Day 1 - 10 May 2021
Content: Fly into Moab, UT and take the shuttle into town. Prearrange the shuttle (Moab Express) ahead of time as this is the only service that you can use to get into Moab, which is far from the tiny airport. Head straight into the Enterprise Car rental location in Moab downtown and pick up your RESERVED rental (a must at least a month in advance or you won't have a car). Pick up the car and check into the Hotel, which is walking distance to everything.
Content: After a relaxing lunch at one of the restaurants in town (we ate at the pho place), head to Dead Horse State Park and be in awe at the majestic views. Be careful driving, especially when it starts to get dark. I would recommend coming back as soon as the sun sets, unless you are very comfortable with driving this kind of terrain. Come back and eat dinner at one of the yummy restaurants downtown.
Day 2 - 11 May 2021
Content: Explore Arches National Park. Get here early (6:30/7am) so you can actually get into the park. They close after a certain number of people go in and stay closed until people leave, maybe 5/6 hours later. Do the hikes that's on your list first, even though it will be tempting to stop a million times along the way. For us, the Delicate Arch was a must, and it got super crowded quickly that we had to park far away. Wear comfortable clothes and carry water as the hike can be tough in the heat. After all the hiking, come back into town and eat lunch.
Content: Explore Canyonlands in the afternoon. There is an Arch inside Canyonlands lands too with a beautiful view called the Mesa Arch. Highly recommend.
Day 3 - 12 May 2021
Content: Due to COVID, the only people that could go inside of the valley are the people staying at the View Hotel, as the hotel is located inside the valley. The experience was absolutely stunning, nothing like it. Please note a lot of the amenities (restaurant, trading posts, gift shop, etc.) were closed due to COVID, but that's not why we went and had an amazing time. Also, it's a dry county so no alcohol, but again, wasn't a huge issue for us.
Day 4 - 13 May 2021
Content: Check in to the hotel. After settling in, go get lunch at the casual Mexican spot, El Tapatio, which is just a few minutes from the hotel.
Content: Dinner at this place with a gorgeous view of the desert and sunset. Food and drinks were delicious!
Day 5 - 14 May 2021
Content: Explore Horseshoe Bend. Get there before sunrise or late afternoon if you want good lighting for pictures. Otherwise, anytime during the day is fine as it doesn't get super crowded because people go in and out pretty quickly. Take water with you as it gets really hot.
Day 5 - 14 May 2021
Content: Explore around Lake Powell and relax. The marina has a bar/restaurant which is a great place to stop and take it all in.
Day 6 - 15 May 2021
Content: The best hotel option available around the Grand Canyon. There's quite a few options for entertainment within the hotel so not a bad experience.
Content: Explore different viewpoints around the canyon.
Day 7 - 16 May 2021
Content: Explore some of the more difficult parts of the canyon, go on hikes, etc. Afterwards, eat at one of the restaurants near the hotel, and go back out to a viewpoint for the sunset.
Day 8 - 17 May 2021
Content: Check into the B&B and check everything out. After relaxing a bit and settling in, go get food at one of the hundreds of restaurants near by. We loved the Tortas de Fuego in the Oak Creek location for a super casual lunch. Then relax with wine and snacks by the pool at the hotel.
Day 9 - 18 May 2021
Content: Explore Sedona. Get it done as early as possible since it gets really hot. There are so many beautiful hikes with amazing views to wow on the way and at the end. One of my favorites was the hike to the Seven Sacred Pools. When it gets super hot, enjoy one the hundreds of scenic drives around the area! Red Rock Scenic Byway and Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive are both great, but there are others. Then explore uptown Sedona, where cute shops, cafes and restaurants are abundant. Also take a stroll to Tlaquepaque Shopping Center. For dinner, splurge on a 5* meal. Sedona is full of high end restaurants and delicious food. Reservations are a must and should be made at least a month in advance! A few popular options include "Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill" and "Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante".
Day 10 - 19 May 2021
Content: Check into the hotel and settle in. Then go exploring around the Downtown area, get something to eat and drink. For dinner, check out Restaurant Progress.
Day 11 - 20 May 2021
Content: This place was amazing. Make a reservation/buy tickets online as they are now enforcing that due to COVID. There's a Cafe and giftshop inside. After, enjoy a lunch at one of the hundreds of options in Downtown Phoenix or Flagstaff area.
Day 12 - 21 May 2021
Content: We used this day to completely unwind since it was last day. Starting with breakfast, we started restaurant and bar hopping in the Downtown area. We walked from spot to spot, day drinking and unwinding and talking about all the amazing things we had experienced. Around 5pm, we went back to the hotel, where I met up with a masseuse for a 90 min massage to take out all the soreness from all the hiking while the hubby relaxed with some tv. Afterwards, we got cleaned up for dinner at an Italian spot and ended the night at a rooftop bar walking distance from the hotel.
