Day 1 - 5 May 2022
Content: Northern California is filled with beautiful landscapes but the most beautiful thing we found was all the blends of culture you can find. In this travel guide we will show you the most beautiful natural hikes we found in Yosemite, as well as our favorite cultural secret spots in the City of San Francisco. These two places were a great contrast of city and nature in Northern California, we highly suggest going here spring time. Day 1 - 5 May 2022
Content: Right before we decided to walk on the Lands End Trail, we decided to go down to Sutro Baths! We did a bit of exploring but we didn’t bother going into the baths since they were a bit dirty 😅. We would definitely recommend checking out this spot before you walk the Lands End Trail!
Content: Lands End Trail is amazing! Not only does it have miles worth of trails, but you also get an incredible view of the Golden Gate Bridge!
Content: Go to the Painted Ladies it is beautiful! The Painted ladies, or the full house lawn and house rows is a must! It is a combination of a beautiful park, quaint home neighborhoods, and a view of the city and even the bridge!
Day 2 - 6 May 2022
Content: The Japan town is SO COOL! It is like you are transported to Tokyo! There are all things Japanese and anime in the mall village and around the area. The food is amazing too!
Content: Troya was one of our favorite spots to eat in SF. The Mediterranean food was a nice change up from what we normally eat, and the staff was super nice! Make sure you try the lamb pita!
Content: Not sure how we ended up on the worlds most crooked street, but it was an experience nonetheless! Just don’t switch up the gas and the break…
Day 3 - 7 May 2022
Content: This little coffee shop had so much character. The modern aesthetic combined with some creative zest really makes the place stand out. Makes a good cup of coffee too!
Content: China town was incredible! Very authentic and the biggest China town we have ever seen in a city! Try to taste the tea at the shops and see the dragon dancing festivals!
Content: The food tasted so fresh, it was like it came right out of the water! The menu had a lot of variety but the spacing inside the restaurant was a bit crowded.
Day 4 - 8 May 2022
Content: We took a walk around Little Italy and loved the place! We went down to Washington Square Park where they were holding a mini festival with food and music. Apparently that park is at the heart of Little Italy, and they host stuff there all the time so definitely check it out!
Content: The De Yeung Museum, park, and tea garden are all musts to go to in this beautiful city!
Content: As far sushi restaurants go, this one is pretty hard to beat! Although it comes at a hefty price tag, the high quality sushi and overall environment at Kusakabe make it worth while.
Day 5 - 9 May 2022
Content: Yosemite was incredible! 🍄🧭Yosemite Travel Guide: 1. ⛰Yosemite Valley The main area of Yosemite National Park. It has a beautiful view of El Capitan ridge (famous climbing ridge) the Bridalveil waterfall, and the Half Dome. *The car tunnel bridge is the best view of it! It is worth going and exploring around the area.
Day 5 - 9 May 2022
Content: 2. 🌳Grizzly Giant Sequoia and Mariposa Grove: This is a must! These red wood trees are unlike any trees in the world. These trees are old, wise, and almost spiritual. Being around them and feeling the sheet size and energy coming from these monstrous red tinted trees rooted into the soil. *Tips for this trail: there is a woods trail that is around 5 miles back and there, and there is a road option that goes up to where the trees are (shuttle or walking options only) Go on a day where there are less people!
Day 5 - 9 May 2022
Content: 3. 💦Chilnualna waterfall: An off the beaten tourist path waterfall more near the east of the park. This hike is easy with great a waterfall and is not very busy. *This is a great and easy hike with beautiful scenery.
Day 5 - 9 May 2022
Content: 4. 🎣Fly Fishing with @yosemiteflyfishing: Fly fishing guides are all around Yosemite National Park. Cal and I learned fly fishing and was guided around the local river beds to where we could catch rainbow trout! (Kasey caught 2!) It was so fun and a great new skill/passion to try out!
Day 5 - 9 May 2022
Content: 5. ⛰El Capitan: There is a hike near this ridge. You can walk all the way back to the bottom of the rock to where climbers start their climb. *If you watched @freesolofilm the recent movie about @alexhonnold one of the best climbers in the world, recently scaled this mountain with no baley or rope. It’s iconic too see the sheer height in person.
Day 5 - 9 May 2022
Content: We hope you enjoyed out Northern California Travel Guide. If you have more questions feel free to reach out to us. We found amazing foods and cultural spots. The lodging we found was average and pretty normal basic hotel finds. The hotels in San Francisco were incredibly expensive for the basic immensities. In Yosemite we found the lodges in the park to be an amazing silent get away after the city. These two spots were our favorite but we also suggest Davis area and Santa Cruz. You definitely need a car for this Northern California road trip. Enjoy and tune into more travel tips and guides from Compass Travelers Magazine.
