Content: When you come to Maui, there’s basically two main places of the island that people stay. You can either stay on the southside in Kihei, or you can stay on the west side up by Kaanapali and Lahaina, and that’s where you’ll find all your five star resorts. I like staying in Kihei because it’s more relaxed, less bougie, and you generally get better value for your money We stayed at the Banyan Vacation club and it was perfect for two people. We had more than enough space to move around, great value for money, and the wife was good

Content: One of my favorite things about Maui is the hiking on the island. We came to the state monument pretty early before it got hot and did a quick hike. There’s a secret trail at the very top of the monument where you get to the top, and then duck under railings, and keep going up for about half a mile. It’s a pretty well-known trail but it is secret! make sure you do it since not a lot of people know about it

Content: Another morning hike at Waihee Ridge Trail. This trail is such a hit or miss depending on the weather, but I actually love when it’s foggy. If you go early in the morning, the fog usually clears out by mid day and you get a gorgeous view of the ocean. Unfortunately for me it it didn’t clear up but I still got these really cool foggy shots in the weirdest thing is that it’s not cold at all

Content: There’s so much to do and see on the road to Hana to have to be good with planning and limited with the destinations that you choose. We knew that we wanted to do some waterfall jumping and just see some waterfalls in general so we drove past Twin Falls, which is pretty touristy, and stopped at this smaller waterfall about a half hour after the three bears fall

Content: So most people will drive into Hana and then drive back out the way that they came in, but we decided that we wanted to go around the entire island. I would not recommend this. The road was unpaved, so bumpy, so windy, and I literally thought we were gonna die for a good part of it. The view is spectacular though but like I said, you definitely need a 4 x 4 car as well

Content: I’m pretty sure this is on everybody’s list for the number one best beach in all of Maui. It’s actually three beaches in one and the big beach is the best one. It’s in a state park so there is technically an entrance fee but it’s worth it and I think it’s only five bucks. We spent all day here

Kahului Airport

Content: Our flight back to San Francisco was at 10 AM. We packed up, returned the rental car, and made it for out flight! It was an amazing trip, and Maui/Hawaii in general are one of my favorite destinations in the world. If you follow me on Instagram you’d probably know that by now haha 🌺 TIPS FOR VISITING MAUI 🌺 🐢 you definitely need a rental car to get around 🐢 people mainly stay on the west side in Kaanapali or Lahaina, or in the southside in Kihei. Both are great places to stay, it just depends on the type of trip that you’re looking for 🐢 there’s probably never a bad time to visit Hawaii. It’s perfect weather year-round 🐢 Pack a poncho! You can get them on Amazon for five bucks, but it sometimes rains intermittently in Hawaii for like 10 minutes at a time, and then it’s over
