Content: I took a chicken bus to the beach. The trip takes around one hour and it's a fun experience to travel in the crowded local bus. The beach is beautiful and pretty quiet. A perfect place to relax for a few hours. Sunset is super beautiful here too.

Content: For the first night in León I stayed in a hostel called Via Via. The hostel has a restaurant too and which makes it a great place to meet local people. Also breakfast included in the room price.

Volcano Day Nicaragua
Content: What a fun day! Today I went volcano boarding 🤩 I did this tour with a company called Volcano Day and I can recommend going with them. The tour included transport, a snack, clothing and a backpack, the sledge, pictures and videos and a guide. Price $30. First we hiked up the volcano, took some photos on the top and then slided down the volcano. On the top of the volcano it gets really windy so my tip would be to pay someone to carry your board up. You're going to thank me later. It was the best $4 spent.

Content: Travel Day I decided to go on a very spontaneous trip to the Corn islands. First I took a bus to Managua and from there I flew to the Big Corn island. From the Big Corn island I took a little ferry/boat to the Little Corn island. Full travel day but ended up in Paradise.

Content: Accommodation: Gracie's Cool Spot In the Little Corn island I stay in beach front cabins. Beautiful place right on the beach with breakfast included and only costs 14€/night. Also has a shared kitchen.

Content: Beach day Today I explored the beaches around the island and this place is truly a PARADISE! Palm trees everywhere, crystal clear water and Caribbean vibes.

Content: For dinner I went to Desideri restaurant and enjoyed the evening there listening to live music.

Content: Today I did a snorkeling trip. I booked the trip through Gracie's Cool Spot, they have a guy called Marvin that does snorkeling tours for $25 and the tour includes the snorkeling gear, 4 snorkeling spots and a coconut. We saw a lot of colourful fish, big shells, coral, and sharks.

Content: Today I spent another chill day exploring the beaches and swimming. Go to the Otto beach on the north shore of the island. There's a restaurant where to get food and drinks. At the beach you can also find a swing which makes it a perfect photo spot.

Content: In the evening I went to have dinner and drinks at Tranquilo cafe. It's a nice and cosy restaurant.

Content: Last full day in the paradiseeeeeeee Today I woke up at 5am to see the sunrise. Later I explored more of the island with my local friend. We climbed up the lighthouse, walked to the other side of the island, went swimming and snorkeling and drank a Coco locos at the beach. In the evening we made a bonfire and sang some songs. What a perfect day!

Content: For the first night of my stay in Ometepe I'm staying in a hostel called Casa Mauro. It's a very quiet hostel but only costs $7 with breakfast included. The hostel also has a shared kitchen.

Hostel life is good
Content: In the morning after breakfast I changed to a new hostel for the next few nights. The hostel is more expensive but still okay around $12 a night but breakfast is not included in the price and the hostel doesn't have a shared kitchen. That was a bit of a disappointment. The hostel has a nice restaurant though with vegan options available.

Content: In the afternoon I took a tuktuk to Punta Jesus Maria. This place is known for its beautiful sunset view.

Content: Today I rented an ATV with a friend from the hostel. We spent the day exploring the island.

Content: Our first stop was Ojo de Agua natural pools. This place is such a beautiful spot for swimming. There are two pools that are connected to each other, a slack line and a jumping platform. There's also a restaurant in the area. A must go in Ometepe.

Content: Our second spot was El Pital where we ate lunch. I ordered avo bagels and a raw vegan Snickers bar. The place is known for its chocolate and it was delicious.

Content: Our final stop of the day was Mangos beach. When we got there it started raining so we didn't really have the best beach weather. It was still a beautiful spot. There's a bar so it's a nice place to have a drink and it's also known to be the best sunset spot in the island.

Content: I arrived to San Juan del Sur around midday and decided to eat lunch in town before taking a shuttle to my hostel. Cute cafe place with vegan options available. I went for the typical Nica plate.

Content: For the first two nights I treated myself in a bit more luxurious hostel. Hush has a beautiful location up in the hill so you get stunning views over the Pacific Ocean. There's also a restaurant and the breakfast is included in the room rate.

Content: Today I changed hostels to stay in the town of San Juan del Sur. Salt water hostel is a nice one with good common areas, a shared kitchen but there's also an affordable restaurant in case you don't want to cook your own meals. The hostel is close to the center and the beach is just in a 5 minute walking distance.

Content: Today I just spent the day cooking at the hostel, going to the beach and enjoyed my last sunset in Nicaragua.

Content: Adiós Nicaragua! During these two weeks I totally fell in love with the country. So many beautiful places to visit from volcanoes to Caribbean beaches. Also as a solo female traveler I felt safe during all of my trip. So I can totally recommend Nicaragua for anyone else too.
