Day 1 - 23 Jan 2020
Content: I flew from Newark, New Jersey to San Juan airport on a direct, short 3.5 hour flight.
Day 1 - 23 Jan 2020
Content: After ubering from the airport to the hotel, we checked into our hotel, Condado Palm Inn, at about 7pm. * not my photos *
Content: We decided to eat at Ropa Vieja Grill, located in our hotel, because it was too late to go anywhere else. The food was delicious though!
Day 2 - 24 Jan 2020
Content: Old San Juan is definitely bucket list worthy with its cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, beautiful architecture, exquisite food and 500 years of rich history! No wonder it’s the most visited city in Puerto Rico. There is so much to do and see in Old San Juan!
Content: My favorite stop in Old San Juan was El Morro for its picturesque military structure and incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Content: After a long day of exploring Old San Juan, we grabbed a bite to eat at Barrachina- the birthplace of the Pina Colada! The food is some of the best Puerto Rican food I’ve had! They also have Flamenco shows on Friday and Saturday nights. * be sure to make a reservation *
Day 3 - 25 Jan 2020
Content: We decided to have a beach day on our third day at Condado Beach! There was a man walking around selling coconuts and he opened them right in front of us!
Content: We grabbed lunch at Pinaloka right on the Main Street in Condado! I got an açaí bowl in a pineapple!
Content: We went on a sunset sail! Unfortunately, it was so cloudy we didn’t see much of a sunset. But nonetheless, we had a great time!! The ‘ I love PR ‘ sign was right out front of our meeting spot!
Day 4 - 26 Jan 2020
Content: I used Pandora Tours to go to El Yunque, Luquillo Beach & Bio Bay! El Yunque is the only tropical forest in the US, and despite being one of the smallest rainforests, it has a diverse and densely populated habitat. * the forest was closed after Hurricane Maria but some sections are reopened!
Content: After the forest, we stopped at Luquillo beach. It started to rain so we didn’t get to swim but we were able to check out the Luquillo Kiosks. Despite their rugged look. There is a casual and welcoming ambience! There’s all types of food there from Puerto Rican to gourmet Italian to fried snacks. And there is plenty of boutiques to check out!
Content: *not my photos* we left our phones in the car just in case so I unfortunately didn’t get any photos but we went kayaking in the Bio Bay! This was super cool :)
Day 5 - 27 Jan 2020
Content: We came to pool/beach at La Concha Renaissance! We weren’t staying here so we had to purchase beach chairs. Amazing hotel though! Will definitely stay here next time as it’s right on the water.
Day 5 - 27 Jan 2020
Content: We did the Bacardi Mixology class at Casa Bacardi! We learned how to make the perfect Mojito!!
Day 5 - 27 Jan 2020
Content: La Placita is a must see for anyone visiting Puerto Rico! It now functions as a market place during the day with some open restaurants and when the sun goes down, La Placita takes it up a notch and comes to life with high-end restaurants, chinchorros (open-air bars), clubs, and all night salsa dancing in the streets. It’s pretty much one huge block party! We ate dinner at Delavida, the nachos were amazing
