Day 1 - 1 Mar 2022
Content: Hi! Welcome to my hometown of San Francisco. I’m going to show you around the city in this perfect seven day itinerary for your next visit to California ☀️ 💕
Content: If you’re deciding where to stay in the city, this is my number one recommendation for Hotels. I recommend this hotel for all friends and family that I know coming into the city because it is a boutique hotel, centrally located, with an on-site restaurant and bar, and overall has great value for money. I think hotels in San Francisco are generally more expensive just given that we’re in California, so this is one of the best options for a luxury experience at regular prices
Content: Grab the cable car on Polk or Hyde Street and take it down to the water and visit Ghirardelli Square. This is an iconic way to see the city! I think it cost five dollars one way to ride the cable car
Content: Ghirardelli Square is one of the best places to start off your trip. There are restaurants, shops, an amazing chocolate. You can catch a cable car here and ride it around the city or you can grab a beer at SF brewing and enjoy the view of the water on a sunny day
Content: There’s a really cute SF themed miniature golf course in Ghirardelli Square that is fun for a group of friends or the entire family. All of the holes are San Francisco themed and the decor is super cute
Content: Make sure to catch the sunset at Crissy Field before heading to dinner! Especially on a clear day, you can see all the colors of the sky 🍭
Content: San Francisco has some of the best Italian food in the country and seven Hills is definitely at the top of the list. It is in the Russian Hill neighborhood, on a street with a handful of restaurants and shops and wine bars. It’s so good
Day 2 - 2 Mar 2022
Content: Hands-down the best bakery in the entire city. They have multiple locations throughout San Francisco but I like the one on Sutter or the one in the Castro the best They serve fresh pastries, crepes, and full brunch. So good 💕
Content: Another relatively touristy spot is the painted ladies, which you might recognize from the full house series. Even though it’s touristy, we locals like to spend a lot of time at the many parks in the city. Grab a blanket, some drinks and snacks, and just enjoy the view
Content: Sutro baths is a complex that used to be an outdoor swimming pool that was destroyed by fire in the 1980s. It’s one of the best places to watch the sunset in San Francisco
Content: After the park, Head to che fico for some delicious and authentic Italian food. They have the best tiramisu I’ve ever had in my entire life and a really good wine list
Day 3 - 3 Mar 2022
Content: Have you ever seen the most photographed bridge in the world at sunrise? If not, it’s definitely worth getting up early to see this incredible view. Hawk Hill is the number one spot to watch the sunrise over the Golden Gate Bridge
Day 3 - 3 Mar 2022
Content: I know this is the locals guide and Golden Gate Bridge is super touristy, but as a local, I still come here from time to time to take photos and to run along the water. Make sure to check the weather before coming here because a lot of people are disappointed when it sometimes is usually so foggy that you can’t see anything
Content: The marina district is one of the nicest districts in the city. It’s by the water and has a ton of different stores and restaurants on Union Street or Chestnut Street. Wildseed is a complete vegan restaurant serving delicious healthy bowls
Content: After shopping or spending the day in the marina, walk to the palace of fine arts during the evening time to witness the monument and its glory. This was built during the world fair and is one of the last remaining structures in San Francisco. It’s a great place to spend an evening walk especially on a warm day
Day 4 - 4 Mar 2022
Content: There are a lot of day trips that you can take from San Francisco, but near Beach is only a 30 minute drive away and it makes you feel like you’re in a different place. You can take a bus, Uber, or drive here but there are tons of trails that you can walk on to enjoy the view
Day 4 - 4 Mar 2022
Content: Before driving back to San Francisco, make sure to stop at hog island for some fresh delicious oysters. There’s also a hog island in the ferry building if you don’t want to stay in Marin
Content: Spend more time in the marina district if you can, since there’s a lot to see and do!
Content: Stop by the corner of Fillmore and Greenwich for a quick drink at Wilder before heading to dinner. There’s a ton of bars and restaurants with parklets outside where you can sit and people watch with a drink in your hand
Content: After spending more time in the Marina, grab dinner at Delarosa on Chestnut Street. They’re salsiccia pizza is amazing, but if pizza isn’t your thing there’s also a ton of other restaurants on the same block
Day 5 - 5 Mar 2022
Content: Polk Street is a mile long street that runs between the Russian hill and knob Hill neighborhood. It is a Street filled with restaurants, shops, coffee shops, and other fun stores. Saint Frank coffee is one of the best coffee shops in the city and is a great place to start your day
Content: From Polk, you can either walk or Uber down to the ferry building. If it’s a nice day out, I would suggest walking along the Embarcadero for amazing and stunning views of the water and bay bridge. The ferry building usually has farmers market on Thursday and Saturday mornings and they have a ton of fresh and delicious baked goods
Content: Is it baseball season? If so, you need to buy tickets to a Giants game ASAP even if you’re not a fan of baseball. We have one of the most beautiful parks in the world, and you can typically find tickets in the bleachers for about 20 bucks
Content: After the game, had to North Beach for more amazing Italian food. North Beach is the little Italy of San Francisco with over 100 different family owned Italian restaurants and stores. Original Joe’s is a staple of the city and they have amazing fried donuts filled with Nutella for dessert (bombolini)
Day 6 - 6 Mar 2022
Content: If youve looked at any of my other itineraries, you would know that I need my coffee in the morning, especially when I travel. Café reveille has delicious latte, açai bowls, and other breakfast goods to get your day started
Content: Along with coffee, exercise of some sort is essential for me. Bodyrok on Polk is a great way to get a quick and efficient 40 minute workout in and you can book a class directly from their website or on ClassPass
Content: I mentioned that locals really like to hang out in parks in San Francisco and enjoy the nature. A lot of people of the city because of all the things that you can do outside. Lafayette Park is a very centrally located park that you can grab a blanket, drinks and snacks, and even bring your dog to enjoy the day
Content: Go grab a cocktail at the tipsy pig! It’s where all the locals hang out and they have delicious cocktails and small bites
Content: If you’re staying at Hotel kabuki, this is the best place to grab Ramen in the area. There are a ton of different restaurants to choose from, but this Ramen is super authentic and the service is impeccable. I got the spicy miso tonkatsu 🍜
Day 7 - 7 Mar 2022
Content: This is a decent place to grab brunch before heading to the airport. It’s new in the area, and the pancakes are delicious. The decor is super trendy and so are the options on the menu. It is pretty overpriced though, so there are definitely better options out there
Content: Taking an Uber to the airport is the best way to get to SFO. You can also order a taxi in advance for a flat rate of $35 from anywhere in the city to SFO, but you have to book it in advance online I hope you’re able to enjoy San Francisco and all it’s glory because there are so many different things to do for everyone! 🌁 TIPS FOR VISITING SAN FRANCISCO ❤️ Make sure to always bring a jacket wherever you go, the fog usually rolls in at 5 or 6 PM and it can get really cold ❤️ sadly this is a city with the highest homeless population in the country so just be aware of your surroundings. They are usually harmless but people are generally pretty shocked when they first visit ❤️ you don’t need a car to get around, you can usually just Uber, walk, or take the bus to all of the different places ❤️ SFO is the main airport to fly into but sometimes people also fly into OAK, which is just right across the bridge. Depending on where you’re coming from, flights might be cheaper so always check there too
