milk and for the food! Again it’s definitely a tourist trap. It’s pretty expensive on Caye caulker. The other option is to go to San Pedro in belize. Another island that’s much bigger!

You have the palm trees, white sand, tea water, pastel colors, the lobsters, fresh seafood, crazy locals, fresh fruit stands, love it. So definitely come to Caye caulker if you’re an/a 🐢 ocean lover 🌅Sunset seeker ☕️ Coffee addict 🌊 Diver or into swimming/snorkeling 🏝 Island girl/guy 🚶‍♀️Like to take life slow

Content: That’s a wrap🤍🐡✨ Caye Caulker is definitely a tourist trap. It’s not like it’s super expensive to stay in the air bnbs, but they’re very low budget and not well done. Like the air bnb we stayed in didn’t even have AC. So we had to switch to a different room the next day. It was terrible that first night just using fans in a place that is 90’s-100’s daily. Plus humidity. The food is expensive. At most restaurants. We were budget traveling so everywhere we went was on a budget. We were each paying around $15 a night for our air bnb, splitting the cost. The snorkeling wasn’t too expensive but it can be and does add up. Especially with the blue hole which is known for belize. You can ride in a helicopter over it, dive it, or snorkel it. We didn’t do either of them because it was all such expensive options. However I encourage you to do that if you have more money since it’s not common to see.
