Day 1 - 14 Jul 2021
Content: Our stay at the Gallivant was fine, because we were out and about most of our trip. The room was very small and the bed was even smaller. We had to request cleaning and book a time for it, which is fine, only they didn’t show up. The location is perfect for tourist, just a minute away from Times Square and other big tourist attractions. I would recommend booking this place, if you are planning on strictly sleeping in your room, but don’t expect luxury comfort. For the price we paid, it was perfect, but you mostly pay for the location.
Day 1 - 14 Jul 2021
Content: We arrived at La Guardia late at night, after a short flight from Orlando. We found our way around the airport easily and after a short wait for our Uber, our adventure finally began. I visited NYC a dozen times before, but my fiancé only went one time before, for work. So I was excited to show him around the city!
Day 2 - 15 Jul 2021
Content: Our first day we spend most of our time just strolling around the city, spotting things like The Empire State, the Chrysler building and many other famous sights. We ended up grabbing a coffee in Bryant Park and just taking it all in!
Day 2 - 15 Jul 2021
Content: After this we visited Ernest Klein, I have fond memories of visiting this market with my family after a long flight to grab some food. They have everything from quick snacks to full meals and it’s especially fun for people who are not from the states, because they have many different American candies and chocolates (my favourite part).
Content: At night we visited this rooftop and we honestly had the time of our lives! The view over Central Park is simply amazing and the cocktails and drinks were delicious. The DJ also was really great and the staff was super friendly. One of the most fun nights we had in the USA! Definitely worth a visit.
Day 3 - 16 Jul 2021
Content: I usually visit top of the rock with my family, but heard a lot of good things about The Edge and it’s view. It didn’t disappoint! I personally still prefer Rockefeller, but I’m also a creature of habit and the edge is too an amazing spot to see the whole city, all at once!
Content: Besides the edge, there’s another (fairly new) sight to see, which is The Vessel. You can also go into The Vessel, but we decided to just take some pictures and walk around. A very great place to get a cool (and not too obvious) insta-pic!
Day 3 - 16 Jul 2021
Content: At the end of the day we walked over The High Line, one of my favourite things to do in New York. I love all the different sights of the city and all the pretty flowers on the track. I really recommend grabbing yourself a coffee or tea and taking the time to walk around and enjoy the views here.
Day 4 - 17 Jul 2021
Content: The next day we visited Chelsea market. My foodie heart exploded with joy, seeing all the great food options. I honestly wish I would’ve tried more of the delicious foods and snacks they had to offer.
Content: One of the best things we tried was this Berlin Currywurst with sauerkraut and onions. Normally not my taste (my fiancé loves it) but this one was incredibly delicious!
Content: For dessert we had Gelato, not the best I ever had, but definitely delicious. I tried the chocolate mint and mascarpone flavours, but they had lots of other delicious options!
Content: We ended up still a little hungry, so we decided to have a another bite close to our hotel (or: next to our hotel!) And I’m so happy we did! This was absolutely delicious and truly recommend if you love Asian food. We are really big Asia lovers and this food took us right back to Tokyo!
Day 5 - 18 Jul 2021
Content: You are never done exploring Central Park. This park is as big as some of the city’s in my country. I loved walking around in the morning and do some people-watching. Also another great spot to get some pictures or enjoy your breakfast.
Day 5 - 18 Jul 2021
Content: Next up we drove to Queens for a pool party at the Profundo rooftop. Great people, ambiance and view! I really enjoyed my time here and the DJ was not too bad either (but I might be bias, since I’m engaged to him).
Day 6 - 19 Jul 2021
Content: Of course we couldn’t miss the Disney store while being in New York! This two floored store has everything you can dream of but my favourite part is the New York themed Disney merch, great souvenir if (like me) you love New York and Disney both.
Content: We met up with a friend for some lunch and ended up at Lilly’s. The menu is great and I really enjoyed my wrap with salmon and avocado. My fiancé and our friend both got sliders and they loved it too. Great place to go get some lunch or dinner!
Content: This one is for my fellow ‘influencers’: radio city hall at night is really cool for some pictures or videos.
Day 7 - 20 Jul 2021
Content: This is one of my favourite breakfast spots. I love the vintage USA feeling of the interior and the food is simply delicious! My favourite thing to get are the hash brown’s or the eggs Benedict.
Content: The dream of any child (or adult!). This toy store is one of my favourite things in New York City. It reminds me of the toy store in Home Alone 2, there’s just something magical about it! I love to walk around and look at all the toys. This year they had a whole funko pop and loungefly area, which I believe is new.
Content: If, like me, you are a Nintendo kid: don’t miss out on this store! They have lots of games but even more amazing merch and some great photo opportunities. Level up (see what I did there) to the second floor and you even get the opportunity to play some games!
Content: Another one of my favourite spots, it’s just simply a beautiful place. There’s also lots of places to get some food or a coffee, so don’t feel weird to go here if you don’t have a train to catch.
