Day 1 - 10 Feb 2022
Content: Bocas del Toro is one of Panama’s most famous spots to hang out thanks to its incredible blue waters and accommodation overhanging the ocean - and Selina of course (like most places these days) is the place to stay! Spend your first day just chilling by the ocean and wandering the town.
Day 2 - 11 Feb 2022
Content: Hopefully you can plan your visit to include a Friday in Bocas as it’s famous for the ‘Filthy Friday’ island crawl! You’ll spend the day being taken to numerous amazing islands to hang out on decks over the water listening to music and tanning! The event actually doesn’t allow photos right now - so we don’t have more than this to share with y’all - you’ll just have to experience it yourself! Even if you’re not a big drinker (like us), this was still a great day!
Day 3 - 12 Feb 2022
Content: Spend your next day beach hopping around the various islands of Bocas Del Toro - Starfish Beach is a must for everyone! We didn’t actually see any starfish beach here, but we’re informed others did!
Day 4 - 13 Feb 2022
Content: From Bocas spend the next day travelling inland to a totally different environment of Boquete. There’s lots of places to stay within the town, but we really recommend staying just outside at Bambuda Castle! The views & sunsets are just something else from here! It’s the perfect place to chill after a few days in Bocas!
Day 5 - 14 Feb 2022
Content: Boquete is all about being outdoors, so spending the next morning hiking around the Volcán Barú national Park is what you’ll do! There’s lots of hikes to choose from of varying difficulty and length.
Day 5 - 14 Feb 2022
Content: After a morning hiking around an afternoon at one of the numerous coffee plantations is the perfect way to chill. Dos Jefes is the most famous one to visit and costs $30pp to tour for a few hours - it includes lots of coffee tasting too!
Day 5 - 14 Feb 2022
Content: We were recommended to eat at The Rock by several people and the food really lived up to expectations! Head out for a fancy dinner here one night!
Day 6 - 15 Feb 2022
Content: One of the most famous things to check off in Boquete is the suspension bridge walk through the forests. The experience costs $30pp and includes return transportation from the town up to the mountain resort. You’ll spend a few hours walking 4.5km along hanging bridges among the treetops at up to 75 meters in height!
Day 7 - 16 Feb 2022
Content: From Boquete make the long journey down to the coast to the small town of Santa Catalina for some beach paradise time! Bodhi is the spot you’ll want to stay, from here you can wander down to the local beach or go slightly further to Playa Arrimadero. This is where you’ll surf from if that’s your thing!
Day 8 - 17 Feb 2022
Content: Get ready for a little adventure today! You can rent kayaks in Santa Catalina to make the 30-40 minute kayak out to the tiny uninhabited island of Isla Santa Catalina. We were lucky enough to have these perfect beaches all to ourselves! If you don’t fancy kayaking you can also take a tour boat or pay a guy to take you out and pick you up!
Day 9 - 18 Feb 2022
Content: Coiba National Park is a large collection of islands that are about a 2 hour boat ride from Santa Catalina - but this is the best launching point to reach them. We did a dive day out here with 3 dives at various spots around the park and lunch on the main Coiba Island - it’s an incredible place to see! If you don’t dive then snorkelling trips are also an option! This is a full day experience.
Day 10 - 19 Feb 2022
Content: From Santa Catalina make the 6 hour journey to the other side of the peninsula to Playa Venao and check in at the first ever Selina location! There’s not too much to do in Venao except chill and surf and Selina is the perfect base for this.
Day 11 - 20 Feb 2022
Content: Spend your day chilling & surfing and then get ready for the most incredible sunset!!
Day 12 - 21 Feb 2022
Content: Arrive in Valle de Anton and check in - we stayed at a beautiful finca called Valle Luna which we would highly recommend, but there’s also a Bodhi Hostel here that we can recommend!
Day 12 - 21 Feb 2022
Content: Spend the afternoon wandering around the butterfly sanctuary in town - it closes at 4pm and takes less than an hour to get around and see the beautiful butterflies but is well worth a little visit!
Day 13 - 22 Feb 2022
Content: The Cerró la Silla hike is a relatively easy hike that should take just a few hours if you take transport (or drive yourself as we did) to the start. If you walk from town it will take much longer! The views are incredible from the top!
Day 13 - 22 Feb 2022
Content: After a morning of hiking spend the afternoon checking out these falls - there’s a cool little loop you can do through the jungle and it’s only $5pp entry!
Day 14 - 23 Feb 2022
Content: Have a very early 5am start to get to the top of India Dormida (named sleeping Indian as it kind of looks like a human lying down) to watch the sunrise over Anton Valley - it’s an amazing experience! You’ll probably want to rest the rest of the day or just wander the town.
Content: Head out to Cerró La Cruz for the best spot to watch sunset!
Content: After the sunset head to seemingly the most popular place in town for food!
