Day 1 - 2 Jun 2021
Content: Arrived at the Lihue airport, picked up our luggage and hopped into a shuttle to pick up our rental car for the trip. Since Kauai is very spread out, a car is a must. You can rearrange a car online prior or book it while you’re there.
Day 1 - 2 Jun 2021
Content: We checked in early to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, which is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. This hotel is gorgeous!! From the moment you drive in, it’s very green and picturesque, the entire hotel is paradise. It’s a 5 star hotel resort, so I wouldn’t expect anything less.
Content: After getting settled in, we decided to take a chill day, and enjoy the resort’s amenities. We spent our day relaxing at their pool and beach. What’s neat about this resort is they offer guests with 3 large pools including a lazy river with a water slide, a large activities pool with basketball and volleyball nets, and another section for an adults only pool. They also have jacuzzis, a saltwater lagoon area, and easy access to the beach as well!
Content: We had dinner at one of their many restaurants, Stevenson’s Library, which is located in the hotel’s library. Stevenson’s is a restaurant for sushi and spirits; everything was super fresh and worth the money!
Day 2 - 3 Jun 2021
Content: We woke up early and ordered room service for breakfast. Nothing beats waking up to an ocean view every morning!
Day 2 - 3 Jun 2021
Content: We booked a few fun tours during this trip through a company called Best Kauai Tours. This company is like a one-stop-shop for the best Kauai tours on the island. On our second day, we did a helicopter tour. I have always wanted to do one and I couldn’t be more excited to do it in Kauai! The helicopter tour was about 55 minutes long and during that time, we explored and saw the Na Pali Coast, Waimea Canyon, Wailua Falls, Mount Waialeale, while learning about the legends and history of the island. Totally recommend this tour if you want to explore the island from above!
Content: After the helicopter tour, we were hungry, so we grabbed lunch nearby. There was a Duke’s nearby from where we were, so we headed there. If you’re unfamiliar with Duke’s, it’s a popular chain restaurant with delicious seafood and vibes!
Content: After lunch, we walked over to the Kalapaki Beach, which is located right across Duke’s, and relaxed there for a bit before heading back.
Day 2 - 3 Jun 2021
Content: We had dinner plans at Merriman’s Fish House. Merriman’s is another great place for fresh seafood and impeccable ambiance.
Day 3 - 4 Jun 2021
Content: On our third day, we enjoyed more scenic views and explored the nature side of Kauai on a zip-line tour! This was definitely one of my favorite tours to date. If you’re feeling adventurous again, Ziplining is a must! I loved our tour guides too; very informative and funny! This particular zip-line tour was an 8-line course and was approximately 3.5 hours with breathtaking background!
Content: After a long day, we went back to the hotel and relaxed, and ordered food by the pool.
Day 4 - 5 Jun 2021
Content: For breakfast, we head downstairs to the Seaview Terrance for some coffee and freshly baked pastries while enjoying views of Keoneloa Bay.
Day 4 - 5 Jun 2021
Content: One of the most suggested tours by locals and tourists alike is to sail through Kauai’s beautiful Na Pali Coast. Though we didn’t get to do this, any activity on the way is a MUST! And if you’re looking to knock out snorkeling and watching the sunset, you might as well conquer it all on a boat tour!
Day 4 - 5 Jun 2021
Content: You can’t do Hawaii without experiencing a luau! Luaus are a great way to learn more about the Polynesian culture. During the luau, they offered guests a buffet of traditional Hawaiian food and skilled performances of the hula telling stories of the islands; it was an experience!
Day 5 - 6 Jun 2021
Content: On our last day, we decided to pamper ourselves at the hotel’s spa, Anara Spa. Let me tell you; it was one of the BEST spa experiences I’ve had, and I go to spas often! Anara Spa offers a variety of treatments that suit all traveler’s needs. I recommend you treat yourself! After all, you deserve it. 🙂
Content: We continued our relaxing day at the hotel’s pool.
Content: Had dinner at another one of their restaurants, Tidepools. This place is a bit romantic, but still worth checking out if you’re with your friends or family! They serve contemporary Hawaiian cuisine with fresh ingredients.
