Day 1 - 2 Apr 2019
Content: We left for Pinnacles National Park from San Jose which is 1 and half hour drive. On our way we saw scenes like rolling hills punctuated by wildflowers and rocky outcrops. The staff was friendly at Hotel and rooms were clean. The hotel is right on the highway and close by to Pinnacles National Park.
Day 1 - 2 Apr 2019
Content: The store and visitor center was well-stocked and neat, everything you need while camping and visiting the park. Staff at visitors center were very helpful.
Content: This is probably the most popular trail in the park. Note that it’s closed from mid May to mid July to protect the baby bats that are born. The cave is not hard to go, but it does require some scrambling over rocks and climbing up a lot of stairs in the dark. As you continue on the Rim Trail, you get to see beautiful views of the landscape. Be careful on this trail since there isn’t a railing and note that it will be very hot.
Content: We parked in the Bear Gulch day use parking area. These caves had a unique type of structure. We definitely needed our flashlights but in most places you could see through the rocks above to the sky. Climbing up the cave with water running down stream is simply beautiful. We carried sandwiches, lots of water and snacks.
Day 1 - 2 Apr 2019
Content: After completing our trail at Park we returned to our hotel at Hollister and took some rest and visited this famous restaurant. The outdoor setting is beautiful and you don’t feel like you are next to a highway. This restaurant has super fresh farm to table style cuisine. And lovely music adds on to atmosphere.
Day 2 - 3 Apr 2019
Content: The trail is easy and mostly level, making it possible for us to complete a good of distance in a short time. Very crowded trail. Really impressive views at the end of the trail. The park ranger said it would be a great night hike since the caves are completely dark in some places. It took us around 3 hours to complete this trail. Bring lots of water.
Day 2 - 3 Apr 2019
Content: After the trail we packed our bag from hotel and left for lunch at The Running Rooster. Everything was fresh and perfect. Do not miss dessert its just mind blowing. The garlic fries were amazing paired with premium pepperoni it was a great meal, definitely worth the price.
Day 2 - 3 Apr 2019
Content: We ended our road trip with our last destination of our own town by visiting Cathedral. Inside it is very peaceful.
