Day 1 - 11 Feb 2019
Content: We took a 3 hours American Airlines flight from Miami International Airport to Punta Cana International Airport. It is the best airport i have ever seen, there is bamboo leaves roof and children play area is also available. Customs and security were fast.
Content: With a 20min drive we reached our destination for today which is Bavaro Beach, known for its beautiful calm waters and crystalline white sands. The beach was very clean and not much crowded. spent our evening here watching amazing sunset.
Content: Booked a rental car for our entire journey from the airport itself, with a 10 min drive we reached our hotel. We got a ocean facing spacious room and hospitality was top notch.
Content: Had dinner at the hotel itself, the food and drinks were reasonable. The taste was amazing and staff was very attentive.
Day 2 - 12 Feb 2019
Content: After breakfast, with a 1 hour drive and reached La Romana Cruise Terminal. A ideal place for golfers and divers. From here we boarded a boat.
Content: Boarded a Catamaran boat to Catalina Island, known for coral reefs and many species of sea birds and tropical fish. The water is emerald and beach is small.
Content: We were served food on an open bar on beach, loved the food and sweet music. There are many vendors on the beach which is sometimes annoying.
Content: Catalina Island offers best Snorkeling experience, watched many species of fishes and many other aquatic creatures. would highly recommend to try a couple dive here.
Content: Returned back to La Romana Cruise Terminal, from where we had a 30min drive to Altos de Chavon, which is a copy of 16th century European village. the best place to spend evening watching Chavon River and exploring old architecture.
Day 3 - 13 Feb 2019
Content: After breakfast took a 3 hour and reached Santo Domingo, which is Capital of the Dominican Republic. Here we visited our first destinantion for today the colonial zone. This place attracts towards its Spanish architecture.
Content: Alcazar de Colon is a residence of a member of the Christopher Columbus's family, which is also known as Columbus Alcazar. It is declared as UNESCO world heritageconsists of amazing well placed artifacts. Audio guide facility is available.
Content: the Ozama Fortress is the first permanent military structure in the Americas, marking the beginning of Spanish colonization. Great place with breath taking views, guide is not needed as there is nothing much to explore.
Content: Primada de América Cathedral is first and oldest cathedral known for its limestone facade & vaulted interior. It is a peaceful place with magnificent columns and colored windows.
Content: Checked-in to a hotel near to city center. Staff is very much welcoming, hospitality was excellent, cleanliness was exceptional. If you are lucky you can have a room with spectacular ocean view.
Content: After a long hectic day had dinner at the hotel itself, The food was amazing and well served, common area was large enough. Need to go early as are there limited choice later.
Day 4 - 14 Feb 2019
Content: With a white egg omelette in breakfast we started our journey 3 hour journey towards Los Haitises National Park. known for its rock formation. It is a Jewel where a boat tour is required to reach there, many small boat guides are available. The best thing is no roads connects the area.
Content: After exploring Caves and mangrove trees we took a short boat ride and reached Punta Arena beach. Had a swim in crystal clear water, good place to relax.
Day 4 - 14 Feb 2019
Content: With a 2 hour drive, We checked-in to hotel, good location for excursions, rooms are good but the staff is not much experienced. But overall comfortable and cozy hotel.
Content: Had dinner at the hotel, food was delicious but buffet should be improved, Price are reasonable.
Day 5 - 15 Feb 2019
Content: In the morning with a short catamaran ride reached Saona Island. The island is known for variety of turquoise beaches and snorkeling. Place consists of clear water and white sand best place to do activities and relax.
Content: Hiked towards Cueva del Puente located Del Este National Park. While hiking we saw many species of flowers, and passing through caves was an amazing experience. The place was not much crowded which was a good factor.
Content: Canto De La Playa is the last beach of the island where we took a sun bath and relaxed at the beach, water is crystal clear and sometimes star fish can be seen on the coast.
Day 5 - 15 Feb 2019
Content: With a 1 hour drive from La Altagracia returned back to Punta cana for our over night stay. Great ocean view location near to airport, Staff is attentive and rooms are cozy.
Content: Dropping off our luggage, we took a 30 min drive to hotel, They offered great selection, we Ordered steak and lobsters for dinner which was up to the mark, Staff was very helpful and polite, taste was great.
Day 6 - 16 Feb 2019
Content: We took a 30 min drive from airport and reached Punta Cana International Airport from where we boarded a 3 hours American Airlines flight to Miami International Airport. check-in was extremely smooth and flight was comfortable.
