Mountain House

Mountain House, Mountain House

Content: On our way! We got off to a late start since my son had a long-standing testing commitment in the morning. We were determined to get some miles covered for our 8 days/9 nights road trip. This trip was a long time coming! The seed was sown when my son mentioned he wanted to see the last Blockbuster in Bend. With fall break approaching in school, I started my research on Oregon. I was amazed with all the information I found online! This state is a nature-lover’s paradise!

Mt. Shasta Inn & Suites

Content: We usually avoid motels and inns. This place became an exception thanks to the reviews I read online. The outside of the Inn gives you the typical motel view, but the inside is definitely upgraded and comfortable! The personal note from housekeeping was a nice touch.

Content: Amazing Italian Restaurant with many options for different dietary needs! We’re very picky about the silverware at restaurants and this place had spotless utensils. 😁 The food was hot & yummy, service was really good, and the ambiance was great! This restaurant was just a 4-minute walk from the Inn, but we chose to drive instead. The road by the Inn didn’t have enough street lighting and it is the main road passing through the town. It would definitely be a nice walk during the day!

Content: A great place for breakfast or brunch! Be ready to wait a bit, this place can get quite busy. For the Mocha lovers out there, be sure to try the Mexican Mocha at this place. My son kept mentioning it was really good! We got two different views of Mt. Shasta as we headed out of the city to our next stop - Crater Lake.

Rim Village Cafe & Gift Shop

Crater Lake National Park, Rim Village Cafe & Gift Shop

Content: Beautiful, scenic drive! We were about 10-15 minutes away from our first stop at Rim Village Café & Gift Shop. The shop runs out of food options quite early in the day. They only had a few salads and PBJ sandwiches left when we got there. Be sure to pack a lunch so you’re not relying on the shop.

The Obsidian Flow Trail passes through a volcanic eruption that happened about 1300 years ago. The lava cooled too quickly leaving behind different forms of glass - obsidian and pumice!

We got there in time to join the Buccaneers-Patriots game during 2nd Quarter.😁 This was the best hotel during our trip. We’re glad we were here for 2 nights! They have a very reasonably priced valet parking option, $15 per day. Definitely take advantage of it! They offer you bottled water when you head out for the day and clean your car’s windshield as well.

Content: The rooms at this hotel were well maintained and had a vintage style. The beds were comfortable, but I wish they were queen-sized beds as opposed to double beds. The outlets in the room were also in the weirdest corners. They tried to create a vintage look in the bathroom as well, but it could use a bit more updating and better cleaning as well.
