Day 1 - 21 Nov 2020
Content: Previously know as Villa Vizaya, this Museum and garden is one of Miami’s highlights. For all you art lovers and photography enthusiasts, if you’re looking for something more than just the beaches in Miami. Make sure you stop by this gorgeous museum/garden.
Day 1 - 21 Nov 2020
Content: One of the prettiest lighthouses you’ll find in the Miami area. If you’re looking to take a quiet romantic walk by the beach this is your spot!
Day 1 - 21 Nov 2020
Content: I stayed at this beautiful hotel in the heart of Miami. A full delicious gourmet breakfast (included with your daily charge) with a rooftop pool and friendly staff made every morning a good morning.
Content: You know Miami is known for its Cuban cultural touch. I highly recommended you visit atleast one authentic Cuban restaurant while you’re here. This is the restaurant I went to and thoroughly enjoyed it. For your coffee lovers, do end your meal with a Cuban coffee.
Day 2 - 22 Nov 2020
Content: If you love all this color and all things fashion and all things art, stop by the world famous art and fashion district at Wynwood as a day time activity and inhale more of Miami’s culture and diversity.
Day 2 - 22 Nov 2020
Content: You may have seen an art installation similar to this at seven magic mountains in the deserts of Nevada by the artist Udon Rondinone. One of those Boulder installations was simultaneously installed right in Miami Beach and it is a sight to see.
Content: There’s no way you’ll miss catching a glimpse of these colorful towers all along Miami Beach and South Beach! Over time they have become a symbol of the city.
Content: Miami is a melting pot of cultures. Grab a warm meal at the Sriracha house which is a small Thai take out type restaurant with a twist. Here you’ll get the chance to pick out all your ingredients for your chef to cook freshly right in front of you. Make sure to get their famous bubble tea to have with your meal. You’ll have an overwhelming list of flavors to choose from.
Day 3 - 23 Nov 2020
Content: NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO OR DON’T DO, THIS IS A MUST DO! I cannot stress this anymore. Located about 70kms west of Key West with only two access ways to get there (I.e. ferry ride or sea plane) you will be blown away by this hidden and protected gem. Just make sure to book your tickets way in advance to guarantee yourself a spot. I’d even say to plan your trip to key west around your tickets to Dry Tortugas.
Day 3 - 23 Nov 2020
Content: I was craving a warm Indian meal after a long day at the Dry Tortugas. I was quiet surprised to find an Indian restaurant anywhere in the Keys. Being Indian myself, I absolutely had to try this place and was pleasant surprised. I recommend ordering their chicken Biryani and their Mango Lassi.
Day 3 - 23 Nov 2020
Content: This Havana inspired Resort located in the heart of Key West is a must stay. Its gorgeous pool surrounded by a canopy of coconut trees and a fantastic pool bar that is open well into the night promises to make you forget all your worries.
Day 4 - 24 Nov 2020
Content: Over time, this Bouy installation has attracted thousands for this iconic photo op. This point marks the southernmost point (as the name suggests) of the US. Although, there is speculation around how true of a fact this maybe, it sure doesn’t stop tourist from visiting.
Content: Key West is known for the beautiful sunset. Every night at sunset, the people of Key West partake in a sunset celebration. One of the best places to view the sunset is from the southern most beach of Kew West, Fort Zachary Taylor beach. It’s one for the books.
Day 5 - 25 Nov 2020
Content: On day 5, check out of Havana Cabana and get ready to explore the rest of the keys as you head back to your airport base in Miami. Stop by Bahía Honda key right at the end of the 7 mile bridge and hike the trail. You’ll get views of those pristine blue waters like you’ll never forget.
Day 5 - 25 Nov 2020
Content: Keep driving further North from Bahia Honda and you’ll get to the famous Islamorada. I stayed at this beautiful resort right on the ocean front. With easy access to the beach right across and a pool facing the ocean, I couldn’t have been happier to land this one. With all their rooms equipped with a full kitchen, I even cooked my breakfast here every morning and had it at this balcony with a view.
Content: Unlike Key West, Islamorada is not as populated and gives more of a small town vibe. Hence the number of restaurants and bars are quiet limited. On asked the hotel staff for a recommendation for dinner that night, I ended up at Robbies. A cute on the beach seafood restaurant. Had some great drinks and a filling dinner and I believe Key Lime Pie for dessert.
Day 6 - 26 Nov 2020
Content: Anne’s beach is right outside Caloosa Cove at a walkable distance. This isn’t a private beach but it definitely gave me private beach vibes as I don’t believe a lot of people know about it. It was absolutely beautiful to lay here in the sun and let the shallow waves slight brush against my feet.
Content: As I was here on thanksgiving day, I figured I would find a place that offers a thanksgiving meal on their menu. Lucky enough, I found Lazy Days. This chilled and laid back bar/restaurant was just perfect for what me and my friend were looking for. They had a full thanksgiving meal offering with dessert and it was absolutely fulfilling. The bartender was extremely friendly and even gave us a few extra drinks in the spirit of the evening.
Day 7 - 27 Nov 2020
Content: Before you leave the keys, check out Marathon Key. My friend was interested in Kayaking the mangroves and the Marathon Key beach offers it with a variety of other water sport activities. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful beach with shallow waters that allowed us to go for a swim even for non-swimmers like me.
Day 7 - 27 Nov 2020
Content: As we get to the last day, make it back to Miami where you’ll be spending your last night just in time for your flight the next morning.
Day 7 - 27 Nov 2020
Content: If time permits either the day off or the next morning before your flight, I recommend renting a bike and riding down South Beach just to soak in those Miami beaches on last time before heading home. Let me tell you that this last activity stands out as one of my best memories of the entire trip and it might be yours too until your next time.
