Day 1 - 22 Mar 2022
Content: Yaay welcome to Costa Rica! I arrived at La Fortuna late last night with a few buses and a taxi drive later. During my first day in La Fortuna I took an Uber to the bottom of Cerro Chato and hiked up the volcano to the crater lake. The hike costs $12 and you can pay it before entering the volcano track. The hike is very challenging and difficult so to do this hike you must have good shoes and bring a lot of water and snacks. It takes about 2 ½ hours to hike to the top and then 30min to walk down to the crater lake. Then 30min walk back up and 1 ½ - 2 hours down. I would highly recommend this hike!
Content: In La Fortuna I’m staying in a hostel called SantaFe and the host is most welcoming, and gave me all the good tips for the area. The hostel also looks so cute with a big kitchen and a cute little garden. The hostel is also pretty cheap, around 8€/night.
Day 2 - 23 Mar 2022
Content: Feeling sore after yesterday’s hike so I decided to have a chill day exploring some free waterfalls in the area. First I walked to El Salto which is about 20 min walk from the center. There’s a rope swing and cliffs to jump to the river. Fun place to meet locals too.
Day 2 - 23 Mar 2022
Content: In the afternoon I went to the hot springs. The free hot springs are located in Tobacon and you can access the river following the little track from the street. It gets very busy during the day but it's totally worth it to visit and relax for a few hours.
Day 3 - 24 Mar 2022
Content: After having a relaxing day in the hot springs yesterday, today I hitchhiked to the Volcan Arenal National Park. The park has two areas one inland and one next to the lake. You can visit both parts with the same ticket. I loved walking around the jungle and seeing the wildlife. I saw some beautiful birds, iguanas and racoons.
Content: In the evening I went back to the hot springs with some friends from the hostel where I was staying. We took some candles with us, put them around us on the rocks and enjoyed the surroundings. We also saw some fireflies which made this experience even more magical.

Content: Chill day at the beach after all the traveling yesterday. Swimming, playing cards, tanning.
Day 6 - 27 Mar 2022
Content: Hike to the secret beach Today I hiked to a beach called Playa izquierda. The hike there was beautiful but very hot and sweaty. There are some amazing views from the top to the beach though. And when I walked down to the beach there was no one else. Super nice to spend a couple hours without other people around.
Day 7 - 28 Mar 2022
Content: Surfing 🌊 Today I did a little roadtrip to Nosara with two friends from the hostel. One of the guys had a car so we joined him for the drive. At the beach we rented a surfboard, went surfing and enjoying playing with the waves.
Day 8 - 29 Mar 2022

Bus Nicoya to Barranca 3. Bus Barranca to Puntarenas 4. Bus Puntarenas to Quepos Arrived in Quepos in the afternoon and had a lunch in town in a restaurant close to the Banco Nacional. (Can't find the name) They have delicious local dishes and vegan options available.
Content: In Quepos I stayed in a hostel called hostel Pilnio. A beautiful place between Quepos and Manuel Antonio national park. The hostel has a pool, common kitchen and a Mexican restaurant next to it. Live music on Fridays.
Day 9 - 30 Mar 2022
Content: Today I visited Manuel Antonio National Park and woow it was so beautiful there! The beaches were some of my favourites I've seen in Costa Rica and it was easy to spot wildlife there. I saw sloths, iguanas, lizards, butterflies, crabs and a lot of monkeys. The park opens at 7am and I'd recommend going early for a better chance of seeing animals and having less other tourists.
Day 10 - 31 Mar 2022
Content: Travel Day! Today I traveled from Quepos to Monteverde. 1. Bus to Puntarenas 2. Bus Puntarenas to Monteverde
Content: In Monteverde I checked in to a hostel called Mi Casa Tica. A quiet hostel near the center. The receptionist was fun and gave some great tips for the area. They also had a cute mascot at the hostel.
Day 11 - 1 Apr 2022
Content: Adventure Time! Today I ticked off one item from my bucket list as I went ziplining 🤩 I booked a tour through Monteverde Extremo which costed $52 and it was so worth the money. Ziplining through the jungle, from mountain top to another, two times a superman and a Tarzan swing. Crazy fun and a must do activity in Monteverde.
Day 12 - 2 Apr 2022
Content: Today I visited three free attractions in Monteverde that I was recommended by the hostel receptionist.
Content: 1. Ficus tree Amazing nature wonder, quiet small river with a huge ficus tree. Incredible and peaceful place.
Content: 2. Casa Lindora natural hot springs A hidden gem surrounded by mountains and jungle.
Content: 3. Sunset Hill The most amazing (sunset) views over Costa Rica.

Day 14 - 4 Apr 2022
Content: Today I visited the Cahuita National Park and totally fell in love with it. It's a place where the rainforest meets the beach. The wildlife is also very versatile here. A beautiful place to visit and spend a few hours exploring and relaxing at the beach. The park is based on donations, so you pay as much as you want. Tip: don't leave your belongings alone because there are a lot of curious monkeys ready to steal your food and bags.
Day 15 - 5 Apr 2022
