Day 1 - 11 Jun 2019
Content: Started our journey to Music Pass Trail head, which took 4 hrs of drive from Colorado. starting point of our hike, beautiful place.
Content: Hiking through Music Pass Trail head passing through beautiful lakes we reached our final destination for today which is Upper Sand Creek Lake. which took about 5hr of hike. Beautiful place worth hike.
Content: Later we headed towards our campsite Upper Sand Creek Lake, here we rented sand sleds. A nice and cheap place to stay for campers
Content: We had chicken wrap provided by the camp, the food was amazing and it was to come here for lunch or dinner even if one doesn't stays here.
Day 2 - 12 Jun 2019
Content: Starting our morning with a delicious breakfast, took a 30min drive to Zapata Falls. And had a small hike to river from were the fall was visible. Road are very rocky not suitable to go with trailers or RV's.
Content: After spending some time at falls we headed towards our next destination Great Sand Dunes Visitor Center which was 1hr drive from Zapata Falls. This place gave us knowledge about how dunes are formed. It is a 2 hr session good place to gain knowledge about this place.
Content: Heading further we reached, Mosca Pass Trail known for amazing hiking trails. Excellent nature hike with amazing views no special skills are required, suitable for everyone.
Content: We entered the dune fields, Hiking on sand which was harder than normal hiking, headed to backcountry camp crossing high ridge we reached Star Dune which was our camp site for tonight.
Content: At no return point we cooked hotdog in a quick dinner. It was not the best nor that bad, much better then packed food.
Day 3 - 13 Jun 2019
Content: After a delicious nachos and cheese, we headed towards Dunes. Started our walk we didn't realized how far we were from our camp and reached Star Dune, the tallest Dune.
Content: After exhausting from sand dunes we retuned back to car and took a short drive to a place named Oasis. where we fueled up our car and had burrito in lunch. the place is like heaven who have been eating packed food in camping.
Content: Refueling our car, we returned back to dunes for a Sand Sledding activity. Reaching there we learned about sand boarding on the dunes. Spent 2 long hours on this activity. If you are visiting dunes must do this activity.
Content: Returned back from sand sleeding and with a 10min drive we reached High Dune Campsite, where we camped for our night stay. The location was near to our next day's Hike.
Day 4 - 14 Jun 2019
Content: With a windy weather we woke up and started our hike to High Dune, it was easy to climb then Star Dune. The weather was cloudy and the view were amazing.
Content: Later ending our journey to dune we took a 1hr ride and reached Alamosa, which is gateway to great Sand Dunes National Park.
Day 4 - 14 Jun 2019
Content: Returned back from Dunes we headed to a restaurant in Alamosa before ending our trip. The service was top-notch and never had such amazing and vast choice of food in Colorado.
